More Traveller Reviews of Beverly Park Hotel
OAP Heaven

I was very dubious when we arrived as Airtours had over booked the accommodation we booked and put us in this hotel a week before we were due to travel. The room was small and basic but clean. The hotel staff were nice except for a couple of the people on reception who seemed to have an attitude towards the English. The average age of person staying in the hotel must have been 65 and there were a lot of Germans (think of the carlsberg advert). The food was basic, a lot of meat in gravy, after 3 days we stared to notice all the food at dinner pretty much tasted the same. We laughed at the entertainment hall as it reminded us of a school cafeteria and the entertainment was aimed at the OAPs. Overall we loved the resort but we would definately suggest giving the hotel a miss if you are under 35 . If you go you must visit the karaoke Irish bar in the Kasbar, great fun and fantastic atmosphere and the staff will keep you entertained even if the people who sing don't.
fab weather!!!!

Stayed At Beverley Park 5th Feb - 12th feb. First impressions outside really nice rooms are basic but comfortable - had great seaview room 330. Food was ok and seemed to get better each day. Pools were freezing but jacuzzis were nice. Entertainment was on the poor side especially for the younger generation mostly pedro on the piano singing mainlyy spanish songs and the older end dancing. The best thing about the holiday was the weather went up in the eighties at times and we got a good tan. In the evening you will need sleeves as it is cooler. All in all a good holiday but when the weather is good we can enjoy almost anywhere!
It's Noisy

Hi, My girlfriend and I stayed here for a week starting on New Years Day. All was well until the night time where we could hear everything that was going on next door. In fact we had no sleep due to the folk next door snoring and other activities taking place ! such is the sound proofing. We even tried to sleep with our pillows on the bottom of the bed! but that did not help. We were on the third floor. Having said that we spoke to our Thompson rep and we were moved to floor 5 - which was slightly better - but we put up with the noise for 3 nights - which was a big mistake. Rooms are shabby but very clean. Food is excellent and the pools are great. If your of good health then getting around is no problem - but as others have said there are many steps to climb leaving the hotel to get to the beach which is a good beach. Using the bus is easy and cheap - with regular buses. Overall hotel is a 3 star - sort out the room noise and it would be much better. Watch out for the bar staff - your bill will say 6 Euro but they will charge you 7 or 8 - be on your guard. Only tip if you feel the need to. In the Restaurant - don't forget your room key as you will need it to prove that you are in the hotel etc Don't wear shorts to dinner as you will be turned away as were many of the guests - trousers only etc The restaurant will sell you wine with your food - watch out - they sell the same wine as in the shops and add 10 Euros to it!

Dining room waiters, reception staff ,maid service, absolutely excellent a credit to the establishment.Poolside and well maintained garden areas are also excellent. However some waiters were rude and seemed to have attitude towads all inclusive guests. It seems to me that because there were different arrangements in place for each holiday company this resulted in resentment by the staff being aimed at the all-inclusive customer. In my experience it is usual for the all-inclusive holiday maker to give gratuities at the end of the holiday whereas the package holiday maker tends to tip for each service they receive; this meant that we received an inferior service on the basis of tipping alone. It seems to me that it is very unusual for a hotel not to be totally all-inclusive, probably because of the reasons that I have highlighted. The hotel also advertises 3 pools, one being heated, all 3 pools were freezing and could not be used. The disco that was advertised was also closed for our two weeks stay,it was opened on new years eve but the evening was all in spanish.(Very disappointed) I would also like to point out the fact the venue is extremely hilly with approx.100 steep stairs and slopes this could result in some people being unable to get around. We travel abroad 3-4 times a year and this is the first time i have felt the need to complain.
loved it

Arrived at this hotel on xmas day we had an excellent time hotel bit tatty aroung edges but our room was very clean, tidy and large. ive read the other reviews and agree that most of the staff were unfriendly but to be honest we never spent any time at the hotel, as far as location goes it was about 15 minute walk to sand dunes (not 1/2 an hour) would definatley stay again and recommend it was perfect for a holiday on budget and one more thing hotel about 2min walk from main bus station which means you can get around island easily and cheaply.
Dreadful staff who don't like children
from H321
I just came back from The Beverley Park with my 2 children. I've never written a hotel review in my life but I have to give my view on this awful place. And I'd like to state at the start, Im a placid person with 2 perfectly normal, not naughty, girls and it takes a lot to put me out. Basically, the hotel is clean and in a good position, but its the staff ... The bar staff were the worst - they were sooo unfriendly, in fact they never cracked a smile the whole holiday - everything put them out. One evening we sat out on the terrace bar and the children got up to go off somewhere and the waiter came over and had a go at us for not putting the chairs back to the table properly. I was so taken aback I couldn't really reply - how ludicrous and petty - plastic garden tables and chairs. So after that he ignored us and would not come over to take an order for drinks. Ah well. Next up, there happened to be a group of people separate to us having a little presentation for something or other - they positioned themselves in a quiet corner of the outside terrace, away from everyone and there was a bit of clapping going on whenever someone got a medal for something. Well the waiter came over and told them they could clap, but no cheering!!! Gobsmacked and open mouthed again was I. Could he not see it was a little presentation, over and done with shortly, could he not leave well alone? No. I felt sorry for them. Fast forward to the following morning and someone was accused at breakfast of plotting to take a bread roll out of the restaurant. This lady did not even have a bag with her - I know who I believed - the waiter was soo horrible. Again, nothing to do with us, but I was a witness to another incident - on another day, a party of people went to sit at a table for 8 when there were 6 of them, within seconds a waiter was over to say NO the table was for 8, when in fact there were more people coming to join them but hadn't actually made it through the throws of people at the buffet!! Should they have all synchronised their watches to arrive at the table at precisely the same minute? The waiter would have liked that. Basically it was a holiday like prison camp - waiters watched your every move. PLUS there was zilche for the children to do - apparently they have a basement disco which is closed until further notice - there seemed to be some sort of games room near the pool, again out of bounds and closed. PS Food was not bad, but not that great either. Not a child friendly hotel, needless to say, never going back.
Nice hotel
from doreron
We arrived back a couple of weeks ago from the Beverly Park. It was a nice hotel. The food ok, but sometimes a bit strange. The breakfast eggs were cold, as they usually are with a buffet. The dinners, however, had plenty of choice. Our room unfortunately looked out over the motorway. But as we booked Allocated on Arrival, we couldn't expect much else really. Plenty of noise each morning as workmen laid concrete and did whatever they were doing. Well anyway, at least the hotel was nice and clean. The entertainment was a bit naff with only one girl organising it - actually it was a load of rubbish. Having said all that the only thing I would really grumble about was the fact they only had one lot of public toilets in the place. So if you were desperate and were the other side of this large hotel you could be in trouble. It wasn't as near the sea as the pictures would have you believe but about 10 mins walk away. Next time I would book into somewhere nearer the centre, without a motorway!
good time

stayed at the Beverly in october the hotel is very clean food was very good and the choice of 3 pools with a lot of free sunbeds. There is a stone and sand beach just over the road and up along the sea front is a few shop restrants and some small bars there is also a very large spar shop but the staff are grumpy and dont say a word .The only think that lets the beverly down is the entertainment if you are spanish you are fine so most british went out of the hotel at night. The weather was very hot so all in all we had agreat time and will be going back.Dawn and Phil Wales
Not for us
from NicolaCrewe
I travelled to Gran Canaria in August with my partner, his 9 year old son, 16 year old daughter and my 15 year old son. Following a delayed flight and a nightmare time at the airport when the minibus we had booked was not there, we finally reached the Beverley Park at midnight. It was very quiet and there wasn't much going on. Exhausted and wound up by the journey we were delighted that the bar was still open. After ordering the drinks the barman gave us a bill. My partner explained that we were all inclusive. We were then informed that all inclusive finished at 11pm. It does not state this anywhere on the website. We were less than impressed. After demanding to see the manager we eventually got a drink on the house. At this hotel you are given a flimsy little card that you have to show when getting a drink from the bar or getting a snack. You are only allowed one drink per card per visit to the bar. This is very impractical especially whilst around the pool and for children to keep without losing. Plastic wrist bands are a far better idea. The hotel room was ok apart from the fact that there was a huge palm tree in front of our balcony blocking any kind of view, and the kids room smelled damp with a large discoloured patch on the ceiling. The following morning we went down for breakfast. The dining room is very large and the food was nice. The only problem was that it was self service, and believe me... it's every man for himself out there. There is no indication of which side to queue at. Maybe it's just a British thing to queue? There were alot of ignorant guests that would barge in front of you. Later in the day we came across the animation team...all 3 of them...don't get me wrong..they were brilliant and worked very very hard. We spent most of the first day around the pool. The kids were disappointed because the games room was closed all the time, not even airhockey or a pool table. There always seemed to be enough sunloungers, however the best ones usually had a towel thrown on them at the crack of dawn even though it was meant to be against the rules. Getting a drink from the poolside bar was usually a very frustrating experience, some of the staff would serve other people who came after you, I waited 20 minutes once while he served 5 other people who I was there before. Certain barstaff were very unfriendly and arrogant. Night entertainment was so -so but definitley aimed at the Spanish guests, and of course, the place was deserted after 11pm because all inclusive ran out then and no-one wanted to pay for drinks. The drinks were ok. Proper Pepsi and not some kind of cheap cola. The lager was lovely too, however I could not detect any tequilla in any of the Tequilla sun rises. On arrival we were given a list of trips we could go on. After much deliberation and thought we chose which trips we wanted to go on only to discover that the trips on the list no longer existed which turned out that we missed a few trips we would have liked to go on. A very friendly lady at reception named Antonia who's english was extremely good couldn't do enough to help. She was a credit to the hotel. The hotel was a bit out of the way of any night life. It was a bit of a treck and up about 200 steps to the nearest restaurants. It is a really nice area, however if it's karaoke bars you want...forget it.. It's very well to -do restaurants and expensive gift shops. No lager louts or riff raff. I suppose to sum it all up, the hotel was clean, the food was nice, most of the staff were ok, the guests were predominantly Spanish and didn't believe in queuing up. The location was poor with about a half hour walk to a decent beach. The all inclusive finishing at 11pm was ridiculous. Well that's about it I suppose. I wouldn't go back to this hotel, there wasn't enough going on. The kids would prefer to go somwhere livlier next year.
OK at Beverly Park
from Leah82
My boyfriend and I stayed at Beverly Park in September 2006, we stayed for 7 nights at Half Board. The Hotel looks great from the outside and the inside was OK too! The staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms were adequate and maid service was great! Facilities were very good, two big swimming pools, jacuzzis, mini golf, tennis court, pool bar, loads of sun loungers etc! Cant fault this! The location wasnt great though, as the steps you needed to climb to access centre of Playa Del Ingles were a nightmare in 35 degrees! Though taxis were cheap and available from outside the hotel If I were to stay again though, I would chose different hotel that is more in the centre The only major thing I would complain about was the food and the variety that wasnt served! Self Catering would have made this an excellent holiday!
