We stayed at the Club Alla Turca hotel during the half term break. We stayed at the hotel on the recommendation of my sister in law. She was spot on, the complex is made up of small blocks of 12 rooms, the gardens are well maintained and the whole hotel has a family... more

Dalyan, wow! It's beautiful river location, lush green with flowers that add dashes of bright colour in every direction. Mountains sheltering it and cooling breezes to calm the temperatures. Something different to do every day - no two days need be the same; how could it... more

Wonderfully Friendly and Convenient
My wife and I stayed here in April/May 2007. it was our first visit toTurkey and once the staff realised this, they couldn't do enough for us. The rooms were very clean and very well maintained and cared for. The food in the hotel was very good and very reasonably priced. The hotel itself is an easy 10minute walk into Dalyan town Centre (along the riverside) with tremendous views of the surrounding mountains. Far enough out of town to be nice and quiet but close enough for a leisurely stroll at any time of the day or night. We enjoyed our stay so much that we will return later this year and I would recommend it to anyone.
Loved this hotel
My husband and i chose to stay here after reading reviews on Trip Adviser. We were not disappointed. We found the hotel spotlessly clean and very attractive. The staff were helpful and friendly and I need to go on a diet after the delicious food. We had booked bed and breakfast thinking we would mainly be eating in the town In fact we had most of our evening meals in the hotel because the food was so good and also in October it gets dark early and the walk along the river path with its mossies didn't really appeal. The hotel has satellite tv and a lot of the programmes are english language with Turkish subtitles so I could watch my favourite CSI no problem. This was our first visit to Turkey and we will definitely be coming back. Dalyan is a fantastic resort and one of the most beautiful places I've ever been to.
Lovely friendly hotel
After reading one of the reviews I was slightly worried about staying at this hotel, but I was pleasantly surprised and pleased. It is set back just abit from the river which isn't quite so bad for the mosquito promblem{ which is realy bad in this area, buy the local spray]. The staff are really friendly very helpful, excepting the first occassion when we arrived, we arrived to late for dinner, we asked if snacks were available but the receptionist just shrugged, so we had to make do with a can of nuts, which wasn't very good after a long day travelling. The rooms were a little smaller than I expected, but if you are not happy they will move you, when you book try to get an upstairs room, more privacy! Lovely sized pool for a small hotel, plenty of sun-beds.be warned the hotel is about a good 15 minutes walk from the town, they provide a bus service but it is not on request, so anyone with walking promblems will find it hard unless you use taxi's. The food at breakfast was slightly disappointing, the bread is lovely though. Be warned tea, drinks etc. are expensive, but then hotels always are. Dalyan is a lovely place, not too crowded, the river and coastal trips are just great, a tip if you like peace away from the crowds arrange the hire of a boat privately it could be cheaper or just alittle more but so much better. If this hotel had any short-coming it was more than made up for by the friendliness of the maids, & bar staff.
Very relaxing
We have just returned from a fortnight's holiday at this lovely hotel. We had been recommended by my brother, who has been several times, and everything he said was true. It is family-run and the staff couldn't have been more helpful. Our room was very cheerful and kept immaculately clean by a delightful lady who, when she found out it was our anniversary, decorated our bed with fresh flowers. A cake also appeared at the pool bar that evening - in fact this happened whenever guests were celebrating birthdays, etc. The grounds are beautiful and the photos on the hotel website do not do them justice as they were taken when the hotel was first built and before the plants had matured. The pool was fab and, because none of the buildings were more than three storeys high, you could laze on one of the many loungers just looking at the surrounding mountains and the house martins and swallows swooping over the pool. Breakfast was buffet style, with lots of choice and was served until a very civilized 10am. Snack lunches were available in the shade. We did not eat dinner at the hotel as we wanted to be free to try the many restaurants in and around the town (which was about ten minutes walk from the hotel). Although a busy town it still had a very rural feel to it and was very friendly. There are lots of excursions available and organisers will collect you from the hotel - as will some of the restaurants that are a bit further out. Just ask at Reception. We will definitely return.
Not as good as it was
Although facilities are good, food and drink is overpriced and staff are overworked. This was my second visit and the change in 18 months was very noticable - I won't return again.
We all loved it...........
My teenage daughters, who are normally indifferent to anything other than the swimming pool, were completely bowled over by the Alla Turca and the beauty of Dalyan. The Alla Turca is an exceptional hotel. Immaculate airy rooms (essential in 40c heat), friendly and helpful staff and a sumptious breakfast served by the gorgeous pool. Although the hotel offers a courtesy bus, we did not find it necessary to use it as the town is only a 10/15 minute walk away along a stunning river path. The hotel has a snack bar, serving lunches and in the evening there is a barbecue which cost about £12 p.p. which is good value given the quality and abundance of food. I would also recommend the fish evening on Wednesday when the hotel pulls out all the stops to make it a memorable meal. All meals and charges at the hotel are settled on your bill which can be paid by credit card thus saving your holiday cash. The hotel does not change Traveller's cheques and our Thomas Cook cheques could only be changed in the IS Bank in town (Open Mon to Fri). The post office which seemed to be open all hours will cash American Express cheques so this is worth bearing in mind. Dalyan has a number of cashpoints and the shops and market seem to accept all currencies. In some instances it worked out we would get better value paying in sterling rather than Lira. The hotel offers a number of trips and I suppose our only niggle is that they did try to push them over breakfast when we were all feeling a bit bleary eyed and not in the trip mood. However, saying that, saying no once does suffice if you are not interested. We have been on a number of package holidays over the years and although we have enjoyed them in general there has been the odd small complaint (music too loud by pool, towels not changed, maids waking you up at the crack of dawn, grouchy receptionists etc). I can honestly say that everything at the hotel was absolutely perfect. I can also vouch for all the positive comments made about Dalyan and the wonderful, friendly people. And - try the little riverside cafe (to the right as you join the riverside path). A cold beer at dusk is magical and they serve the most wonderful home cooked chips and fresh salad - a million miles away from a greasy spoon affair. Also - use the local mosquito spray (sold in the hotel reception and all over town). Our British stuff was absolutely useless, but theirs really does work.
The real Turkey
After recently returning from another holiday elsewhere,i can sincerley say that Dalayan is still the one of the most beautifull places i have ever been fortunate to go to. I have had the pleasure of visiting what i call "The real Turkey" on more than one occassion, and plan to make many more visits in the future. Dalayan is Unspolit, Traditional, and Genuine. It has warm and friendly locals who care. They are not greedy moneygrabbing businessmen, simply after your money like so many of Turkeys more well know commercial sprawling resorts. Dalayan is the real thing, and The Club Alla Turca is a wonderful example of that. We visited this property at the beginning of July 2004 for our honeymoon. My now husband, had proposed the year previous in a local resturant by the riverbank (Lalazzars) and we decided there and then that this was the destination for our honeymoon. Upon arrival at our chosen hotel, we walked into a traditional Ottoman style reception to be greated by friendly, courteous members of staff who spoke excellent english. Our luggage was taken to our room and we were shown how to use the electronic safe, Satelite TV etc and given details of meal times. The rooms were spacious and exceptionally clean, bedding and towels were frequently changed and dustbins emptied several times throughout the day. We had a small balcony. which overlooked the well manicured gardens and made a nice peacefull haven for a glass of local Antik wine in the evenings. Breakfast was off traditional Turkish fare which included mezes of Breads, Spreads, Salads etc and was served as a buffet in the shade. However Cereals, omelettes, Boiled eggs fruit and fresh juices were all available if you didnt want to be as adventurous. In the evening, meals were served by the edge of the pool by candlelite, there was a varied choice of food, good wine list with reasonable prices and excellent service where nothing was too much trouble. BBQ evenings are quite the talk of the town at Alla Turca and bring tourists from many other Hotels and Apartments, which makes for a sociable evening. They put on a huge buffet of food, plenty of meats local seafoods, salads and fresh Pide (Locall bread) all beautifully laid out and presented while you are entertained with Turkish dancing, traditional music and costume all free of charge (If you are staying at the Hotel) The large pool area has ample sunbeds surrounding it and a pleasant swim up bar. The bar is well stocked with locally produced spirits and offers a delicious snack of tea and cakes at about 4pm everyday. There is a small play area for children with slides and toys etc, the hotel does encourage families however rooms can only accommodate up to 3 people. Some people may be a little put off by the location of the hotel as it is located a 10/15 minute walk from the main village, accessable by either the main road or the path by the riverside. My husband and i enjoyed the walk you have views of the wonderful Lyceium Tombs embedded in the hillside while you would often pass friendly locallys who shine shoes for a living. The path is also well lit in the evenings by streetlights. However, the hotel does offer a courtesy coach for its clients, so you only have to ask and they will oblige. Now i must point out that i have been working within the travel industry as an independent agent for the last 10 years, and have had the experience of visiting many countries throughout Europe, USA, Canada and the Far east. I feel i have the experience to form some valid opinions of destinations and hotel accomodation over this period of time. Dalyan is by far one of the safest and most beautifull little villages that i have ever come across. Accommodation is to all standards many still family run, not large chains of hotels often impersonal and unwelcoming. There are simple self catering apartments to excellent hotels like the Alla Turca. Resturants that can appeal to all tastes and budgets, with an abudance of delicious locall seafood. Breathtaking scenery with interesting history as to how it all got there. All this set within a small fishing village, that still houses a traditional meeting square. Mosque, School and weekend market for everyone to enjoy together in a safe and pleasant enviroment. When people say they have been to Turkey, and they come up with all the usual objections of, "It was dirty, Localls were pushy it wasnt safe etc etc, I sometimes wonder where they have visited to get this view. I never believe that they have experienced the real Turkey unless they have been to Dalyan. I must admit though, i am becoming selfish and wonder sometimes if i should simply keep it a secret so no one ever contemplates spoiling what a lovely part of Turkey this trully is.
For a peaceful, relaxing holiday
Lovely place to stay. The staff are friendly and the Alla Turca must be the best place to stay in Dalyan. I would wholly recommend it.
heaven on earth
I have been to loads of places around the world after working in the Travel Trade for 16 years and Dalyan and in particular the Club Alla Turca are the best places I have ever been to.I visited Club Alla Turca in June 2003 after visiting Dalyan the previous year and it is superb.Situated by the river, it is about a 10 minute walk to the town centre. The town is a lovely place with hundreds of River Boats that go to the lake(upstream) or down to the fabulous beach-complete with logger head turtles the other way!The resort has hundreds of lokantas and restaurants and you can walk past any without being 'hounded' to go in.You can stand and look at the menu with no pressure-unlike anywhere in Turkey.I can say the same about the shops too.The hotel is run by 3 brothers and is spotless. Some people think Turkey is dirty-utter rubbish-it is spotless. In this hotel the cleaners even wash down all the sunbeds about 6 in the morning. The pool is lovely and never over busy -as Dalyan has so much to see most people are out in the day.The staff are ultra friendly, the food in the hotel is great, the bar-a little more pricey than town but still reasonable.Best part are the rooms.Spacious, airey with superb facilities.Electric mini safe, mini bar,air con, satellite tv,telephone and lovely turkish but modern decor.Turkey is superb for sight seeing and the prices are very cheap-until they join the Euro.I will definately be returning to this hotel next year and for many years to come I hope.
Nice Hotel, good facilities a bit out of the way
Stayed one week at the Alla Turca and really enjoyed it. The facilities are good, nice clean rooms, small enough never to feel crowded. The pool is large and never busy. The grounds are well kept, perfect lawns. Staff friendly and helpful. Location-wise it's a bit in the middle of nowhere, nothing nice all around it you really need to walk to the village. Although it's only 4/500 yards, which seemed perfectly fine, I had not considered what it would be like in the heat! Walking under the 40 degrees sunshine made the trip quite a pain, definitely not something you want to do more than twice a day....
