The people in Mavi Kosk speak excellent English and are extremely helpful and friendly.
The apartments are cool and the pool is a god-send! The town itself offers many cafes, restaurants and tourist agencies and there is an amazing, traditional market every Saturday. We participated in many trips (we used Antelope travel - very good) our favourite being the two-day trip to Ephesus and Pammukale. It is beautiful and the city of Ephesus (holding one of the 7 wonders of the ancient world) is breathtaking.
The Turkish bath (hamam) is also a must as well as the mud baths and natural hot springs. The people are friendly and the weather is gorgeous not to mention the world famous Iztuzu beach, home to turtles and white sand.
Our favourite restaurant was called the Selale, where we had the lamb cooked for 2 hours in a claypot, then they knock the top of to reveal a succulent, tender lamb casserole (warning needs to be given earlier in the day if you want this).
It is touristy, but the trips offered, the weather, and delicious food makes it perfect for any family (not to mention the huge storks flying about!).
