Fantastic hotel, would recommend to anyone
from LuckyReigate
We've just returned from a weeks' holiday here and can't wait to go back. This was our 4th visit (sad, we know!) and we weren't disappointed. It was the first time we'd taken our 2 year old and she absolutely loved it. The staff are brilliant - really friendly and helpful, nothing is too much trouble. The rooms are great for families as you get 2 rooms; a large bedroom with cot (ours had a proper wooden cot, not just a travel cot), and a large living room with sofabed. Also there's a kitchenette area with fridge, 2 ring cooker and microwave, sink etc and a dining table and chairs so you can prepare kids' meals in the room if, like ours, they are restaurant resistant! And there's a DVD player and TV. We had a pool view room on the ground floor with its own little patio and garden area with chairs, table & sunloungers. The pool is lovely, plenty of comfy sunloungers around and 2 toddlers pools which shelve gently for little paddlers. We also discovered there's now a creche for babies from 18 months upwards at the sister hotel next door which isn't advertised on their website yet, run by a very experienced English girl with a great team of staff who will also babysit in your room. The resort itself is great - set around a marina so no traffic to avoid - you can walk out of the hotel and have a choice of numerous restaurants and bars, all within easy walking distance. The beach is a short walk (or complimentary buggy ride) away and is beautifully clean with crystal clear sea, great for little ones. All in all a fantastic holiday and we would reccomend it to anyone.
Superb

The most immaculately clean place we have ever stayed. Service was superb in every way. We loved it . They did not give us a room near the pool as we had requested but at the Marina instead, which was pleasant but not convenient for the hotel amenities. However the manager put this right after the first night and upgraded us as well. Slight downside was that at weekends the "private " beach is not private as we found the reserved section was taken over by many people who were obviously not staying at the hotel and had not been challenged or asked to move. Also at weekends the music blaring from the bar on the public part of the beach near to the Sani Beach Club was very loud. Ask about boat trips as there are complimentary ones which were not well advertised and we only learned of them from overhearing other guests talking. Unfortunately cannot agree with praise about the Tomata restaurant. We had the set menu there on the dine around scheme and it was dreadful, as was the service. We didn`t go back. Try the Macaroni Italian instead. Great food and service there.
Perfect peace, and kids looked after for free!!!

We (wife, daughter, aged four and myself) have just returned from a 10 day stay at Porto Sani Village. In a word - excellent. I chose the Porto Sani Village after alot of internet searching, and review reading, and it exceeded expectations in virtually all respects. Firstly - service. Without question this was the star quality of the Porto Sani Village. From the moment you arrive, you are looked after. The staff are fantastic. Exceptional! Yes, as another reviewer commented, the staff are largely European (Romanian, Russian, Estonian) but all spoke good English and were extrmely courteous and attentive. Secondly, food. Just dont go there expecting to lose weight! As half board accomodation, with "dine around", you get a great choice of restaurants on the marina, and also the main restaurant in the Porto Sani village. We tried a couple of the marina restaurants which were great, but preferred to eat mostly at the Artemis restaurant at Porto Sani itself. Why? Quality of food and service. Just excellent, as are the breakfasts. Thirdly, the resort itself. The pools are beautiful, the Spa fantastic, the beaches are blue flag beaches, there are watersports. Its a place to relax. We tried most of the watersports, and played tennis, used the spa often. This is a place to go to relax, and chill. Yes, also have a look at the local villages which can be quite picturesque. . Fourthly - child care. Every afternoon we put our 4 year old girl into the Melissa child club. This is based by the main hotel and is about a 10 minute walk from the Porto Sani Village. The club is run by English people. They are brillaint, and after her first visit, she was keen to return. They do swimming, painting, play games etc. The club is available for morning, afternoon and also evening sessions and if your children are over 4, the care is free. Highly recommended. So if you are looking for an excellent resort, beautiful, clean, relaxing, children looked after, beautiful location, excellent staff, then this really is the place to go.
Family get away private and exclusive

We stayed in a deluxe apartment with the kitchen as a necesity with two children under 5. The reception, spa and dining area were 5* with wonderful piano and flautist entertainment of an evening, very quiet and private. We went at the end of August so were surprised that the pool was not full of children. The baby pool was very good for babies of all ages up to 5 with 2 other pools good for swimmers. The hotel supplied blow up toys. Dissapointingly the sunbeds did not have the thick pads on that they show in the picture, although a small thing it was a necesity as I was heavily pregnant and that helped sway my booking. Rooms a little tight and a bit of a bind having roomservice have to come to make up the childrens bed. The sofa not very comfy either. Other downpoints were:- Some of the restaurants at the marina were a little unfreindly, and as it is the only place to walk to we tended to stay away. There was some confusion with the vouchers supplied from the hotel for meal times. Problems with bees - nests all over the place - take sting medication! Kids club is not on site and your children are taken to a nearby hotel - who knows what goes on there. I did brave it and let my little girl go once with a friend but as I am a nervous mum I could not let myself do it again. I got gastro enteritus, believe it to have stemed from some dodgy prawns at a cliffside restaurant at a neighbouring hotel. Positives:- A nice quiet relaxing luxury hotel (apart from the rooms) where you can enjoy sea sun and swimming and a good read. Staff very helpful. I would recommend it, and if you have a family and can afford it book two adjoining suites for the extra space.

The Sani complex is spread out over a large area, consists of Sani Beach 4*, Porto Sani 5*, Sani Maina 5* and Asterias 5*. As there is noting to do outside the resort, it is designed like a self-contained village, with many pools and recreational facilities, many restaurants and a few bars. Don't be fooled by all the stars, this resort obviously targets mass tourism (mainly families with children and old couples) I stayed at Porto Sani Village (in the Marina suites) for 2 nights in October, as part of a large staff gathering my company holds each year. While the main building (Sani Beach) rooms are 4*, the Porto Sani & Sani Marina suites are supposed to be 5*. Reading this review, have in mind that it was the end of season (hotel closes end October), but this is not an excuse for shortcomings of a 5* hotel. My room at the Marina was spacious, but not up to standard. The mini bar was almost empty, and the bath towels were way to small, more like face towels. Moreover, upon exiting the room I came upon a large stack of old plastic cartons with empty beer and coke bottles, probably belonging to the restaurant next door, but nevertheless an ugly sight. They should have stored the rubbish out of sight... As we ate only at the main Sani Beach building -not the Porto Sani and Marina restaurants- I can only comment on the FB basis food which was at best mediocre and mass produced. Finally, one of the downsides was that most of the staff were foreign (mostly Bulgarian), it was very difficult to communicate with them, and being Greek in a Greek hotel, I found this very annoying. All in all, go if you get a really good price for BB as you will probably prefer not to eat FB meals, and there seems to be a good selection of nice restaurants to chose from. (I am told the "Ntomata" restaurant is outstanding). If you want 5* service and luxury, don't go.
Wow

We originally were booked to stay at the Sani beach club but were fortunate enough to upgrade to Porto sani village and wow was it worth it. We were celebrating our 5th anniversary with an 18 month old so we wanted luxury and friendliness - did we get it. The resort staff can not do enough for you. Our typical day was an 8am breakfast at the restaurant which caters great for everyone - we are vegetarian and we had no complaints. Then we'd take a walk around the beach and then to the wonderful beach. As this is an ecological resort there is seaweed on the beach but this is just ideal for al the little fishes my daughter could see in the clear shallow water. Id definitely recommends this place to anyone looking to stay in a resort and relax. The restaurants are amazing - every single one, yes NTomata has THE best desserts ever but one is really spoilt for choice. There wre quite a few honeymooners here as well who loved it. I was bitten by mosquitoes but I used repellent on my daughter and she was fine so don’t worry and the wasps are not an issue yes they are flying around but we weren’t bitten once. Go and enjoy a truly 5 star break x
We would go back again, and again, and again

As soon as we arrived in Thessaloniki airport we knew that we had booked a great place. With a warm welcome and an introduction to our driver it was obvious that service was of paramount importance to Sani. On arrival we were invited to relax with champagne whilst completing our registration card, following this we were escorted to our room by a member of the Sani team who used the time to talk us through the resort and its facilities. The accommodation was excellent, the maids who came twice a day were the most polite and thorough that I have ever met. Dinner at the Artemis restaurant was very good. All starters were selected from an extensive buffet of both hot and cold starters. Mains varied daily and were of a high standard although weren’t always delivered hot. We took advantage of the dine around programme a number of times. This gave us a credit of 25 Euro per adult for a la carte which we were unable to spend in full on more than one occasion! The often review Tomato restaurant served a wide range of delicious food. Be sure to leave plenty of space for the deserts as they are to die for! The only let down was the traditional Greek Oyzerie where we found the service was both slow and unfriendly. The private beach is super, regardless of the time of day the beach was never busy. With such a gentle slope of the sand it is very safe giving youngsters a lot of playing area whilst staying well within their depth. This resort has miles and miles of beach, which makes for a very pleasant walk, especially if you take the forest route back. Watch out in the forest as this is a natural habitat for tortoises which are often only a few inches long. The children’s club went down well with our children, during our two-week stay they went twice a day virtually everyday. The staff must be doing something right. We were unfortunate to have three or four days of rain and showers but all was not lost. With the kids club and spa to keep the rest of the family it certainly wasnt time lost from our holiday. The only drawbacks that we found were the wasps and the lack of things to do of an evening. Although the wasps weren’t as bad as some reviews suggested they were a constant pest. Three out of four of us were stung and screams from youngsters at the pool were not uncommon. In summary this is a very welcoming and relaxing resort set in a beautiful location which I will no doubt be returning to in the coming years.
Total pleasure

We had a totally pleasurable experience at the Porto Sani Village. The accommodation was excellant, the resort overall was spotlessly clean and the service was faultless. We needed a relaxing holiday with everything close at hand because my wife has recently suffered a major Multiple Sclerosis attack, we certainly got what we needed.

From the moment our taxi pulls up at the reception of Porto Sani, all stresses slip from our shoulders and we can’t help but smile. We know that shortly we will be greeted with kisses and embraces by the extremely professional (and beautiful) Alexandra, Porto’s Guest Relations Manager. My daughter and I first visited Sani in 2001 and fell in love with it so much that we’ve returned each year since. We always choose a suite with a balcony-ideal for enjoying a glass of the delicious local wine, before dressing for dinner. The rooms are light and airy-stylishly decorated with plenty of wardrobe space for two ladies who don’t travel lightly! If, like us, you want a relaxing holiday, Sani provides an idyllic location in which to completely ‘wind down.’ The stunning beaches of Asterias and Bousoulas (one quiet and one more lively-with great music) are both sophisticated and very stylish. The Bousoulas beach bar is famous in Halkidiki! Try lunch at the Ammos Bar at Asterias beach. They serve very tasty ‘finger food.’ The marina has many attractions with tempting shops, an indulgent patisserie and a good choice of cafés. It’s a very sociable place to sit in the evening with a cocktail and enjoy some time ‘people watching.’ Last summer my teenage daughter and I spent a blissful morning in Porto’s Spa being completely pampered by wonderful therapists. For dinner we usually choose Porto’s main restaurant, Artemis. The new terrace is lovely when the sun is setting. Occasionally we treat ourselves to a meal in Byblos, the gourmet restaurant, which has great views of the pools (beautifully lit at night.) Yiannis Demblas and Asterios Drossos make perfect hosts and the food in each restaurant is delicious. If dining in Byblos, I would recommend the lamb and the crème brulee. To die for! Sani constantly lures you back, whether you want a romantic hideaway, a family break (children are superbly catered for) or an active, sport-based holiday. In the evenings, you have the freedom to choose from the Sani Cultural Festival, beautiful walks, the Bousoulas beach parties, or the family entertainment at the Sani Beach Hotel. Sani’s natural assets have been developed in an aesthetically sympathetic manner, but it’s greatest asset is it’s family of staff. Kevin Kainz; the charismatic Guest Relations Director; charming Nikos Vettas- the very creative Bar manager; lovely Alexandra and Nadia at reception; sweet Angelina; gentlemanly Kostas the gardener and all the great friends we’ve made over the years make a stay at Sani as relaxed and easy as you could wish. Many friends and colleagues have stayed at Porto Sani on our recommendation and happily spread the word about a truly blessed location in which to take a much deserved holiday.
Fantastic resort. Would recommend to anyone

We have just returned from a week at Porto Sani, Halkidiki. The resort is visually stunning and customer service quality is excellent yet conducted in a calm, relaxed atmosphere. This was a return visit for us and it was fantastic to meet up with people who work at the resort that we have now come to think of as friends. The resort sits on the edge of a marina with many shops and restaurants providing high quality food at resonable prices. Porto Sani also boasts excellent restaurants, a SPA which is out of this world and a fantastic swimming pool complex that caters for all ages. The visual effect is stunning. Overall, this is a fantastic resort that we would recommend to everybody. You will not be dissapointed
