Nice resort - a bit out of the way from old Greece
from NeathTaff
We stayed at the Sani Beach Hotel during August 2006. We were originally due to holiday at the Beach Club, but on arrival we found ourselves at the Hotel with a confused bus driver. Following a brief wait we found we were booked into the hotel and not the beach club, something we did not want - but after looking around we were glad. Firstly, it is a fresh change to have all your belongings carted to the room without any fuss by the team of porters. Well worth the tip! The rooms are well presented and clean with everything you would expect from a 4* hotel. Air conditioned with a safe and a fridge (handy to keep drinks bought from the supermarket, but don't use any of the drinks provided as they cost a fortune!) with a daily maid service. The food at the hotel is excellent with a varied choice every time, the drinks during evening meal times are either paid for in cash at the end or charged to the room. Waiters are very helpful and always greet with a smile (maybe difficult for them considering the long hours they put in!) the dine-around system is only helpful if you want to pay extra in the marina for food that is not as good as the hotel or if you venture to the Beach Club which can be reached via a free bus -I’d recommend at least one evening trip as it varies the scenery. The pool area is large, picturesque and has plenty of sun-lounges ( do not leave your towels on them before 9.30am as they will be taken away and piled up for you to collect). The beach is also a 'stone throw 'away if you like sand between your toes. Anyone with a child can relax as the hotel run kids club is excellent for taking care of them for a few hours if required, with friendly staff who made our daughters holiday The evening entertainment is generally good when the entertainment team are performing; get there early for a seat as there is a lot of competition. I would also recommend a trip to sample the Beach Club entertainment (tied in with an evening meal on the dine-around system). The resort itself, including the Marina area is clean and modern, but a little too manufactured and 'contemporary' for visiting every evening. I would recommend to anyone to hire a car and see the surrounding areas as well as the 'Old Greece' in the nearby mountains. Overall, an excellent place for a Holiday but a little out of the way maybe for a two-week stay without a car. Would we go again?? - Probably not as we never go anywhere twice as a rule.
Lovely Relaxing Holiday
from ANDIES
Me (38), my husband (45) and daughter (11) just arrived back from this hotel yesterday and I thought I would write a review while it was all fresh in my mind. I had been to this resort with a friend 2 years ago and the rooms have been ugraded since then. They are a touch basic compared to say Cyprus but they were more than adequte for us.The have a large plasma TV but not many English chanels so take some DVD's to watch on the DVD player. We were in B block and I had specifically asked for the particular room as it was on the second floor so no lift needed (they are slow and tiny and make me feel nauseous) and you have the most fantastic views of the beach and the castle and the sunset - amazing! The marina is lovely and we walked round there at least twice a day just to look at the boats and have fabulous cocktails. We only ate once at the marina at Macaroni which was ok but a bit pricey for three basic pizzas. Both of the beach bars are lovely playing chill-out music and they bring your cocktails to you on the beach. The sea itself is amazing and ideal for children as you can wade out for approx 200 meters and still only be waist deep. The water is so clear and clean and you can see fish swimming around you! The food in the main restaurant is fine - my only complaint would be that it gets a bit boring after a week but then again if you are that bothered there are plenty of other restaurants to try at the marina. You can also do the dine-around feature but my daughter is a bit picky with her food and the set menus did not appeal to her at all! On the whole I would say that if you are looking for a completely relaxed, clean, safe holiday resort then this is definately for you. If you are looking for English bars, night clubs and shopping then this is not for you. The whole resort is almost like a Centre parcs but with sun!
Great time at Sani
from Alvin&Tracy
My wife and I had two weeks here, and we had a great time. The Hotel is in a resort with the Sani Beach Club etc. We were half board and found the food to be of a very good standard. We also liked the fact that you could dine around in the other restaurants in the resort and you got a discount for doing this. The hotel has a beach, a number of restaurants , a small marina, cinema, shop. The hotel pool was great very large, and we found this was were we spent most of our time. There is a couple of bars in the hotel, the one we really liked had a large sun terrace, where we would have a couple of drinks before dinner. We had a balcony overlooking the pool, sea and the room was great. In all we had a great time here.
Ghastly
from Cleopetra
I can honestly say this is the most dreadful resort i have ever stayed in with the most ridiculously misleading website. My friend and i paid £599 each for 1 week HB in a suite. The staff are sleezy and incompetent constantly not even being able to get an order or 2 bottles of water correct. The hotel was completly rammed with sinchairs next to each other and i have never seen a beach crammed with as many chairs as possible also. The rooms had paper thin walls and up until 12 at night the noise is unbelievable i felt sorry for anyone had children who were trying to sleep. The only minor saving grace was the spa (in off peak season) had very reasonable prices shame about the communal sauna and steam room with naked men showering next to you. All in all a horrendous experience and would no way pay more thean £299.
Great one week holiday with 3yr and 1yr old
from Back_bacon
After reading other reviews before we went, i thought it was only fair to give something back. We have jsut returned after seven lovely days in the Sani Beach Hotel. We have a 3 1/2 yr and 14month old and a week was perfect for all of us - although I think we may have struggled for a second week. The beaches are great and extremely close by with lots of sunbeds and umbrellas; the main pool is a good size and shape (to keep the kids interested) with a sloping entrance which made playing in the water really easy. The kids pool is 50cm deep and separate from the main area. The grounds are well looked after and it is about 400m walk to the marina. This is a gentle stroll and nice watching the boats with a small supermarket (has the basics), cafes/restaurants and various boutieque type shops. We only made it to the Sani Beach Club on the last day and wished we had gone earlier as this is included in the package and seemed very nice - much lower density development than the hotel with good facilities (but a much less child friendly pool). The Sani resort (hotel, club and a few other smaller developments) are a long way from any local village or other facilities so you are rather stuck in the resort, but for seven days this was fine for us. We had a junior suite in the B block - overlooking the sea and away from the pool. If you get a choice between the main block and B block I would ask for B Block - but this is a bit less convient for getting to the restaurant, reception and pools area. We had a few frustrating journeys on the first day trying to work out the lifts/ramps and steps with a pushchair... On occasions the lifts were slow to arrive and also rather cramped - especially with a pushchair. The view from our room was great and despite being a junior suite it was cosy with our 3yr on the sofa and 1yr in a cot. Other people have mentioned storage issues. this was not a problem for us, but talking to people in Double rooms these were even more cosy. We were half board and the food was good and well presented. There was a very wide choice (important with a fussy 3yr old) however as other people have mentioned none of the food was hot, but still tasty and I'm sure I've put on several pounds from sampling the wide range so no complaints All the hotel staff were very friendly and excellent with kids - could not fault them. There was a daily programme of sports activities (football, waterpolo, volleyball, table tennis) and the childrens clubs facilities looked very good - but we did not use them so can not comment There was a good mix of other guests - a number of English (Thomson, First Choice and Thomas Cook), but also Germans, other Europeans and Greeks. There were also a number of Bulgarians (many of the big cars in the car park were Bulgarian) with a good atmosphere. Overall I would not hesitate to recommend the hotel and staying in Sani.
Lovely, relaxing chilled out holiday
from mccjgw
This hotel is excellent. It is even better then Mexico and the Dominican Republic!! If you just want a week chilling and relaxing, then this hotel is definitly for you. The beach is lovely, particularly the one in front of B block (which is a little more quiet) the sea is beautifully clear (even if it is a little chilly!!) the pool is a nice size and was never over-crowded. The spa is a great asset to the hotel, and is not promoted as well as it should be. The treatments are reasonably priced in low season, and the sauna and steam room are free to use. The rooms are a little on the small side, but we hardly spent any time in the room so it wasnt an issue. We didnt have a sea view room, instead we overlooked the hotel gradens at the front of the hotel, and we still saw the sea in the distance. The staff work incredibly hard, they always have a smile on there face, trying to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. The food is good, however it is better at the Sani Beach Club (which you can eat in for free every night if you wish!). The harbour is a lovely feature of the hotel, especially at night time when all the lights come on. Its a reasonably quick walk as well. The shops round the harbour can be very expensive, so steer clear if you want to save pennys!! The evening entertainment is good for a hotel, staging shows such as "Mamma Mia" and "The Blues Brothers" its all free and makes a nice end to a day. We went to the market (which runs every Wednesday) you can get a coach from the hotel for as little as 3 euros 50. It really is worth it as you can save yourself so much money, especially on clothes. The people arent pushy either which is nice. Definitly recommend going to Sithonia it is known as the prettiest of the three pinnisulas and it definitly is. From here you get a great view of Turtle Island and Mount Athos (on a clear day!). We were extremly lucky with the weather, it reached 29 degrees most days, the rep did say though that normally it is at least five degrees cooler in May. I can imagine it getting extremly busy in the high season i.e. late July and all of August, so if you want to avoid the crowds go in May. Im already planning my next stay there (and I hardly ever visit the same place twice!!) Dont even think about going, just book- you wont be disappointed!!
Great for chilling out and recharging your batteries!

We've just come back from the Sani resort and would recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing break. The resort is very clean and high quality, and our room in A block was lovely. We couldn't fault the staff or facilities generally but the food in the hotel was below standard compared to everything else - bascically because it was never hot. It was obviously cooked properly but not kept warm. However (and this is a great offer, not mentioned previously in these pages), if you are staying half board, you can also eat in the Sani Beach Club restaurant - which is supposed to be better - and you can also eat for free from the set menus in three of the marina restaurants. If you want to eat a la carte at these places, they knock €8pp off the bill plus another 20%. Prices in the resort were quite high (especially for drinks) as they have a captive audience but there are some great bargains e.g. spa treatments in low season half price - £20 for a full body massage! Overall, we really enjoyed the holiday but can imagine that it would get a bit much in high season, with cushioned sunbeds and restaurant tables in short supply. Go in June or September - the weather will still be fab and you'll avoid the masses!

my family and i stayed at the sani beach hotel, 2 years on the run, and i cannot compliment this hotel enough, the food was excellent and plentiful, the hotel foyer is amazing, the facilities for teens are good inc a teen disco, the beach service is really good, the staff are very professional and if it is your birthday, tell guest relations in reception, the waiters will sing happy birthday, which is funny for the rest of the family, you also receive a small birthday cake, also the hotel have a free sunset and sunrise cruise, which is on a thursday, you have book it asap as it is very popular, the marina is really lovely as well, the resort is very family orientated, i would go back again and again

We has a wonderful stay here and were impressed with the hotel and its surrowndings, it was an ideal place for us to relax as a family and feel pampered at the same time. We chose to get married during our stay in Halikidiki and the hotel really looked after us with flowers, champagne and decorating our room etc - there were some very nice touches at no extra cost to us. When we booked we payed a suppliment inorder to get a sea view room, however with hindsight I would of upgraded our room to a suite rather than get the sea view as our room size was on the small side and at around £500 for the view we would have prefered a bigger room instead and I would advise others to do the same. Anyway that did not really detract from our really great stay in and around the hotel. We really did like the marina area and myself personally did not find it as expensive as I was expecting. Every resteraunt/bar that we visited in the marina over the fortnight was very smart and clean and the service was also very good, then when you take into account the views that you can enjoy and the quality of thre surrowndings and the hospitality you are never going to get things at a bargain price. Put it this way we actually came back with a few hundred euro's that we did not spend and we did not scrimp on anything, and we had some of the best meals we had ever had a had a drink in some of the smartest bars you could wish for - and in a great location. I found the food in ther hotel was really nice, there was definatly plenty of choice and I would think that every taste was catered for especially during evening meal where I never found a single dish that I did not like or was cold, the nature of buffet service is that the dishes of food are kept warm by hot water below so the food is never going to be scolding but it was always nicely heated and not one of us suffered any stomach problems in the whole fortnight (even our 2 year old son) so there can't be that much wrong with it. Breakfast was a slight disappointment as they didn't seve what I would call "Proper" bacon and sausages, the sausages were mini hot dog sausages and I think the bacon was basically sliced ham that they fried. This was O.K for a change for a coulpe of days but I did get bored of them, don't get worried thought because there are plenty of other options to choose from and I always left the restaraunt with a full stomach - the fresh omlettes that they make individually for you are very nice. The whole Sani resort is very special and it did take us a bit of time to get our bearings and find out where we could or could not eat with our vouchers from the hotel, we found the best way was just to ask at the resteruant before you ordered. Had a walk around the other hotels on the complex and they all looked very nice, I think I would like to stay in the Porto Sani Village if I came again but that does not detract from the hotel in any way. All in all a really fantastic stay and I would recommend the hotel and resort to anyone, and I think we may go back in a few years to have another great holiday. At this resrt I think you get what you pay for, and you get first class service with first class food and drink with some fantastic views, so you may have to pay a little more than over here - but it won't break the bank and I know where I would rather spend my money. If you are thinking about going here then just do it.....you won't regret it !!
