Sep 2007, Mrs MA Sanders

After booking this last minute holiday we were so surprise when we reached the apartments Fanis what a lovely surprise. The pics on the internet and the brochure do not do these lovely clean apartments any justice.
The staff are great and the complex is in such a great location they are very clean and kept very well maintained.
The resort is right on the door step with a great choice of places to eat Aypa was our fav and the cockney cafe have great staff and do a lovely tasty breakfast not to mention there mixed grill!
All in all this was a great choice and would go back again and again!

If you want a lovely relaxing holiday...

Aug 2007, Miss C Haste

If you want a lovely relaxing holiday with a romantic night life and fantastic view of the sea go stay at the Fanis!
We arrived there late afternoon to be greeted by Dino the bar man who took our suitcases and checked us into our rooms. The rooms are cleaned everyday clean towels every other day and beds changed! Very clean! We ate out every night so didn’t use the kitchen but facilities were excellent!
There is the option of getting a safe but they are kept behind reception not in rooms but they do recommend you get one!
Ignore everything you hear about the pool rumours! The staff are fine with rings in the pool but not lilos! To be fair the sea is about 15 footsteps from the pool so if you have kids with inflatables they can go in the sea! The sea is a gorgeous blue and very clean you can see your feet in the water! The sand is rough and can get very hot so flip flops is a must!
The staff are excellent so good with kids and very keen to help! They made us feel welcome from day one and made our stay very very relaxing!
If you are wanting to eat our there are bars and little restaurants and taverns to the right and left of the apartments! Food is great! If you want a bit more of a night life go down the next town called Hanioti there are more bars and a few night clubs there! If you ask Deano he will ring you a taxi or you can just walk up the hill and wait for one its cost us about 5 Euros to get there!
The entertainment and Fanis is relaxed they do a karaoke night and a quiz night which is really funny - Dino tends to help you out with the questions!
Our rep was Zoe! She was fantastic we forgot to set our alarm for a trip and we got refunded of the money even though it was our fault!
I recommend the sunset cruise for a trip if you want a romantic night on a boat! - But do not go on the shopping trip they basically dump you in the next town 4 six hours and the shops were hard to find!
When we went there was a heat wave which made it very very hot but with the pool there and the beach only footsteps away its paradise!
Try and get a sea view when you book the view is unbelievable how close you are to the beach!
Over all this is the most relaxing holiday we have ever been on I would love to go back again it’s a holiday for all ages and family’s!
Sorry for the big essay but it’s an amazing place and we will be going back!

Just arrived back in the UK after...

Jul 2007, Miss A Graham

Just arrived back in the UK after spending a fantastic week in Polychrono at the Fanis Apartments.
Me and my boyfriend are both 19 and were a bit worried about the night life not being up to much, which was true, however we were looking for a more restful break and this was ideal for us, we were not board once.
The family are so welcoming and giving it is such a nice atmosphere. The rooms are fantastic size and we had a pool/sea view which was beautiful seen as how the sea was literally 10 steps from the room! The bar serves great food but the drinks are a little expensive.
We hired out a mo-ped from a local rental place, (my bf drove as he has lots of experience) I wouldn’t recommend if it is a first for you.
I really enjoyed this as we were able to drive to the next town (Hanioti) not on the main roads but on the old streets which was gorgeous cruising next to the sea. Most nights we chilled out on the balcony then went to a couple of bars for drinks.
I fully recommend the sunrise bar which plays old 80s love songs, it’s so chilled out and the bar staff are lovely; they brought us free food and stuff. I think if you can drive then it would be ideal to rent out a car to explore the island further.
Overall a fab place if you’re looking to totally chill out and relax.

Fanis apartments is exactly what we...

Jun 2007, Miss K L Bailey

Fanis apartments is exactly what we thought it would be, perfect! To the right of the hotel as you come out are lots of lovely shop and side streets and some lovely restaurants - including the aupya fish restaurant lovely food!
The pool at fanis is shallow but still swim able if you are an adult but the beach being 5ft away from the hotel gates solves that problem! We saw dolphins swimming very close to the shore on our last day there too right opposite our hotel!
The staff are very friendly and good with kids - the atmosphere is brilliant and make lovely cheese toasties!
The only downfall is no toaster and we could of done with a little more cupboard to put clothes but overall its the best holiday I have ever been on!
ps the area is very romantic as well.

We have three children 2, 4 and 10. The resort and apartment were everything and more we could have hoped for.
The rooms are spacious and clean. All the staff go out of their way to make your holiday fab. We felt extremely safe and comfortable for our children’s welfare.
The pool is safe and clean, lots of sunbeds [no sunbed grabbing here].
Because of small amount of rooms you are a name here not a number. Dinos, the barman is superb, ask him for advice as to where to go if hiring a car.
The restaurants are affordable [around £6/£7 a main meal]. Hanioti, we found is more lively if you're after nightlife.
You will have a brilliant time here unless you go out of your way not to.

I stayed in the Fanis for two weeks....

I stayed in the Fanis for two weeks. The apartments is family run and all the hotel staff are so friendly and will do anything for you during your stay. The apartments are clean, in a good location and are of a good standard seeing they are only a three star. I went with my partner and we are in our twenty's so found the resort a little bit quite even though we had a laugh at our hotel bar which does cocktails, beer etc.
The best restaurant to eat out in is viva as it has the best sea view whilst you are eating and is really well priced. We did the Mount Athos boat trip which was a bit long especially if you have children and you don’t get much time at Mount Athos to explore and shop. But the boat journey is good. There are some nice resorts to visit so I would recommend hiring a car before you go. The beaches are beautiful and clean.
I think Halkidiki has lots of character and charm and is worth a visit for all ages. Not a clubbing holiday but if you want a bit of night life stay in Hanioti. I would love to go back to the Fanis as we had such a nice time and felt very welcome and it is cheap there too.

I’m 14yrs old and had a wonderful 2week holiday. All of the staff were very friendly in the family run apartment, especially deano and sakis.
The apartment was very clean and spacious and we had a lovely sea view. We were only a 1 minute walk from the beach and it was a little walk to the shops and restaurants, what more could you want for a perfect holiday.
Everyone there was friendly, the pool was clean and a nice size. There were plenty of sun beds to relax on, and if you wanted to see more shops and restaurants then whoever was at the reception was always happy to phone for a taxi for you to go into hanioti which only usually cost around 5 or 6 euros.
The Fanis bar had a quiz night and funky disco night once each week and served nice meals for if you didn’t want to go to a restaurant or your apartment for food. Every night it was nice just to go back there for a drink.
I would recommend going to the steak house, and kleanthis for food, there was also a very nice restaurant which we enjoyed, and got a big chocolate pancake for free after each meal there, but we cant remember the name of it all I can say to recognise it, is that all of the men had pink shirts on, it was called something like Falegra.

Overall I had an excellent holiday and am hoping to go back with my family again next year even though the bush fires have happened in polichrono and hanioti.
I would recommend this holiday to anyone who is looking for a relaxing time away.

This is a great place to stay the Fanis family are super and look after you really well. The apartments are in a great location right on the beach, the apartments are looked after so well . We have booked to return next year in 2007.
Lots of lovely restaurants along the front Galini is our favourite restaurant followed closely by the Gardens restaurant. On the whole the resort is lovely 2 weeks is not long enough for us.
Highly recommended.

We returned to Fanis this summer as it is a lovely family orientated hotel situated in a calm and relaxing resort.
Also, the resort of Polychrono is safe enough to allow teenagers to go out without adults on an evening, and I think perhaps that is why we enjoy this resort and hotel so much as parents do not have to worry so much about their children’s safety.

Just returned from a 2 week holiday at Fanis Apartments. Family run, very clean and spacious.
Pool was lovely, perhaps it would have been better if more space was available to sunbathe - although the beach is near enough to use and was a delight. Only fault perhaps, was having to get up really early to "book” a sun bed around the pool area.
Every day people were getting up, claiming their beds - but not actually using them until late morning, or even later. Resort clean, with lots of excellent places to eat. Just missing a few bars were perhaps they would play Greek music and maybe dance occasionally.

Just returned from 1 week staying here at the Fanis apartments in Polychrono. The apartments are excellent extremely clean with very friendly staff wanting to ensure you have a good holiday.
The location is superb with the apartments close to all the resorts tavernas & facilities & the walk to the beach is just 2 or 3 paces. Very friendly & ideal for couples & young families preferring a quieter more relaxed holiday.
I would recommend these apartments & would definitely return in the future or recommend friends & family do.

Loved it here been to Polychrono...

Loved it here been to Polychrono before not to the Fanis. Highly recommended took my 6 year old grandchild who was safe and also loved it. Family are fantastic, but as another reviewer mentioned he hopes the Brits don’t spoil it, I think it is inevitable whilst there a few undesirables arrived ( the Gatwick flight) loud, horrible, teenagers who gave poor old Mr. Fanis a hard time throwing water around the apartments then running away laughing.
A couple came with 2 teenage girls that had faces like smacked bums they complained about a few rules that I welcomed e.g. no inflatables in the pool too right the pool isn’t huge, no I don’t want a lilo in my face. why don’t you people go to Benidorm leave a decent place run by decent people alone.
The resort is very Greek, the Greeks holiday there, It ad barely changed in the 5years since I was last there and 20 years before that, I hope it does not become too commercialised.
