Just returned from Pallini Beach in Kalithea. 1hour 45 mins transfer from Thessaloniki. Quite a nice clean hotel but would rate 3* rather than given 4*. Staff were friendly and accommodating. Rooms were spacious and clean nice to have a double and a single bed rather... more

not for the english
from claire1979
myself and my partner went on a weeks holiday it was our first holiday for 5yrs, we didn't want a clubbing holiday like ibiza but the brochure said it was fairly lively and had bars and restaurants 25mins walk away which we thought was great. it was actually 50mins walk and along dodgy roads ok you could get a taxi but as we were told it was 25mins we thought we would walk there, when we got there i would hardly call it lively. the hotel well there was only us and one other english couple the rest were germans and greeks which was ok but the staff seemed to ignore us and just look after them they were just ignorant. if they do not wish to have english there they should say or not advertise in brochures over here it was a real let down
A fantastic holiday
from jenlin
I first read about this hotel on this web site to be honest I wanted to cancel but to anyone going you will have a fantastic holiday, some of these comments are way off mark! The hotel is spotlessly clean, rooms clean and tidy a little small but you don't go on holiday to sit in a hotel room! The food was excellent lots of choice each night, hotel staff are so polite and helpful they could not do enough for you. The hotel is in a beautiful location right on the beach but also surrounded in lovely well kept gardens. We had a fantastic time, the hotel is positioned about a 25minute walk from Kalithea but if you prefer you can take a taxi which only costs 3euros but we enjoyed walking off our meal! There are several bars opposite the hotel so we used to go for a drink in these as the prices where considerably cheaper than the hotel, try Bel Passo owned by a lovely Greek family.
WOW, Excellent Holiday!!

At first I was a little concerned after reading some of the reviews on here, but after having one of the best holidays ever, I can’t understand how some reviewers came out with such nonsense. Halkidiki is an amazing place, the hotel is situated on the first peninsula of Halkidiki very near the centre of Kalithea which is packed full of shops/nightlife. You can walk it in 25 minutes or if you feel a bit lazy, you can call a cab which is not expensive. There is also a bus stop right outside the hotel. If you are into clubbing, clubs were a 10 minute walk from the hotel…they are somewhere between the hotel and the centre of Kalithea. We are not really into clubs, but they looked nice from the outside at night. I was very impressed with the hotel. On arrival, we were greeted by a porter service which took in all our luggage. Staff were all very friendly and always onhand if we needed any help. The pool was very clean, it was cleaned every evening and contained natural saltwater which I prefer. Chlorine pools are pumped full of nasty chemicals which are terrible for the skin. If you prefer chlorine pools, the Sister hotel Athos right next door was only a minute walk away…both hotels share all facilities so you can come and go as you please. We went Half Board and the food was fantastic….there was a buffet with different food every night. Lots of meat and vegetable dishes, salads, desserts etc etc…you will not be disappointed with the food…its hard not to eat too much both at breakfast and dinner. Our room was spotless, the maids visited every day and did a fantastic job cleaning the room and our mess each day! The view from the balcony was breathtaking as you can see from the photos. Waking up to that every day was pure delight. The room has a fridge, TV, hairdryer, aircon etc as standard. It also contains a safe which is 10 euros a week. The beach was very nice and uncrowded. It is a long stretch so if you preferred to be more alone, you could always take a little walk along the beach. The water was crystal clear. and there were watersports/diving etc if you are into all that. Im not sure about the hotel entertainment as we were hardly ever there at nights, we were always out and about in the evenings….had to try burn off all those calories from dinner :-) The one night we did stay in, there was a beach party, that was quite fun. My advise is, ignore all the moaning Victor Mmeldrew types on here and go out there and have a great time. Try get out and see Halkidiki as it is a beautiful place. Rent a car do a tour of the three peninsulas…or if you prefer not to drive, there’s lots of excursions you can goto with a coach or cruise. The worst part of my holiday was having to leave!
Brilliant beach holiday
from Debrina
What a lovely resort, the hotel and beach was great! The hotel and beach was very clean, good bars and friendly staff! We stayed from the 6 July, for 2 weeks and the entatainment got better as our two weeks went on as I undersatnd the full entertainment doesnt start until July! Good selection of food in the resturant but they also has a fish resturant which was lovely! Also the pool bar served great snacks! I would not recommend the Italian resturant in their sister hotel next door 'Athos Palace' as food not very good and it took ages to get to our table! Overall I recommened it for couples of all ages or families who want a relaxing beach holiday!

(take a torch and plenty of repelant ), kids club??????? fianaly found it two days befor we went home!!! they dont talk english!!!! piano bar in the hotel piano player tried to sing but didnt no the words to most songs, great place to go if you cant sleep! this hotel would make a great holiday if..... you wanted to be a sleep by 10 .00 ,your kids to be bored stilly. coment from my 7 year old son: " mummy this is the worst holiday we have ever been on, can we go home!" coment from my father: "the most boring holiday that i have ever been on and i have traveled all over the world, waste of time, money and effot..total crap! 1/10 the 1 is for the food dont waste your money!!!

Fantastic hotel, very clean, friendly staff, great location. Beach was lovely The pool was crystal clear. For those who have slated the pool for being saltwater: Saltwater is therapeutic, and is the "natural solution" for pools. Saltwater is just as effective as chlorine in keeping the water clean and disinfected without the harsh chemicals of a chlorine system. A Saltwater purification system will maintain perfectly healthy water, while eliminating the risks and problems associated with periods of very high or low chemical levels. It will not burn your skin or eyes after long swim days and it will not turn your hair Green like chlorine could. Overall, we had one of the best holidays ever and would return to this hotel again. There seems to be so many moaners around here, if you are going to moan about every little thing, just stay in Blackpool and enjoy the rain.
Loved it!!

I stayed at the Pallini Beach Hotel last year and had a great time. Read a few other reviews and was really surprised by peoples attitudes. The top reason I choose Greece for vacation is because of their simplicity. If I wanted to stay at a Resort they could stick me anywhere in the world and I wouldn't know nor care where I was. I do resorts only in countries where I don't feel that it would be safe to leave the hotel area. Ok so it is not the Hyatt but who cares. It is pretty far from the main town but if people did research before they booked they would have known that. I loved the salt water pool stayed in there all day. What was great was that I was with my 3 year old daughter and the sand was becoming a problem, not a fan of sand, so it was a relief to swim in the pool. Hotel employees were friendly and I had no problem with the escalators at all. It was truly relaxing. There was no night life but if that's what you are looking for then I dont suggest this area unless you rent a car. I suggest Neo Marmaras for single people much more to do. The food was okay. The beach view from the hotel was beautiful. The rooms were nice and clean and pretty modern. Truly a beautiful beach. Definately would stay there again!
What a relief!

I found this website just before departing to the Pallini and quite honestly wanted to cancel my trip! However, having read the reviews my expectations of the hotel weren't good, so it was a great relief to find that the hotel was much better than I had been led to believe. A fantastic beach front position - clean sea and clean beaches. Our bedroom was large, clean, bright and well furnished. The air conditioning worked great, and the shower was really powerful. The hotel food was not great, but I can see the advantages of this type of board for families with small children. The serving staff were delightful. It was a relief that we were able to obtain a voucher that allowed us to take our meal at lunchtime, so we took advantage of eating out. The fish restaurant on the beach was really good, and there are some decent places to eat in Kalithea town, although the resort is definitely not a "fine dining" experience. Having to leave the pool at 6pm is ridiculous (no swimming OR sunbathing after 6pm), and the attendant was rude and miserable. One particular receptionist could not crack a smile, and really chose the wrong vocation. Hotel entertainment was poor holiday camp entertainment. One week here was fine, but really more suited to families - however, I won't be returning!
Excellent for a 4 stars hotel

Me and my boyfriend have just returned from a week at the Pallini Hotel. We had a great time here. Everything was excellent: the room, the food, the beach...
Not 4*

Visited Pallini for our 2 week vacation last year. The hotel is located between 2 towns with a few shops etc on the main road outside the hotel. However it is worth bearing in mind it is up-hill from the hotel to the main road. The location is quiet which suited us. The only entertainment at Pallini is in the Piano bar & it's a man playing piano! We did visit the sister hotel of Athos Palace as they provide regular entertainment however it was so busy we were unable to get a seat & they had a very limited range of alcoholic drinks. There is a bar on the beach which is nice for evening drinks but again no entertainment apart from a CD playing. We drank mainly imported drinks (Fosters, shorts) which were a similar price to that at home. The food was acceptable but replenished regularly. We found eating out far more enjoyable than the hotel food and prices were reasonable. We only used the snack bar on our last day but found the food better and wished we'd used it more often! Some of the staff were extremely friendly, particularly in the bar on the beach and in the hotel but the rest left much to be desired. Customer service is not their forte. The swimming pool is salt water and on more than one occaison had jelly fish floating in it (presumably thrown in by children!). The pool bar was not open during our stay. Our room did have working air conditioning however one afternoon we were alarmed by the smell of smoke & went into a rather smoky hallway to discover the air con had been left on in the room opposite and had caught fire. It took some time to try & explain this to the maid. We were on the 5th floor and although there are 3 lifts this is not enough at peak times we often got fed up with waiting & took the stairs. The hotel is located on the beach which is lovely for evening walks however we found the water had rubbish floating in it and there were quite a lot of jellyfish for the first few days of our holiday. There was a snack bar & a couple of shops on the beach which were not open during our stay. We hired Jet Skis and a boat (2 seperate times) from the beach which was not cheap but enjoyable. The walk to Kalithea is a fairly long especially in the heat with little reward upon arrival (a good half hour & not much to see). Taxi's are extremely cheap and there's plenty of them although some of the driving can be a bit erratic! The town of Hanioti is definately worth a visit (20 mins in a taxi) & if we returned to mainland Greece we would definately stay there. There's much more going on, plently of places to eat/drink without being too over the top. Highly recommend the evening boat trip to Turtel Island which takes in an awesome sunset. Overall, Pallini was acceptable, not bad enough to ruin a holiday but not good enough to make it either. I'd definately consider alternative accomodation & that would not be the sister hotel Athos Palace next door!

We visited this hotel after a Thomson Cruise and made our own way (via hire car) from Thessalonika Airport (a good choice). Will I visit Hotel Pallini Beach again? Probably not …. This is not a hotel for a quiet holiday – probably more like a Holiday Camp with all day... more
