You must be joking ! what planet are you all from - how much did you get paid to write those reviews. Just come back from the holiday from hell - location in the middle of no where - the most unfriendly staff I have ever known , expensive - no atmosphere - never even heard of the word happy hour or just happy. More than any of the staff job worth to say hello let alone help you with any kinda question. went with 14year old boy and 17 year old girl - how bored were they at this hotel - swimming pool came up to their shoulders , no entertainment until the second to last day and he was a new rep - looked and acted so much like jerry lewis tried to act funny but he sooooo was not !

Supermarket crap and a rip off. Room no 213 was on two floors - attic room so hot had to pay for weekly fan, but loads of room overall.

walk to the beach was a hike and half downhill - 25 minutes, not sure about all your teenage kids but mine just wern't having none of it-especially when they knew they had to walk back up in the heat.

walk to veronicas was about 20 mins - nothing at all near this hotel to vary your choice so have to walk into town.

WHO THE HELL IS SAL ?

I really am thinking that i never stayed in the hotel you are all writing about.

Visited the Compestella beach resort and wow! what a difference - 3 bars with happy hour and this makes a difference as the hotel was 5 euro for a watered down voddy & coke

So tell me I am talking about the wrong hotel please.

this is the second time we have stayed at the compostella and its the best place we have ever stayed.the staff are excellent (even the cleaners)especially the entertainer sal.hes great with the kids and the adults too.theres always something to do water polo.darts.table tennis quiz night etc.sal arranges all this.the rooms are excellent and are always kept clean.the pools are excellent for the children there not too deep and theres a baby pool.its a 10 min walk from veronicas or los cristianos which is ideal.we will be definitly be going back next year.we have been on plenty of holidays .spain greece.cyprus but this place is amazing because of the people at compostella.luis the receptionist is so helpful.if there was a problem he would sort it even though we had no probs.if you want a great holiday and want to feel safe and secure then go here, trust me

I have just returned from a day stay at these apartments and agree with all comments previous published. The complex is very clean and rooms spacious. The staff on reception are the most helpful reception staff I have ever encountered during any of my holidays to Spain/Canaries or Balerics.

The rooms a very spacious and are cleaned regulary.

The only advise I would give to anyone travelling to Tenerife this summer is to double any spending money you may have been thinking of taking on holiday as this Island is extortinate. Taxi drivers just seem to think of an amount to charge you once you get to your destination - always ask how much for the journey before getting into any taxi as they dont all put the meter on.

I will not be returning to Tenerife but this was not due to these appartments but more to do with the cost of living on this island

well after reading so many bad reviews, i was dreading my holiday at compostella. myself and three other went to tenerife over new years. it was amazing!!! the best holiday ever. when we arrived we didnt know where we were as it was late that night. when we got into the hotel, it looked small, and was dreading what the rooms would be like. we were on the 1st floor. when we got into our room, we couldnt believe how big it was, it was brill. we had an enormous living space with a seprate kitchen, it was bigger than any kitchen in any apartment id ever seen. we had 1 separte bathroom and one which was through the master bedroom. both bedrooms were massive and had really big sliding mirrors and behind them was loads of space for all the clothes and of course my shoes.

overall an amazing holiday and would definately recommend these apartments to anyone and would definately go back. definately a 10 out of 10.

Had a great time at the Compostela! We stayed for 2 weeks in a 2 Bed apartment which was huge. The apartment was on two floors. The room had a bedroom, kitchen and bathroom downstairs and the same again upstairs although we didn't use the top floor as there was a very dodgy staircase which wasn't ideal for our 2 and 5 year old. We just brought the mattress down from upstairs and all slept in the one bedroom which was fine as it was so spacious.

The swimming was good. The only complaint was the tiles around the edge were extremely slippery! I spent two weeks saying (or should I say shouting) to my children 'stop running' and I lost count of how many times they slipped over.

The staff were very friendly and helpful and the maids worked VERY hard and kept the place so clean. The accommodation is quite basic but for us with two young kids it was perfect, the kitchen has everything you need to cook a decent meal.

Loved Tenerife will definitely come back but would probably look at all inclusive next time as since the Euro has replaced the Pesata nothing’s that cheap anymore!

Just got back from a last minute, one week stay here. Overall we enjoyed the holiday and a couple of things we had a problem with were sorted out straight away. For instance, we arrived at 11pm and were given a ground floor room - to be woken by the road noise at 7am. Only one side of the complex faces the road which is not mega busy but at peak times in the morning it is quite noisy. We had requested an upper floor room through the travel agent however it could not be changed on arrival, the next morning though a lovely guy on reception called Luis got our room changed to a 1st floor room facing the centre of the complex. Here there was no road noise at all! One day we noticed a light switch on one of the corridors hanging off the wall and reported it to Luis (seems to work everyday!), he straight away got the maintenance guy on to it and it was fixed the next time we walked past it. So as far as any problems we had, they

were sorted out straight away. There are always maintenance staff around which is reassuring really.

The pool bar was ok for food and drink but a bit pricey (£3.50 for a pint of premium lager) although the local brand lager was cheaper. There are a couple of larger supermarkets 10 to 15 minutes walk from the apartments which are much cheaper than the shop on site and it is easy to cater for yourself for the duration of the stay. The kitchen is quite well equipped with a good oven if you can be bothered! If not then there is a good selection of bars and restaurants 15 minutes away on foot, 2 minutes in a taxi but 5 euros!

The entertainment consisted of a guy called Sal doing activities such as pool, darts, water polo, bowling etc, then in the evening he ran the kids mini disco followed by a show of some sorts, plus bingo and a quiz. The kids were kept entertained and easily made friends in the complex. The complex has quite a safe feel to it to as the only entrance seemed to be through reception.

The pool was very welcoming to cool down from the amazing sunshine but the pool itself is a little tired looking and could do with a bit of a facelift. For example, tiles missing from the bottom of the pool in some parts however I don't suppose this can be fixed till the end of the season and I would much prefer the pool with water in it and a few tiles missing at this time of year than no pool at all!

The rooms do get hot during the day and at night to, hire a fan as soon as you check in, wait till the next day and they will all be gone! The rooms would benefit considerably from air con' or ceiling fans. The rooms were lovely and clean and we didn't have any real problems with the local bug life. The rooms were cleaned well enough and towels and bedding changed enough too.

Overall, we enjoyed or relaxing holiday and would return but there are lots of other countries we want to try first! I would recommend these apartments for a budget break.

Just back from this resort, and missing it and the friends we made already. The resort is small and friendly. The pool is, as has been said 'shallow' but needed in the strong sunshine, and was suitable for our two children age 6 and 9, who had a great time and just wanted to stay in the pool or round the pool tables. Where Sal the entertainer was always on hand playing games, and keeping everyone smiling which must of been tough as he really didn't have any resources in which to do so.

The apartment was great really big and clean but lacking the air con, just fans which have to be hired. Food at the bar was good well cooked and priced fairly. Playa Americas is about a 15/20 min walk away, quite long in the hot sunshine. Los Cristanos and La Vista is about 15mins walk the other way and what shopping you'll get there!

Overall this resort is good but needs more help in the entertainment department for its just one man and his show (but he is great!! thanks Sal).

Rooms are very clean and spacious; the pool area is large and friendly. High standards of cleanliness.

Quiet but close to centre of things! Great hotel for people with kids as there are lots of activities for them!

Tenerife in general is great, but the hotels not the best for pulling as it is family orientated!

Night life is great, beaches are very crowded, and weather is amazing!

Very nice relaxed atmosphere during the day and night. Food from pool bar was very nice, drinks and food was quite cheap.

Rooms were beautiful, very clean and supplied everything needed and more. Staff were very friendly with a good level of English.

Pool and surrounded area was very clean. Nearest shop was a 24 hour supermarket, which is always helpful.

There was a mini mart attached to apartments, open during the day. Quite close to beach and nightlife of las Americas.

Overall, I can’t think of one fault this resort has.

Very nice hotel, friendly staff and peaceful location. We escaped to this hotel from a very noisy hotel in Fanabe area and enjoyed the peace and quietness.

The rooms were nicely furnished and included living room, bedroom and kitchen as well as a nice but small terrace. The quality of the room seemed to us rather a four than a three star hotel.

Nice walking route to the beach, although we found it only on the third day as it was not marked on our map. There are two tennis courts at Pabellon de Deportes, 200 m to the north, only 3 euros per hour. We found best restaurants on el Camison Street, 300 metre’s away - much better restaurants than most of the beach restaurants.

Meson Castellano serves excellent Tapas - they do not have a menu but serve both meat and vegetarian Tapas dinner with 5-6 dishes. Also Little Italy on the same street was excellent.

The only negative things were the high prices at the hotel supermarket and the construction site on the opposite side of the road - ugly but not noisy as they had not started to build there yet.

I just got back from at Tenerife with 4 friends all aged between 18-23, we spent a week at the above named apartments. I am missing it already!!!

I read so many bad reports before I went I was actually dreading the holiday! I had nothing to worry about, the staff were friendly, the hotel was obviously 3 star but nothing to complain about it, was clean and welcoming. Our apartments were lovely, spacious and well equipped.

The only downfall was that it is slightly far out of the main parts of Playa de las Americas, but taxis are so cheap! Worth it after a drunken night out!!!

Oh and the pool is a bit too shallow but it’s a pool and a necessity in the heat!

Recommended pub: The Dubliner.... brilliant crack! Hope that this is useful.

Great accommodation and can I first just say that overall I loved the holiday.

First off the apartments are great, very clean and tidy and quite big. They have balconies although ours faced a construction site but I didn't really care too much.

The staff are great, always up for a laugh and are really friendly. Shy the entertainer is great, really funny and really makes an effort to get to know every1. By the way if you are playing the quiz and he offers a bottle of champagne to whoever can tell him where the card game bridge was invented then the answer is Turkey ;) just a tip for some free bubbly.

The apartments are very close to all the night life where all the action is (about 10 minutes walk) or if you simply can't be bothered walking then taxis are up and down the main road by the hotel all day so are very easy to flag down and will cost about 3 - 5 euros to get into the town, I would recommend walking there and taxiing back as there are a few holes on the way where the construction is and you don't want to fall down one of them drunk lol.

If you are considering going here or are worried if you have read some bad reviews then don't worry you will love it. Hope you decide to choose these apartments and hope you have a lovely time if you do so.

Just got back from 2 weeks at Compostella. First impressions were poor as our room was falling apart, although the next morning we explained to reception and the staff were more than happy to help us. We moved to a much better room, very pleased.

Shy the hotel entertainer was great, really friendly and up for a laugh. Although, the night life was about a fifteen minute walk away to the main strip, which was the only down side, yet, reception were more than happy to help getting you a taxi. The hotel is more family orientated, rather than young groups and couples which was the only down side.

Would definitely recommend this hotel, but if was to return would choose accommodation nearer to the beach and night life. Night life is not as good as Magalluf or Malia but plenty of places to go. Be warned for the PR's they harass you into the bars and restaurants! Really annoying!!

Overall a brilliant holiday and I’m missing everything already.

We are just back from Compostela 2 after 2 weeks holiday there. We had a great time for the 2 weeks .The room was clean and towels were changed every second day. It's ideal for a family holiday; the pool is not very deep which is good for kids. We have son 14 & Two girls 4 yr old & 2 half year old.

They had a ball here, never saw our son except at bed time & looking for money! The girls loved it. The staff were great, Shy (Denmark) was over the entertainment. He is so helpful & Happy all the time, I bet after him meeting you he'll know your name for your full stay. The hotel I hope look after him. The lads in the bar are great also. With kids we ate in most nights & the food was good also.

The only down side was the weather in the second week was Cloudy, Not the hotel’s fault!

We would go back again to Compostela 2 in 2007.
