We found the Telmessos Hotel to be a damp and dirty place and would advice anybody thinking of travelling there not to.
The staff are rude and unpleasant, the food was awful, the drinks tasted watered down, and that is if they have any.
The rooms was dirty and beds and bed linen damp. And to top it all my 2 year old son got covered in flea bites.
We travelled with Goldtrail and did not see a rep for the 7 days we was there, the two contact telephone numbers just ring and ring.
I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy let alone a friend, awful place.

Clean and basic rooms, pool and gardens kept very clean. Good holiday for a week to ten day’s, a fortnight is too much.
You must haggle for best price in the shop’s and markets they expect it, don’t be ripped off.
A cut throat shave is a must at 2 euros. Mud bath and massage’s are great you feel brand new.
Azda shop is sound for cheap coke, cakes, and sweets. The angel is good for most types of foods.
If staying at the Telmessos you have to smuggle drinks for night time, as reception take them off you also no fridge in room.

We have stayed at this hotel twice so far, once in Sept 2004 and again in May 2005.
We were also meant to have gone in Sept 2006 but had to cancel. But have now booked direct to go in May 2007. There are 22 of us going next year.
The staff and management are extremely friendly and all like to have a good laugh.
The hotel rooms are basic but always clean, but then you only sleep there. The pool is very nice, plenty of sun beds, bar food and service very good.
The town centre is a 2 min walk down a hill, where you will find plenty of places to eat and drink. Lots of shops, where you can get all your holiday bargains. There is also a market once a week just at the bottom of the hill, I do recommend you go, and don’t forget to barter.
I would recommend this hotel to anyone up for a laugh. As you can see this is our third time for our group and we can’t wait.
See you all soon.

This is the worst hotel I've ever stayed in, if you could give it minus points I would!
The bar wasn't fully stocked, even running out of coke & ice! The staff are the worst I've ever met (apart from the cleaners who were lovely!)
I've never been to a hotel where you get water bought from outside confiscated by a totally rude security guard!
My Daughter and her friend had to change rooms 3 times due to dampness & water from the bathroom above going into their bathroom light fitting!
Although we were only B&B (thank God!) we never ate there as the food looked awful!
Bar music very loud at night (even when nobody there drinking!) Although we love Hisaronu & have been there many times needless to say we won't return to that hotel.

I would recommend this hotel to anyone, young couples, and families but if you can’t walk up a rather steep hill you may want to book elsewhere. The service from the staff is fantastic they were really friendly, we had good laugh with them. The pool is lovely and the pool bar does simple but good food. The rooms could be a bit bigger however, but in a gorgeous area such as this you don’t spend much time in your room! They are clean and well maintained.
The town itself has a fantastic night life I highly recommend a bar called Heads Or Tails if you like your cocktails. It’s fantastic in there! Also 2 good restaurants are Malibu (try the sweet and sour chicken its fab!) and The Piano, this one is a bit more expensive so we only went once but boy was it worth the money!
My boyfriend and I went for 2 weeks and had the most amazing holiday. We did so much and had such an unforgettable holiday; we will most definitely be going back to this hotel in the near future!

I've stayed at the Telmessos twice now and enjoyed it both times. In fact - I've booked to have my wedding there in May 2007!
The staff are extremely friendly and will go out of their way to give you any assistance you need.
Food is good, although we only had dinner there one evening as we tended to head into town. Breakfast is a standard Turkish buffet of feta, bread, eggs, fruit, olives etc. Drinks at the bar are more or less the same as the other bars in town.
The rooms are basic, but clean and more than you need to have a shower and sleep! Make sure you hand your key into reception or your room won't be cleaned.
The pool is a good size, plenty of sun loungers, and a nice little Jacuzzi too!
We had an absolutely fantastic time there and are taking 60 guests with us in May so that speaks for itself really!
The only downside is the steep hill into town - but the good side of that is that there is no noise at all from the busy nightlife in the town.

Booked for the Marcan (sister hotel across the road as had stayed there in the summer). Arrived to find us booked into the Telmessos as the Marcan was closed for the winter.
In comparison, the rooms in the Telmessos are much smaller, less storage, tiny bathroom/shower. Considering the price is the same for each hotel, I would recommend staying over at The Marcan as the rooms are far better in terms of space.
The family who own both are friendly and will do anything they can to help or improve your holiday. Particular praise should be given to Zafer (Victor) for his endless days, kindness and generosity.
Hisaronu itself closes down in October, some of the places were boarded up. The weather is still good, it was in the high 20's but be warned, the temp drops to only a few degrees at night, take winter woolies.
Have been in either the Marcan or Telmessos 4 times in the past year, going back in September. I have found I'm not the only repeat customer, there are many, I guess that speaks for itself.

First time we have stayed at Telmessos, as the 2 times before we have been at Pine Hills, just down the road. We arrived at about 2:00 am,(with the temperature in the 20's!) and were welcomed by the staff and taken to our rooms, which were basic, but clean, well decorated and quite a good size. We had a lovely pool view, which overlooked the mountains.
In the day-plenty of sunbeds, and the pool was fantastic. Temperature was mid 40's every day,(which at times was too much when trying to walk up the hill to the hotel) Food at poolside restaurant was ok-but i recommend Ready Steady Cook, for cheap as chips meals that are 100x better, as well as Robin Hood, Dragonaro Chinese and dippy dollys.
Staff at Telmessos are friendly, but it seemed only because that was there job. In comparison to staff at Pine hills, they weren’t a patch. I seriously suggest going there as the Reef Bar is the best in town, entertainment is second to none and My boyfriend of over 2 years Sherif does the best cocktails in Hisaronu.
Overall, the 8 of us (4xfamily,3x friends) had a great time, and if u don’t mind a trek up a steep hill everyday to the hotel-Telmessos is a brilliant place to stay.

Second time to Hisaronu. We stayed at the sister hotel The Marcan the first time. Hotel is great, ideal location as its just off the main street, beware its up a small steepest hill.
The staff are always ready to please and are all very friendly. The hotel operates a card payment system; we paid our bill half way through our holiday, so no big shocks towards the end.
They also say no food or drink from the outside to be brought in, I don’t agree with this unreasonable rule.
The pool is clean as are the grounds and the views are brilliant. Go to The Lycian Centre at the bottom of the hill for drinks, entertainment etc. The staff Hakan, Aderm, Zola and the boys are great and always smiling.
The Turkish Ivy on the street is a good place to eat and book your trips from Explora, don’t forget to have a deal. The Jeep Safari is excellent with Sahan the main guide, who knows lots of info on the places he takes you; don’t forget to take sweets for the local children and a water pistol for more fun.
Also do The Dalyan Mud Baths, another great day out. Markets are on Monday in Hisaronu and Tuesday in Fethiye.
We go back in September, can’t wait. Hope this helps. Happy Holidays.
