Great place. Great hosts. Great location( - about 10 minutes stroll to beach and centre of village).
(Note: some of the reviews on here seem to be about a completely different place in Sidari.)

The Dionyssos 1&2 apartments are part of the Rainbow Pool and Bar Resort.
The place is run by two brothers, Jimmy and Spiros, and they could not be more hospitable. They are always up for a laugh and will often provide free shots or drinks! They will do anything for you and really make you feel at home. The food there is lovely, although its worth a trip down to Arillas beach aswell where you'll also find lovely taverna's and restuarants to eat in.
The pool is good, and everything is kept clean and safe.
Although the apartments themselves are small, they are adequate for a couple and provide everything you really need. For a family though, the Nafsika apartments {of the same resort} are alot bigger and comfortable.
Ive been here twice and Ive booked to go again next year for our one year anniversary {we came here on our honeymoon}.
Its the perfect place to say if all you want is to soak up the sun, eat some good food, and relax in a friendly welcoming atmosphere.
Arillas itself is gorgeous and I would gladly go back again and again.

Oh my god, I love this hotel - the rooms are certainly not brilliant but the food and the atmosphere are fantastic. Try their spaghetti bolognaise - only 5 euros! And the full English brekkie - only 3.50 euros. I put on weight from here!
The guys who run the hotel are jimmy and spiros, and the vibe is very family based and extremely entertaining. They take care of their guests and we've been there 3 times now. We always stay here - its a 5 minute walk from the beach and the centre. It is not jam packed with much in the centre - its mostly restaurants and one bar. So don't come here if you're expecting a very lively night life.
Its very suitable for families and couples as there's the sun, sea, sand and cocktails. But its not too bad price wise - you can take £500 for two for a week and buy all your food (self catering), alcohol, tours and gifts. Still, bear in mind, there's no cash points here so take more in sterling or t/chqs to exhange should you need to. And buy your euros at the hotel - you get over the english stock exchange rate at the hotel and another place in the town area.
I had a great holiday and its dead cheap to go. Well worth the money and no other hotel in arillas is worthwhile your time because this is the best. Good luck if you're going and have a good time xxx

Fantastic. Will go back. Rooms were small but plenty of storage space. Spiros and Jimmy are brilliant. The pool is the cleanest I've come across. Beds were hard but you do get used to it. Would have like to stay for another week but they were fully booked. The food was fantastic and the BBQ on Saturday will be remembered for years. I don't normally dance but you get caught up with the mood and cannot possibly just sit there. Nothing was too much trouble for anyone.

We went to this hotel on the basis knowing that we paid next to nothing for a last minute deal, so we were ready to expect the worst. It’s not as bad as people make out to be, the hotel sits right on the beach, breakfast in the morning served till 12 (so you get a bit of a lay in!).
The rooms were very basic but clean, only the larger apartments sleeping 4 or more will have a kitchen area, and they're the rooms that over look the beach.
There are plenty of cheap places just down the road from the hotel to buy drinks and snacks so not having a kitchen wasn’t too much of a problem.
The air-conditioning was a god-send! Free of charge so we couldn’t complain!
The issue with noise...we're not going to lie and say it’s not loud because it is, but not excessively loud that you can’t sleep, we slept through it every night with sat night probably the loudest with new arrivals. It tends to die down around 1ish and then the sleeping can commence!
The loudest thing we found that annoyed us most rather than the music was the sound of motorbikes racing down the strip just outside the hotel - sometimes there was no sound, other nights it can be very frequent.
The hotel staff were very friendly and helped us as much as they could with questions etc but the kosmar staff were crap! They just showed us to our room and left! Not telling us times of breakfasts or any other relevant information that we needed to know before the welcome meeting.
(don’t buy any holiday packages off the reps, go down the street and you’ll find the same deals for around 10euros cheaper!!!)
All in all, we paid for a last minute deal which was very cheap so we didn’t expect anything fancy. One thing we will say is that it would most likely suit couples or groups of friends rather than young families as kids may find it difficult to sleep!
We were very happy in our choice and felt what we paid for was right in the overall aspect of the holiday. Hope this helps!

Oct 2006, Mr K Oconnell

Ignore the Kosmar brochure where it says that because it's in a central location there may be noise, there definitely will be noise.
We stayed here with only 1 week left in the season and we were kept up until 0300 on the 2 nights we stayed here. After 2 days we walked out and paid extra to stay somewhere else. The pub downstairs competes with the other local bars with the loudest music to try and pull in the punters.
The rooms are the most basic I ever seen on any Greek island with no soundproofing to cut out the din. Yes you get a free telly to watch, what is your Greek like as it's all local TV and the TV is mounted 8 foot up so you straining your neck even to see it. The breakfast is very nice but you have to compete with it with the swarms of wasps that pester you all the time. The back of the pension backs onto the beach which is it's only redeeming feature.
Sidari itself is turning itself into a one road pub crawl and if you want a relaxing holiday I suggest you look elsewhere. You have been warned!

Jun 2006, Mr P Symons

Where as the view was to die for, the accommodation was shabby the bed collapsed twice, the furniture was falling apart there was graffiti all over the wardrobe. I reported to the Kosmar rep James there was no bulbs on the bedside lamps on the 2nd day still not replaced when we left 12 days later.
To call this apartment self catering is a downright lie, 3 huge saucepans 2 electric rings one the size of a saucer no toaster no kettle. The kitchen was a passage with no room to eat at the table. The place has not been decorated since Old Shep was a pup.
This was not a cheap holiday we spent over £1500 for 3 adults and a 4 year old.
The "slight noise" from the tavernas was in fact a karaoke bar under the apartment that ran till 0200! The music so loud the windows vibrated.
On arriving at the apartment at 4 am the supposed transfer rep left a young couple with 2 small children struggling up the dark stairwell not even offering to assist. He was so incompetent he did not have a list of where anyone was staying, his customer service skills were zero.
I will think long and hard before I ever use Kosmar again. Please do go to Sidari as the people are friendly warm and generous just do not stop at the Dionyssos.

The apartments are basic but more than adequate for a good holiday. The beds are some of the hardest I have ever slept on, but it's amazing what you can get used to.
The best thing of all about this small complex is the hospitality and welcome provided by the two brothers, Jimmy and Spiros, who run the place. Unfailingly cheerful, they go out of their way to make sure that everyone has a great time. This applies to the staff they employ as well: 'Little' Spiros puts up with being the butt of Spiros' jokes in good part and shows that nothing is too much trouble for the guests.
The food available in the bar by the pool was always first class, but never better than at the Saturday barbecue, which should not be missed - even if you're allergic to Greek dancing.
All in all, as Spiros would say 'Lubbly Jubbly'.
