Intercontinental Carlton Cannes Hotel

My husband and I stayed here for 4 nights at the end of June 2006. We got a bed and breakfast package and joined the Ambassador Club so that we got one night free, so it turned out to be quite good value. The hotel was very grand and beautiful just as we expected, as well as the rooms. The hotel's location is very central to all the shopping and dining. we stayed at the carlton hotel in cannes the end of june for 3 nights. the hotel is a legend and it really lives up to it. the service is exceptional and staff very accomodating. the first night we were in a room that had a bathroom with a separate toilet/bidet. the only problem was that you could not sit on the toilet because it was so close to the wall in front....no exageration. that night i left a note for the manager regarding this problem and he called personally to apologize and offered to have us moved to a much larger room with a... more

Absolutely fantastic hotel. Location great, Carlton private beach nice and tidy, lots of cute beach boys. Not cheap but hey you live once.

Stayed two nights, two rooms in April 2006 at the hotel Carlton. We reserved the rock bottom rooms and didn't expect much. The lobby, reception and valet car parking was first rate but the rooms were completely without charm. the furniture was from a hotel garage sale of mismatched junk. The one of the two rooms was very small even by european standards. There was certainly no royal treatment for the cheapos in the cheap rooms. We stayed at The Carlton for a short time last June. It was a treat to celebrate my partners 40th birthday......and what a treat it was! From the second we pulled up outside the hotel, the service was excellent! Our luggage was whisked away, our car valet parked, check in was polite and freindly. We were escorted to our sea-view suite by the lovliest lady, who took great pride in drawing back the curtains to reveal the most fabulous view of the bay of Cannes! The room was beautiful. It seems from reading the reviews here that this hotel has been getting a bit of a bad press, so allow me to offer a different viewpoint. I stayed here with my husband for three nights last weekend, and we couldn't have been more impressed. From the start we were treated very well by the staff – from the receptionist who personally escorted us to our room, to those working in the dining room and bar areas who seemed very happy to satisfy our every whim.
