" We stayed at this hotel for two weeks... "

We stayed at this hotel for two weeks on half a half board basis and had a wonderful holiday!!!!

The rooms were huge and with a 6 month old baby we needed the space! We had a fantastic mountain/side sea view. The hotel provided a cot which was always made up when our bed was made, clean towels everyday and an unexpected fridge in the dressing table which came in very handy with baby milk an so on.....

The hotel itself was a little dated but clean and comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpfull and the food was always good. The sangria was pretty good too!!!! The entertainment was a little ropey but that didnt matter as we made a good set of friends there so we pretty much entertained ourselves!!!

The beach was within a 10 minute walk via an estuary which made for quite a romantic evening walk, there were plenty of bars and restaurants along the front and the beach itself is beautiful with the harbour at the end. You can get a ferry to Es Cana and visit the Hippy Market (which isnt great for pushchairs as it is on a gravely area and can get very very busy).

If your travelling with a baby make sure you take a cold water steraliser and use bottled water to steralise, tablets are easy to get hold of and make sure you have plenty of formula as SMA and Cow & Gate isnt sold there and the spanish equivalent is quite a bit different and can lead to poorly tummies. Pampers are hard to get hold of too although the spanish nappies are not too bad.

The only major downside is that anyone can enter the complex without being challenged as we did the following year when we went back to the island but stayed at a different resort, as a family Hotel with a lot of children this may need to be addressed.

Overall a very enjoyable holiday and would highly recommend it to families.

" As soon as I stepped off the plane, I... "

As soon as I stepped off the plane, I knew it was going to be a great holiday.

The first breath of warm fresh air gave me that feeling of excitement. So the taxi took 30 minutes to reach the apartments, and the excitement built up as we got closer and closer to the swimming pool - I couldn’t wait to jump right in. We got out the taxi and into the reception to receive the keys with a lovely smile from the receptionist. "Enjoy your stay" she said. Off to the apartment...

The maids had done a great job. The rooms were spotless, not any sign of previous guests. Freshly made beds and clean fresh towels in the bathroom. So it was shorts on, towels in bags and down to the swimming pool. It was a great sight - a massive sparkling pool as clean as could be. Not freezing, not warm. It was perfect. All the staff, reps, pool attendant etc were brilliant. Very friendly and would always be trying to help you out and generate conversation.

The local facilities and transport were also great. A bus station was 10 minutes walk from the apartment, and taxis could be phoned from reception. There was go-karting 10 miles from the apartment, so I went there a few times. I loved it. River to fish from, 150 metres from the beach, large pool, mountain to climb, bars and clubs nearby - what else could i ask for?

And the hippy market was outstanding. Every Wednesday in Es Canar, over 1000 stalls from jewellery and pottery to clothes and general household items.
This has been the best holiday I have had so far and I look forward to going back next year.
11 out of 10 :-D
Thanks
