Read all the reviews and believed the weather forecasts, after we booked and too late to change our minds. It was raining when we got there and after 5 days freezing as well. No heating in the Lesse just huddling around the 2 electric hobs in the room. Georgio & the bar... more

My husband and I returned from our stay at the Lesse Hotel just over a week ago and it was the best holiday I have had for a long time. We stayed in C block with a view of the sea but it is a shame the trees block most of it and the rooms are quite dark but we didn't spend... more

The hotel was very clean and modern. The staff are very friendly and helpfull. I only have a couple of minor complaints which are.If you ask for a sea view in "C" block which is the only block facing the sea you end up with a view of trees which is a shame really, and if... more

Great deal, great place
We booked a last minute holiday to the Lesse Studios and were a bit perturbed by some of your reports. In reality we found the place was excellent and the staff couldn't do enough to ensure you had a good time. George and John, the two barstaff/waiters/handymen/case carriers/pool chair arrangers, were very helpful to the men and very nice to the ladies! The rooms were clean, well equipped and the beds reasonably comfortable. The location was ideal for us with a ten minute walk into town so as to work up an appetite for the evening meal and the beach was just outside the back gate with a very nice brand new trendy beach bar. Great holiday - shame it rained a bit during our second week but hey it was early season and the place can't look as green and pretty as it does without some rain!
Lovely appartments, lovely village, lovely locals!
Stayed here for a week in september 2004 and had a great time. Accomodation comfortable and well equipped and definately well above average compared to greek accomadation in general. Beach a short walk through pathway at back of appartments and pleasant enough although very shingly at waters edge so could be painful on your feet entering or coming out of the sea!! Town itself really pleasant although more modern than the authentic greek vilage we had pictured. People were lovely and plenty of good restaurants to choose from. Nightlife there if you wanted it but nothing too rowdy which is a positive in my book In particular would recomend a fantastic italian(can't remember the name unfortunately!) just off the main square and opposite the chemist where a gorgeous meal for two with wine, water etc cost around 30euro!! Owner very friendly too and often joined his customers for a complimentory ouzo at the end of their meal. We also particularly liked a restaurant/bar situated in a smaller square which you pass through when walking from the lesse apartments to the village. Again, can't remember the name but was in left hand corner of square and had seats inside and out. Menu was huge and the food we did have was lovely, but we tended to stop here for a drink on either the way in or out of town. Even when just having a drink the service was excellent and there was always nice little touches like complimentary bowls of crisps, nuts or fresh fruit. The town itself could be reached either along quiet roads or by walking along the beach which although seemed to take a bit longer was a prettier walk especially in the early evening. Didn't go on any trips as were only here for a week and after a lazy time in the sun-which is what we got. Would definately recommend the resort and the appartments to couples of all ages wanting a relaxing break and hope the area soon recovers from the fires/floods of last summer.
Lovely Resort
We stayed at the hotel the week after the fires, so it was touch and go whether we were going there or not. When we arrived at this hotel, the staff didnt seem friendly at all, the receptionist was moody, and moaned at me for not filling out the forms properly, they even wanted to know what ours jobs were on this form, after we filled the forms in, we then had a lecture off another member of staff, telling us that the remote control for the TV would cost us 10 euro, which you get back once the remote is handed back in, and the safe is 35 euros which you dont get back. Once we finally got into our room, the first thing I noticed was how big and cold the room was, which was a bonus as it was very hot outside, the room was very dark thou, and I was so pleased that we wenrt planning on using the catering facilitys they provided as they were very poor. The pool was hardly cleaned, and the pool had been repaired very cheaply, and the paint was peeling off at the bottam. The maid we had was very nice and friendly and did clean our room well, only got new towels every other day, and the maid left the room open 4 times when we were there after she had cleaned, good job we were on top floor right at the end, otherwise we could have had our stuff stolen. The hotel is probably one of the furthest away from the town centre and its a good 10 minute work into the square. And by the way the comments people have made about the beds are 100% true, they are awful!!! The resort on the other hand was exellent. I would go again, but not to that hotel.
Lovely Hotel
Just got back from a late deal with First Choice. Stayed on a self catering basis - yes the little kitchen area was basic but we managed breakfast (eaten on the large balcony overlooking the sea), and who needs to cook when a 10 minute stroll takes you to pretty Hanioti with a large choice of restaurants (many serving traditional greek food). The room was huge, nicely decorated and the beds comfortable. Ok it's not 4* compared with US/English standards - but it was a lovely Greek Hotel - with friendly staff and we had no complaints. We would definately return.
A Great holiday
We have just returned from two weeks at this hotel and we had an great time. Granted the Pool needs attention, the maids aren't great, (well ours wasn't) and the self catering facilities were a bit sparse, but bare in mind this resort have gone through one disaster after another over a two week period(not the norm by the way). Fires and then floods and yet they still manged to do a great job of clearing up the hotel. The staff are excellent, George the barman is a star, the owners are very friendly, although one of them isn't to good in the morning, usually because of the night before. The hotel does need some attention to bring it back up to 4 star including a few finishing touches in the rooms. The remote controls are a ten euro deposit, as somebody has mentioned, but only because they had over 150 stolen in one season, so if you are not planning on stealing it what is the problem, you get your ten euro's back don't you. Hanioti is great lot's of restraunts and bars, Pefkhori and Polychrono also worth a visit although Polychrono can be a long walk. All in all a great holiday and we will definately be returning.
This is not 4* more like 3*
We returned from the Leese Studios last night after spending a very rainy week in Hanioti!! I only booked this as a last minute thing for £164 each. Its not 4* (not sure how this rating was reached) maybe more like 2/3*. The rooms have plenty of space, but could do with a good clean, apparently the maids did come in the rooms occasionally but the only evidence of this was emptying the toilet paper bins and new loo roll, don't expect clean towells etc as you dont get any. The beds are VERY hard and the walls are VERY thin (I wont go into that, it would be to much information!). The pool area is ok, and so is the bar area. There is a small shop with the daily bread etc. Staff were friendly enough. Hanioti is a different story all together. FANTASTIC resort, really friendly, great atmosphere, wonderfull food! We hired a car for a few days and drove all over Halkidiki, nothing compared to Hanioti. Its about a ten minute walk from the Hotel, which is about right to walk off your evening meal. Went on the boat trip to Mt Athos, that was also a good day out (but be warned its an early start and a long coach trip before you actually reach the boat. Would I go again YES but only on a bargain break. Dont pay full price its not worth it. There is still a lot of evidence of the fire, but they are in the process of cleaning it all up, it wont effect your holiday Just make you glad you werent there at the time, it must have been just awful.
Hanioti Great
We booked this holiday in May to fly out in July. In the travel agents Lesse Studios looked fantastic in the brochure and on the internet website. We wanted to pay a little bit more than usual so we would be guaranteed a fantastic holiday. For the 2 of us 2 weeks self catering in a double room in the Lesse Studios with 7 day car hire cost £1,600+. When we arrived we weren't greeted by the infamous friendly and helpful Greeks we read about on the internet. We were given a patronizing lecture regarding how expensive the door key was and we were not to touch anything expensive in the rooms regarding the electrics. We were told if we wanted to use the TV remote control we were to pay 10 euros as a deposit and the room safe would be 35 euros. When we got to our (sea view) room it was dark and rather gloomy (at 2 pm) with only the patio doors for light we had twin beds and a wall of trees in the way of the sea view. The kitchen was tiny and the taps leaked in the 2 electric hobs. The floor of the the living/bedroom area was also filthy. In the bathroom there was mould on the ceiling from (we guessed a leek up stairs) this accounted for the smell also the shower mat was black with dirt and when we pulled it off the wall there was black greasy mould all over the shower and the shower curtain. Our hearts sank with disappointment. We decided to see around the place and try out the pool. At first glance the pool area looked fantastic although a little smaller than I imagined. On closer inspection the pool hadn't been looked after very well. The paint was peeling of the bottom and there had been a rough grouting quick fix job done to the tiling in the big pool which was flaking off into the water. Hanioti was on the other hand amazing! Such a buzz in the evening and plenty of restaurants to choose from you don't have to go to the same place twice. The beach was lovely although crowded and I recommend a snorkel and mask and jelly shoes to protect your feet. I think if you were going for 2 weeks a hire car would be essential as Hanioti is small. There is the softest sand at Sani and good snorkeling south of the peninsular. On reflection if we had got a late cheap deal we may have been a little happier with what we got at Lesse but we didn’t. When we complained to our holiday rep regarding the state of our room she was unable to change anything (although there were rooms available). I wouldn’t say Lesse Studios spoiled our holiday but we didn’t like spending as much time in our apartment as we could have.
Excellent hotel
Lesse was excellent, it has a lovely pool, very friendly staff, clean spacious rooms, good food. It made our holiday the best it could possibly be. It is about a 10 minute walk from the main square where we didnt have one bad meal. The beach is a 2 minute walk from the hotel and the water is crystal clear with slightly shinggle sand. The atmosphere in hanioti is lovely. Would definatly reccommend staying at Lesse as it was really lovely.
lesse is definately more
if you are looking for a real greek holiday, that is safe, fun, not over commercialised and very friendly then you need look no further than the leese hotel, hanioti, greece. It is only a small walk across a quiet road and you are on a loverly sandy beach with crystal clear water (and fish swimming around your feet). And at night you can take a leasurly walk into the small town, with its water feature and a collective array of very reasonable shops for every one, then when you have bought all you need its time to decide where you are going to eat tonight because you really are spoilt for choice, english, chinese, indian, italian and of course greek food is all on offer, and its all served by very friendly staff, but if you dont want to leave the lesse hotel you have a choice of eating at their excellent restuarant, with a change of menu daily, or you could choose a loverly bar meal, that is also cooked by the hotels chef, by the side of the beautiful pools. All very romantic! Nothing is ever to much trouble at the lesse, the rooms are kept to a very high standard, as are the grounds. There is a small shop in which you can purchase your basic needs, i.e bread milk water etc. And to top it all, George, the barman, will do his best to ensure that your glass is always kept full, and all this served with a smile, (hes a very nice man), just to add that finale touch of welcome hospitality. GO ON TRY IT , YOU WILL LOVE IT, AND YOU WILL BE BACK!!!!! (AND IT WONT BREAK THE BANK!)
Great Hotel!
We travelled to the Lesse Studios with Unijet in September 2005 and had a wonderful time. The hotel/Studios are very good by Greek standards – they must have the best power showers in Greece as I’ve been to Greece a few times and the showers are always awful. The studios would probably be rated as a 3 star in the UK but the grounds/pool area is definitely a 4 star! The whole complex is very, very clean and well maintained and the staff are very friendly. We stayed on a self-catering basis and the studio was fine as we ate out every night anyway - just one tip....take a corkscrew/bottle opener as they don't have them in the room. The complex is around a 10 minute walk to the centre of Hanioti through the back gate and 15 minutes back at night through the front entrance. Don't listen to what people say on other web-sites about the dark walk back at night as it is fine, lit most of the way (apart from a 2 minute walk along main road which is fine as you can quite clearly see cars coming) and very safe! Hanioti is a typical Greek small holiday town with plenty of bars open till late every night to keep you busy. There is only 1 nightclub which I didn’t visit (on recommendation) so it might not be good for big groups of teenagers but I would recommend it for couples, families and groups over the age of 25. The best part of the beach is located just out of the back gate of the hotel – you can either buy something from the beach bar and get a free sun-bed all day or walk along to the right and stay there free of charge. The beach along to the right is great – very secluded and brilliant for chilling out away from the masses. The Greeks go there on a weekend which is always a good sign I think! Overall I would recommend the Lesse and Hanioti for a holiday – we got a cheap deal and it was worth every penny!
