Anse Soliel Beachcomber is a fantastic place to stay. We stayed here for 5 nights and this was our first time to the Seychelles.
The hotel is at the end of a very steep and bumpy road, so you will need a car (or better still a 4 wheel drive!) if you want to go exploring the rest of the island. The hotel is about a 45-minute drive from the capital Victoria and about 35 minutes from the airport. The most direct route is over the mountain roads, but be careful, the roads are very steep with lots of bends, and in places have no barrier between the road and a very steep drop down the mountain!!
There are only 10 rooms - 5 standard and 5 deluxe. So it is a very cosy intimate hotel with personal service.
Our room was very nice, there were tropical flowers on the bed and in the bathroom when we checked in. The rooms were always very clean. We had air-con, TV, a large bathroom, fridge etc.
The most amazing thing about this hotel is the amazing beach it is on. It has soft pale cream sand, and the sea is a very warm turquoise green. The beach has huge granite boulders at the edges and forest behind it. It is hard to describe how beautiful it is. You can also watch the giant fruit bats fly over the forest at sunset!
The breakfasts were nice here though not a lot of choice. We had a plate of exotic fruits and then a choice of either pancakes or eggs and toast. You also get mango juice and tea or coffee. The restaurant is open air, so you may need insect repellent in the evenings. For lunch there is a choice of light snacks like toasted sandwiches and chips.
Dinner had a good choice, things like curries, Chinese food, plenty of fish dishes and a good choice of plainer dishes if you don’t like spicy food.
There isn’t a separate bar area but there is a small lounge area and each room has its own patio with table and chairs.
Staff are very friendly and helpful. They will help you with arranging transport if you need it.
Take a small torch with you though, the car park is very dark, and so are most other hotel/restaurant car parks, there is not much streetlighting in Mahe!!
I would definitely recommended this hotel, it is a lovely hotel in an amazing location.
