Ok, nothing special, but overpriced
My husband and I stayed at Fisherman's Cove at the end of October 2006. Overall: an average resort. The room was OK, nothing special. We booked the Frangipani room, however the view we had was not so great (room no. 120). About the shower I agree with other travellers (!?!). The staff at the resort were nice and friendly, however sometimes it took forever to get something. For example, when we checked in they told us that our room was not ready yet, which was fine with us, as we arrived at 10 a.m. and it is normal that rooms are... more
Overpriced
The Le Meridien Fisherman’s Cove was overpriced in every sense – we had a cheese and ham toastie and two beers each for lunch which came to £34. The evening meal was a buffet for which we were charged £80, for the quality of food on offer this was extortionate! The Hibiscus Room we stayed in was average The room was okay but it cost more than the villa we stayed in at Cerf Island Resort per night and was in no way comparable. We had problems with the bath emptying & the shower tray which took staff a little while to respond... more
Very Relaxing
Very welcoming hotel and people. Food:- in the a lacarte restaurant superb A++ but the food in the buffet is an experience you will not forget no matter how much you try this was below average for a 4 star / 5 star hotel. Service:- was very good and problems we encounted were delt with fast and effectivley. Rooms:- Our first room (136) was a standard one which had a fantastic view. We then were upgraded and to be honest the room was bigger and you had a private sundeck but the view was not as good as our original one.<br... more
Very relaxing.....
My Wife and I stayed at Le Meridien in August this year after a week at Le Royal Meridien in Dubai to celebrate our 25th wedding aniversary. To be honest you should not compare the two resorts as they are completely different experiences. I have also posted a review on the other hotel so will just focus on this one here. The Island:- Lovely place, if you like wildlife there are some fantastic birds, sea life and spiders (Yes, black and white and very large). The Island is very Green and not over populated. Victoria is nice with an... more
Thoroughly contented
Well, everyone has different individual experiences and, after what seemed to be a fairly average set of opinions prior to our visit in early August, pleased to say that our own stay was very positive and enjoyable. Frangipani room was very clean and spacious, well looked after by friendly staff at various times of the day and a good source of entertainment experimenting with the various lighting combinations possible from the myriad of switches around the room! Open plan shower never a problem and 'dramatic floods' easily avoided with a bit... more
Satisfied but not impressed
My husband and I went to Dubai and Seychelles for our honeymoon this July. We were in Seychelles from July 23-29. We spent the first three nights in Seychelles at Fisherman's Cove and the last three nights at Sainte Anne Resort and Spa. Overall we were satisfied with our stay at Fisherman's Cove. The room was clean and the staff was very friendly. There were only two things I didn't like: 1. the open shower room - water splashed all over the place everytime someone took a shower. They should really add a glass door to it. 2.... more
Go to the Northolme instead
We spent the second half of our honeymoon at Fishermans Cove, and although our room was fab (Hibiscus) everything else was rather disappointing. I agree with others reviews of the open rain drop shower - a novelty that you think seems cool, until you slip on the wet floor and crack you head. The champagne promised on arrival had to be asked for - twice. Pool area was small, and you basically overheard everyone else's wedding stories. Beach immediataly in front of the hotel is ok, but we found ourselves going back to the secluded beach at... more
DISAPPOINTING
it was the second week of our honyemoon - 9 nights in paradise - but paradise just didn'[t live up to expectations! The room was fine ( Hibiscus ) but would have been distincitly average without "open " bathroom and the novelty of the shower drenching half the room wore off after a couple of nights. Food service exceptionally slow in all the restaurants but in particular the pool bar. Maid service inclement and un-predictable Concierge service a littel shaky to say the least! pool way too small and far too few sun... more
Gorgeous
We spent the second week of our honeymoon here and it was amazing. Gorgeous location, fab rooms (trendy create-your-own-living-space concept), views to die for and staff that fall over themselves to help you. We 100% recommend anyone visit it - regardless of the steep price, it's well worth it. Only slight downside was the main buffet dinner, we felt it was a cheap and lazy way to serve dinner and not in keeping with the finesse and style of the rest of this amazing hotel.
Welcome to paradise...?
Meridien's Fisherman's Cove does exactly what it says on the tin. It is a nice 70-room hotel on a tropical island with nice furnishings in typical French colonial style. We were careful when booking the room - we went for a Frangipani at €560 a night BB - so as not to get one of the non-refurbished rooms. No complaints on the room or room service - all 5 star quality. Biggest issue at the hotel is that it lacks 5 star touches - service is good but in Seychellois style, a little too relaxed at times. Bar bills were frequently... more
