This is an Hotel above the average ... but it is unacceptable to not provide what you promise (for example air conditioning). If I knew it from the beginning, would not choose this hotel for my vacation. When I complained about this matter, faced rude and insults. I regret my choice, because has destroyed the holidays of my family.

Stay 21st July - 4th August 2008 - party 6 (adults) includes 4 teenagers - 17,18,19
I would definitly recommend this hotel for Greece.
Having stayed in different parts of Greece and the Islands many times I have no disillusions on what Greek hotels, bathrooms, food can be like....
In the Hanioti palace you will find a difference which I was very pleasantly surpised having read previous reviews.
Staff - very pleasant, polite and friendly and unobtrusive. I will say having read previous feedback that maybe because the receptionist doesnt use alot on facial expressions and thinks about her reply, could be misinterupted has unhelpful BUT english whilst good is not the first language and all staff were very helpful - 8/10
Hotel layout and communal areas - clean, cool, spacious - 8/10
Pool - excellent, very clean and a good size, never crowded. good kiddie pool also. very clean toilets and changing cubicles provided. Plenty of sunbeds and brollies - 8/10
Surrounding pool area, hotel gardens - again very nice, clean, well kept gardens. ( These nicely broke up the hotel from the pool. 7/10
Pool Bar - good, clean, snacks and drinks available. friendly helpful staff. 8/10
Rooms - good size for 2 persons, plenty wardrobe and cupboard space, suitcase space, balcony good - table and chairs provided and washing line
bathroom - great! A bath, most unusual in Greece, shower combined in tap. - 8/10
Maid service and cleanliness - unbelievable! fantastic, sheets, bath towels changed nearly every day, room and bath room cleaned everyday, thoroughly. I have stayed in places in Greece where you be lucky to get them changed once a week! - 9/10
Food
Pool Bar - Snacks were good, fair selection, made fresh while you watch. Good fresh ingredients e.g. salads - reasonably priced - 6/10
Breakfast - good standard continental breakfast, nothing majorly exciting. Please dont expect an English breakfast, this is Greece and whilst they offer Fried eggs, bolied eggs, cheese etc its a good enough continental breakfast. - 4/10
Evening meal - buffet
Cold foods - good, fresh, plenty of it, mix and match, no complaints
Hot Food - I still think this is where the 'Brits' forget they are not at home but in Greece. Plenty of selection - 2 meats, 1 fish, 1 veggie everynight. Selection of 2 potatoes - chips and.., Veg - frozen and it is a little off putting but no different to any where at home that does mass catering. I do feel though it is the hot food whilst not bad and edible not that exciting that lets them down - 3/10
Food overall - 6/10
beach - 2 min walk from hotel, clean, sunbeds provided.
There was a good selection of nationalities (Greek, English, german, Dutch, Russian, Polish and Serbian that I heard!)staying at the hotel and all guests were nicely behaved - no rowdy groups.
It is ideal for families what ever age the child including teenagers.
My 2 recommendations would be try to improve the hot buffet food and make better use of the pool bar in the evenings. There was a greek night but not really advertised and no other hotel entertainment. Whilst this leaves a nice quiet hotel at night and
the town is literally a 2 min walk away for entertainment. It did feel the hotel was missing a trick.
Would go back again

This hotel is nicely situated around the lively square, nice pool area, friendly staff at pool bar, shame about the staff on reception very rude and rooms basic. This hotel is not worthy of a 4 star rating, food very boring had had enough by the third night, everything soaked in olive oil. Plenty of nice places to eat out, would not return to this hotel.

While not without its faults the Hanioti Palace is a safe bet, particularly for young families. Staff were generally friendly and helpful; the public areas were imposing and comfortable; the rooms had recently been attractively refurbished and redecorated; the bed was very comfortable. The focal point of the hotel, its pool, terrace and gardens, was delightful.
The front desk was efficient and dealt with our two complaints very effectively-a broken balcony door lock on arrival, and excessive noise from an inconsiderate group of young people by the pool in the small hours.
The weaknesses: extra charges for the use of a safe and the inbuilt fridge in the room. Absence of any kind of internet provision, and lack of replacement of hotel toiletries. The state of the hotel's section of beach was unacceptable. It was quite the most untidy along the entire beach. It would cost nothing but a little more work and managerial supervision to put this right.
Food was satisfactory. Salads were very nice, main courses of variable quality, desserts ok. The only fresh fruit we saw was melon and water melon-more evidence of economising.
We would not go back to Hanioti-or anywhere else on Kassandra. We found the peninsula rather featureless. There was a lack of interesting and picturesque towns and villages and an absence of historical sites. It seemed the most attractive part of the peninsula had been spoilt by devastating and frighteningly extensive forest fires in 2006. Burnt trees were visible from the back the hotel. We found Sithonia far more attractive and appealing.

The pool and the rooms were very good. Room cleaned daily. Hotel is well situated for the beach and the lively "square".
Lots of free sun loungers around the pool. On the downside the food is poor, not a lot of selection and not suited to the British taste. However there are lots of good places to eat a short distance away. Try the Hot Goblin and see if you can eat one of their jacket potatoes they are massive.
Overall a good peaceful relaxing holiday with lots of sunshine.

On the good side, this hotel is in a very good location-only a minute’s walk to the village square or the beach. It is laid out beautifully around a very large swimming pool. However, it clearly has been good in its day, but now desperately needs some money spent on it.
The rooms are basic but clean. We had twin beds pushed together with a folded single sheet on each bed which we had to make ourselves each day. On our return to the room each day, we had to unfold the neatly folded sheet and make the bed ourselves. There was a ragged plate where the shower head was fixed to the wall. This was replaced when we asked.
The food was at best poor. Not very imaginative and not very tasty or appetising. We had to keep asking for trays of food to be replenished which meant waiting on several occasions.
The staff did not seem too bothered about things that were discussed with them, a shrug of the shoulders and an expression which indicated not much interest.
There is a lovely pool but at one end there are rusty metal covers and a poolside shower was well past its sell by date. The impression that one is left with is that it is being run on a shoestring. It is a shame because this could be a really nice hotel with just a bit of money and a little more attention to customer care.

This is an excellent hotel very friendly management and staff. Rooms and hotel is very clean, and nothing is too much trouble.
Large pool with sun beds (free). Just a short walk to the beach through sister hotel next to it. Food was buffet style more Greek style than English, but always found something to suite.
This hotel is just on edge of village. Close to the Square. I think the last review mixed the hotels up no need for a taxi or bus they must have stopped in the Halkidiki Palace which is about half a mile out of town. This would be ideal hotel for families.

Let me start from the beginning, it is not 4 star property and it is likely a good 3 star or sometimes less and i can tell u why
1. rooms are small clean but very basic
2. service is ok friendly stuff and try to be helpful, not the perfect English tho
3. rooms are to be cleaned every day but when they clean them they keep forgetting to change the towels or bring the shower gel/shampoo or come late far after 1-2 pm when u come for lunch
4. food is average, breakfast is simple fried eggs, sausages or bacon mushrooms and some veggi NO FRUIT, cornflakes with milk and tea/coffee with some biscuits, the menu is the same every day; for dinner they offer fish or meat if u can call this way, rice, pasta, few other things, not very tasty but salads are good and u can still find something u may like but i would have dinner in some other typically Greek tavern tho it may be expensive.
5. swimming pool is not as big as on the pic and also very salty and with chlorine
6. beach is 100-150 away NOT SANDY; clear nice blue water and not very salty sea and u can stay there all day long
7. if u go to the excursion trip (Athos, Dion and Olymp, or any other day excursions like Thessaloníki or Athens leaving the hotel at 7 am the lunch box is not very good and u might need some extra food and water coz the trips are tiring and very long )
to finish my not very positive feedback i must say it is not the best hotel but it is pretty good and i would recommend the place as a value for money and if u come with a family it can be ideal because it is safe, quite, and close to the beach very friendly and with a little effort can be simply perfect.
