This hotel needs a total revamp to come into the 21st century!
Don't use the lifts, they stuck between floors and when they do nothing moves and the lift goes into total darkness! Only when someone presses it on another floor does it move again. And pressing the alarm button was no use, no one answered it! I saw lots of young kids using this on their own and its pretty scary for adults, let alone kids! This lift stuck twice in the time I used it.Its all very old and wants a total revamp. Only good thing in this hotel was the breakfast, but that was pricey compared to other cafes going into Altinkum.

Fantastic Holiday

I first stayed at The Panormos Hotel in Oct 2007 and went back again in Sept 2008. It's a good deal and you get what you pay for in this day and age so I have no idea why people moan. The hotel's perfectly fine, it's basic, has what you need, the pool's nice as are the restaurant and bar (open late too). The food's great and the service is absolutely fantastic. The staff are what really make this place, they're pleasant, friendly, can't do enough for you and work extremely hard. The beach is only 2 mins on the bus and the location of the hotel is far better for not being right next to the hustle and bustle. It's a pleasurable stay and ultimately a holiday is what you make it and I have had 2 of the best holidays here and made several friends in the process.

after reading reviews was a bit worried about the hotel but from the moment we arrived until we left I could not fault one thing . The rooms were cleaned every day, every member of staff were friendle and very helpful. The walk to the beach was not as long as many people made out as there was plenty shops and bars along the way. We will definatley be back hopefully soon,

I stayed at the Panormas hotel in July, and had a great time. The hotel was basic, but very nice and clean. The rooms were lovely and were cleaned every day.
The food in the hotel was very good and realy cheap. We ate there every night it was that good. The breakfast was a typical Turkish breakfast with meat, salad, egg and bread.
The staff were lovely, very friendly and help full and very entertaining, especially Ozzy.
The hotel is a half an hour walk away from the centre of Altinkum, but you can catch a bus from outside the hotel which runs reguarly.
The only down side to the hotel was that you were not able to bring food in from outside and the ice creams and drinks were quite expensive. But apart from that it's a great hotel.

I've just returned from the panormos hotel altinkum, overall the hotel was ok but way too far away from the main resort especiallly if you've got young children, so i wouldn't recommend it. the hotel wouldn't allow food in the rooms because they want you to buy their expensive food, but i always took water back anyway. the breakfast was disgusting same old food everyday greasy butter, cold eggs and salami yuk!!! the pool was nice enough if that's what you want but be prepared for the beach because it's one big astray and definately not golden sands. I really didn't like altinkum full stop and it's not for families, too much hassle especially if you have young children with blonde hair. I definatley won't be going back anyway but good luck if you decide to go!!!!

this hotel seems to get a lot of bad press? rooms are clean with air con about £30 for the week staff are freindly and helpfull food was good and not a bad choice, bit more expensive then the local bars.
beach is cramped with sun beds all over the place, £5 for 2, all day.
its about a 15 minute walk from the hotel with restaurants and bars all the way down to the sea.
dont bother with going to the water park at kusadasi its small and not worth the visit
altinkum is small, but all in all its worth the visit.
book direct with the hotel its less then £10 a room per night and grab a cheap flight..

Me and my sister have just returned...

Aug 2008, Mrs L Missing

Me and my sister have just returned from the Panormos Hotel and had a brilliant time!! The start of the holiday was a complete disaster and anyone wishing to book with Goldtrail I would suggest you don't bother, they are the worst tour operator I have ever been on holiday with. Big flight delays, lack of communication, awful rep, not bothered attitude the list is endless.
Getting past the start of the holiday we arrived at the hotel and was greeted by a staff member who carried our bags into reception where we checked in. We paid for the air conditioning which is a must and a safe which is kept in the reception area. The room was basic but clean with everything you needed and was cleaned daily. All we ever had for breakfast was toast and jam but that was enough for us. We managed to find a sun bed everyday around the pool and if you couldn't ozzy would find you one. We had a few problems with our room but they were sorted within minutes of us reporting them.
The bar/waiters/reception staff were all really friendly and made our holiday which is more than I can say from the owners of the hotel. The just seemed to sit around all day watching you and making sure you wasn't bringing any food into the hotel. We all understood that you couldn't take things up to your room but why was it a problem to go down to the supermarket and buy things to eat around the pool? Compared to the supermarket down the road the prices for drinks/ice creams/chrisps were so expensive!! I was disgusted that they had the cheek to ask to check your bags to see what you had bought especially when they took the 80 year olds mans food away!!! This seemed to be the case in alot of the hotels about bringing your own food in. That was the only negative thing we can say about the whole holiday.
Make sure that you book a Turkish Bath while your away it was the highlight of the holiday!! The resort it's self is about a 20 minute walk from the hotel but if you don't fancy that the dolmus buses are just outside the hotel and take you into dolphin square for 1 LIRA 25, they run all day and finish at 2am.
We had a great time here and would definatly return in the near future!

The weather and Altinkum bay were...
4 / 10
Aug 2008, Mrs J Higgs

The weather and Altinkum bay were both lovely. The hotel itself needs to improve, although tthe room was ok hygeine standards were generally low as the management were preoccupied with property sales and socialising amongst themselves. The breakfast was abysmyl - sour milk, dry cold meats and salad, the olives actually looked rancid.
The pool area was overcrowded as guests sought 'cleanish' sunloungers and cushions - amongst the discarded ones on the unkempt terraces.
Although no food or drink was allowed in hotel (due to fears of insect infestation and no fridges) the owners dog bowl full of meat scraps was placed in the foyer entrance throughout the day - surely a health hazard! Tip - lower the drink and snack prices and the elderly man of 80 would not have been trying to bring a roll in for his lunch. Confiscated food and drink was left on the reception floor - is this not encouraging insects?

Wonderful weather, nice beaches but...

Aug 2008, Mr L Watson

Wonderful weather, nice beaches but an absolutely terrible hotel. Staff are ignorant and rude, the rooms are full of insect and bugs. Pool was very dirty and rarely cleaned. Never a single sunbed that isnt broken available to use. Overpriced food and drink inside the hotel. Choose Turkey but don't choose Panormos.

We stayed in the hotel panormos in july the hotel was very clean and the staff were very helpfull and polite the food was good. It was a bit of a walk down to dolphin square but the dolmus run from right outside the hotel often. For a fantastic english breakfast go to the golf bar down in dolphin square.Over all i would rate this holiday as brilliant well worth the money cant wait for next years holiday now.
