We have just returned from spending a 2 week holiday at the Nirithes apartments in Skala, the accommodation was of a good standard, only one room but very clean.
There was a large pool with plenty of sun beds available every day , although it was Sept/Oct maybe busier earlier. Napoleon the owner was very helpful and always on hand to give information about Kefalonia and its many beautiful places to visit. We truly a wonderful holiday here and would recommend it to anyone wanting a relaxing holiday with good places to eat & drink.
The only minor complaint about the NIRITHES was to say Napoleon sort your bar area out put a few more tables inside where the pool table is, is does dominate the room if your not a pool player. Hope to see you again soon. REGARDS DAVE &SUE JONES ROOM 199.

After having read the other reviews about these apartments we were quite happy that the place was going to be of a reasonably good standard.
On arrival we found that the apartment was VERY clean. The location as described was up a hill but we didn’t find it too much of a problem, in fact we welcomed the exercise after our large evening meals.
The pool area was very nice and had plenty of sun beds to go around. We found that the bar prices were over the top and that the food was not really up to scratch.
Another small criticism is that we had to ask at reception for extra toilet rolls and felt that these were only given grudgingly by Dina, the owners girlfriend. Would we stay again? Probably not, only because we felt that maybe next time we’d like to stay nearer the beach overlooking the sea.

We love it here, this was our second visit to Nirithes, (planning our 3rd right now). We have always been made to feel part of the family, everyone is so friendly.
The location is not great if you have to push a buggy or you have mobility problems but we welcome that walk after our evening meal. The restaurants in the town are wonderful, we have never had a bad meal.
We love The Old Village restaurant, go early and you get 10% off your bill. Scandinavia do a Kefalonia meat pie to die for, Sciroco is great for spaghetti dishes. Use Panem for tours and car hire. There have been a lot of new shops and places to stay built over this last year. The supermarkets are excellently well stocked with all the English favorites, so no need to cart all your stuff with you.
Sandals for the beach are recommended as its stony at the waters edge. You must try the banana boat or any of the other water sports from Yanni and the crew. I don’t know why I am telling you all this, I wanted to keep Skala a secret so the whole of England wont know how lovely a town and the island of Kefalonia is.
