Submitted By: Ms Jayne EvansThe resort of Polychrono is very friendly, my friend and I had two teenage girls with us, who were safe to wander the resort themselves and as two women alone, we felt very safe here.
The staff at the Fanis are friendly and make you feel very welcome, especially Dinos who looks after the bar, he is a laugh a minute and full of energy and enthusiasm, he also ensured the teenagers didn't drink too much!!
The best bar on the resort is the Golden Bar situated at the end of the beach (near the water sports facilities). You can spend from dawn til dusk on their sunbeds with no charge as long as you order a couple of drinks through the day and with the hot weather you need them. Nicos looks after everyone on the beach by day and plays the DJ role by night, he has excellent english and loves chatting. The bar staff here are all entertainers and get everyone laughing with their antics, especially around 3am onwards, the bar only closes when the last person leaves, and can still be quite full at 4am.
The most authentic greek restaurant we found was the Summer Garden, back off the beach front, it offered a wide variety of authentic dishes all home cooked and very good quality.
We will be back next year, only this time we are planning a fortnight, a week is just not long enough.

" If you want a lovely relaxing holiday... "
Submitted By: Miss Claire HAsteWe arrived there late afternoon to be greeted by Dino the bar man who took our suitcases and checked us into our rooms. The rooms are cleaned everyday clean towels every other day and beds changed! Very clean! We ate out every night so didn’t use the kitchen but facilities were excellent!
There is the option of getting a safe but they are kept behind reception not in rooms but they do recommend you get one!
Ignore everything you hear about the pool rumours! The staff are fine with rings in the pool but not lilos! To be fair the sea is about 15 footsteps from the pool so if you have kids with inflatables they can go in the sea! The sea is a gorgeous blue and very clean you can see your feet in the water! The sand is rough and can get very hot so flip flops is a must!
The staff are excellent so good with kids and very keen to help! They made us feel welcome from day one and made our stay very very relaxing!
If you are wanting to eat our there are bars and little restaurants and taverns to the right and left of the apartments! Food is great! If you want a bit more of a night life go down the next town called Hanioti there are more bars and a few night clubs there! If you ask Deano he will ring you a taxi or you can just walk up the hill and wait for one its cost us about 5 Euros to get there!
The entertainment and Fanis is relaxed they do a karaoke night and a quiz night which is really funny - Dino tends to help you out with the questions!
Our rep was Zoe! She was fantastic we forgot to set our alarm for a trip and we got refunded of the money even though it was our fault!
I recommend the sunset cruise for a trip if you want a romantic night on a boat! - But do not go on the shopping trip they basically dump you in the next town 4 six hours and the shops were hard to find!
When we went there was a heat wave which made it very very hot but with the pool there and the beach only footsteps away its paradise!
Try and get a sea view when you book the view is unbelievable how close you are to the beach!
Over all this is the most relaxing holiday we have ever been on I would love to go back again it’s a holiday for all ages and family’s!
Sorry for the big essay but it’s an amazing place and we will be going back!

" This year, I had a fantastic 2 week... "
Submitted By: Miss F SpittlehouseI'm only 16 and my favourite part was the fact that there is no drinking age in Greece so I could enjoy a nice cold beer. The surrounding area is not loud and not suitable for those hoping for a night life - Hanioti is a place for that. I have my GCSE exams this year, so I have the chance to go on holiday earlier which means a cheaper, quieter and more relaxing holiday. I am returning to The Fanis Apartments next year on the 3rd of July for two weeks along with more family. I can't wait.
I would definitely recommend this place.
P.S look out for dolphins at ANY time of the day!

Submitted By: Mrs A AndersonIt is a family run hotel by Sakis and his wife, they were so friendly anything we needed we only had to ask. And as for Deano our barman, he is a fantastic guy and will be a friend for life.
All the fun and the friendliness made us rebook to go back next year, we can’t wait. The hotel is very clean and the garden and pool are well maintained.

" HERS:
We've just come... "
We've just come back from a fantastic 2 weeks in Polycrono; it was much quieter than we'd anticipated being the 2nd week of September. Weather was good all but 2 days, any later could be a risk of bad weather. The Fanis is so close to the beach it's fantastic.
A word of warning however is if you're lucky enough to get a sea view as we were, be prepared you're on top of the bar which is open till 2am. The rooms are clean and tidy with a hairdryer for the ladies. The family were really welcoming and a lovely atmosphere, you couldn’t really want anymore. Anybody fancying scuba diving should contact Odyssey diving in Palliouri, english based and fab. Enjoy, we did.
HIS:
Weather excellent. The Fanis is very clean, they obviously take a pride in their hotel, the plumbing is terrible as is most of Greece but the toilets do flush eventually. Hire a car it the perfect time to learn driving abroad the road is straight and empty! Take ear plugs with a sea view room over the bar but some slack pants for all the lovely food and the Greek hospitality which is second to none.
An excellent time and great for diving. Fabulous sandwich shop at the top of the hill, we think its called yum yum. For those of you wanting a bit more liveliness, Hanioti is a bit livelier and is only a short taxi ride away.

Submitted By: Mrs P A BatesThe apartments were run by lovely people, very friendly and very helpful. The rooms were kept clean - we thank the housekeeping staff for a job well done.
The area and the grounds of the apartments were excellent, we couldn’t have picked a more prettier place to stay. The shops and the restaurants were very good too; if you love Greek food they are wonderful.
For those who want English cooking try the cockney cafe a few blocks away well worth it. Thanks again Fanis for a lovely holiday.

" Just arrived back in the UK after... "
Submitted By: Miss A GrahamMe and my boyfriend are both 19 and were a bit worried about the night life not being up to much, which was true, however we were looking for a more restful break and this was ideal for us, we were not board once.
The family are so welcoming and giving it is such a nice atmosphere. The rooms are fantastic size and we had a pool/sea view which was beautiful seen as how the sea was literally 10 steps from the room! The bar serves great food but the drinks are a little expensive.
We hired out a mo-ped from a local rental place, (my bf drove as he has lots of experience) I wouldn’t recommend if it is a first for you.
I really enjoyed this as we were able to drive to the next town (Hanioti) not on the main roads but on the old streets which was gorgeous cruising next to the sea. Most nights we chilled out on the balcony then went to a couple of bars for drinks.
I fully recommend the sunrise bar which plays old 80s love songs, it’s so chilled out and the bar staff are lovely; they brought us free food and stuff. I think if you can drive then it would be ideal to rent out a car to explore the island further.
Overall a fab place if you’re looking to totally chill out and relax.

" Fanis apartments is exactly what we... "
Submitted By: Miss K L BaileyThe pool at fanis is shallow but still swim able if you are an adult but the beach being 5ft away from the hotel gates solves that problem! We saw dolphins swimming very close to the shore on our last day there too right opposite our hotel!
The staff are very friendly and good with kids - the atmosphere is brilliant and make lovely cheese toasties!
The only downfall is no toaster and we could of done with a little more cupboard to put clothes but overall its the best holiday I have ever been on!
ps the area is very romantic as well.
