Sani Asterias Suites Hotel

A friend and I are just back from a stay at the wonderful Sani resort. Wow what a place. We stayed in the top hotel in the resort, the Asterias suites. Wonderful. From the welcome from the gorgeous George , we knew we would feel right at home. The hotel is stylish elegent and yet welcoming. Our room was on the beach with the most lovely view. Stayed with my wife and son (aged 4) at the beginning of May and must say that I am suprised by some of the negative feedback this place has received. Firstly I would mention that this is a five star option. Stars are awarded on facilities and the Asterias Suites justify them, how they are delivered is how you distinguish one hotel from another - Nothing was to much trouble and they seem to have a small team of dedicated and happy staff who looked after us well. Very over-rated. I always use this site before even looking at booking accommodation so was really looking forward to arriving at the Asterias Suites. The house-keeping & turn-down service was very random - sometimes twice a day, sometimes not at all for 3 days. Luxurious rooms with Dr. Haushka goodies with beautiful marina views. I stayed here with my fiancee for 10 days in late Sept. I had done my homework & did realise that this resort catered for children.However on the basis that it was outside of the school holidays we took our chances! Can I say now noisy & unruly children are the least of this hotel's problems! On the positive the suite we had was lovely with access directly onto the beach.Sadly thats where the good news ends! I have read a number of reviews on here, a great many of which seem to be fairly negative towards the presence of Children/Toddlers at the hotel. Having stayed at the Asterias Suites for 2 weeks in September, I would like to express my view as a responsible parent. The key point I would raise is that people should do their homework. We have just returned from a 10 day stay at Asteria Suites. Beautiful hotel, lovely rooms and enormous balconies, staff very friendly and could not do enough to help. The breakfasts were very generous with plenty of choice and would recommend taking breakfast in your room if you can. Lovely private sandy beach [no pebbles] with plenty of sunloungers/parasols, plus waiter service at no extra cost. Sea was great for swimming, not too deep. The Asterias Suites are beautiful. George and his team manage impeccably this 2 year old complex. Wonderfully clean,spacious, tasteful rooms with lovely toiletries and towelling robes. The beach is clean and shallow with clear blue sea. The hotel restaurant and bar are chic and the food is good if pricey. The breakfast is not to be missed. Stayed at Asterias Suites with two children. Our experience was pretty good, with excellent service (we did have a non-working safe box mentioned in other reviews, but it was fixed without delay), good standard room (no stains - unlike the experience mentioned in another review), with a patio and direct access to sea. We have just returned from the Sani Asterias Suites after a 2.5 week stay in a beachfront deluxe suite. The hotel is in a great location with lots of woodland nearby and great beaches. The suite we stayed in was lovely - on the beach with 2 bathrooms, large separate living room and its own small garden. The marina has a selection of different restaurants to try, although quite expensive, they added to the variety of eating places for our stay. We stayed at the asterias suites at the Sani resort, the staff are very welcoming and friendly - in particular the beach staff. I would recommend a suite with direct access to the beach. We stayed for a week in June and the weather was lovely. The bar was very quiet and a little boring so we used to go to the other 5* hotel than was set back from the marina which had more atmosphere. There are plenty of restaurants to try and you can charge your bill back to your room. However beware - you must book for the restaurant at the asterias... more
