Victoria Hotel

We stayed once and decided on a second trip that we would stay somewhere that was supposed to be a step up. (Hotel Victoria is clean and cheap but old). Big mistake so we went down to Hotel Victoria and they made all the arrangements through our travel company to move us. 1st time they were very stand-off-ish. our second time even though we had originally booked elsewhere they remembered us, found us two rooms and treated us like family. Stayed in the Victoria in August 2006 for six nights. Found the room reasonably clean but very small. The bathroom was of the type where you can have a shower, do your teeth and go to the toilet all at the same time - it is that small. Lifts worked but very small. Staff didn't seem to care whether the guests were alive or dead.

I bring my art students here every year. It's reasonably priced and fairly close to the city. I have always found the staff very friendly and helpful. The students rooms can be cramped (mostly 3 per room) - but at this price I cannot complain. There can be noise at night with school and college groups booked in. Of course, my group are well behaved and quiet! Breakfast is okay. The hotel is clean and well managed. Not so sure I would stay there with my wife - I would look for somewhere smaller and less likely to have any groups... more

We have just return from Paris trip. It was our fourth time being in Paris. We have stayed different hotels before. We spent seven nights at Victoria hotel. The elevator didn't work five days. Our bathroom light was off four days. The staff on the front desk (except one of them) were rude and unhelpfull. The room was tiny and not so clean. You can find a better hotel with the same price in Paris.

Only stay here if you can find no alternative & be prepared for lots of aggro. There is no chance you could ever feel at home in this place. RUDE CLEANING STAFF WHO BARGED IN TO OUR ROOM & KEPT INTERFERING If you like to enjoy the nightlife, or have odd flight times, don't expect a lie-in. On several mornings, my bloke & I found that the room cleaners wouldn't take no for an answer & kept knocking on our door & twice we hadn't locked it & the woman just barged in, when we were still in bed!!! I stayed in the Hotel Victoria during an exchange trip in early April 2006. The room itself was horrible. It stank of smoke and did not feel in any way clean. The elevators barely worked and it was easier to bring the 50+ pound suitcases up the stairs than to lug them through the elevator. It seems that they are undergoing signifigant renovations at the moment so all this could change in the future. However, at this juncture i was thoroughly unimpressed.

I stayed in this hotel while on a trip with the rest of my French class. Apparently, we were on a budget. My first impression of the hotel was it was quaint, until I saw our room. The rooms are tiny. It's a grubby place. There were weird stains on the mattress that looked suspiciously like blood, and the street outside, which has grafitti, makes you feel like you're staying in a very large, 107 room crack den. My husband and I were expecting the worst after reading the reviews and several friends had stayed in Paris and told us how bad their rooms were when they had paid more. The bathroom was larger than some, though I am glad neither of us are overweight or we wouldn't have got into the shower! Looking at the plans we were in a smallish room. I stayed in the hotel victoria when I visited paris with my college in February 06, having read the reviews previously posted we went expecting the worst and were pleasantly surprised, the staff were friendly, breakfasts simple but included croissants and bread (so not just eggs). The rooms though small were adequately sized seeing as we only needed them to sleep in and the bathrooms in the 8 rooms we had were clean and had clean towels. Who stays inside when they´re in paris?? All you need is a bed where you can sleep in, and maybe breakfeast in the morning. My friends and I stayed there for 4 days. Paris is incredible!!! Anyhow, the hotel was better than fine! It´s a low budget hotel what would you expect?? The place it´s located in is fantastic! the underground is right across the street!!! they have got lots of boutique´s nearby, and many places to eat.
