this holiday was amazing, we arrived early hours due to a mix up with transfers, (not hotels fault) to a warm welcome from Jerry the night porter. He was very friendly and showed us to our room, which was very clean but not to big. Next morning we went down to breakfast, which was unbelievable, you had a choice of bacon, eggs (in all diff forms i.e fried scrambled, boiled) sausages, hash brown, beans stuffed tomotoes. About six different fruits, cereal, toast, tea coffee fresh fruit juice, buscuits etc, and all really fresh.
The pool is not to big, but for the size of the hotel quite sufficient, you didnt have to put any towels out for a sunbed there where plenty there for all residents. The staff especially katty, Becca and Jerry where very friendly and couldnt do enough for you. The rooms where cleaned on a daily basis and fresh towels every day. Snacks where available during lunch time and where to a high standard. For our evening meal, (as we didnt usually require any lunch due to the breakfast) we walked into town, some of the restaurants are very expensive and not good value, but we found a wonderful restaurant called Marfils, which was about 10 min walk from hotel, very resonable and the food was great. The staff very friendly on our first night there was only 5 of us as a party eating there by the end of our holidays, we used to turn up with 14 people, we sometimes had to wait for a table as it was very popular but only usually for 10 mins or so.
This Hotel should be more than a 2 star, but if you are wanting tea or coffee when you wake up, make sure you either take a travel kettle or higher one from the hotel as none of these facilities are in the room.
We made some wonderful friends at Cala D Or and we are all (and that is 4 families) going back again next year to meet up. Once again thank you Cala D Or staff for making our holiday a magical time

A very welcoming hotel, with good sized rooms, an outdoor pool, and direct access to a small sheltered beach. The staff were all extremely helpful, both with matters connected to the hotel and with information about local events and transport.
We would recommend it as a hotel for adults rather than families, as other than the beach and a safe area of the swimming pool, there seemed to be limited facilities for children.
Breakfast is buffet style with a wide selection of foods to suit all tastes. We took a half board offer and enjoyed our evening meals (3 courses, each with several choices and a large range of deserts). Evening entertainment was provided on 4 of the 9 nights we stayed - musicians, singers and a flamenco group.
The hotel is located conveniently for walking to both the resort centre and the marina area, both of which offer a wide selection of good restaurants, bars and quite a few shops. The resort itself seemed clean and well maintained and was easy and cheap to get around by using the little road trains that run frequently between Cala D'Or and the connecting areas.

The hotel itself was good. The breakfast and evening meal were always quite high quality and had enough adequate choice for our 3 year old.
The staff all spoke good English and were very helpful, as was the rep although the trip to the waterpark was advertised as 1 hour on the coach and it was more like 2.5 which was a bit difficult with our daughter.
The resort itself was excellent with good selection of bars and restaurants, and the marina was 20 mins walk away.
Overall it was enjoyable for all the family.

We stayed at the Cala D’or Hotel for 7 nights Saturday 18.08.07. We travelled with Sovereign. When we arrived we were given a ground floor room which smelt very damp, it was small and dark.
We had paid extra for a Side sea View, this room had no view you had to walk out, across the patio, onto a public path to see the sea. I should not have unpacked as the room was very poor. However I did unpack and went to reception later that evening, they had no others rooms, but said if I came back Monday they may be one available.
I did go back and on Monday we were moved to another room, this still had a slight damp smell, but was on a high floor and was much bigger and brighter. The staff are very helpful, but this hotel should not be given a 4 Star rating the rooms are only 2 star.
Each time we dressed for dinner we noticed our clothes feeling more and more damp. When we packed to come home I always do a room sweep for left behind bits and bobs and I looked under the beds I noticed the bed base had mould growing, this confirmed our feeling of dampness. We only had breakfast at the hotel which was excellent, but the overall holiday was disappointing due the quality of the rooms.
When we were leaving on Saturday 25th two young ladies were refusing their room, so the travel agents should be aware of this problem and need to address it ASAP.

This 4 star hotel is an ideal destination for a relaxing holiday in a privileged location above the sea. You can reach the beach using steps from the hotel. The beach, like most others in Cala D’or, is a small cove and has room for a couple of hundred people.
My boyfriend and I (both in our 20's) stayed at this hotel at the start of September and found everything about this hotel charming and relaxing. The staff are fantastic and can’t do enough to help you.
The room was bigger than I thought and was well equipped with satellite television, telephone, air-conditioning, safety box, heating, bathroom and a very cheap mini-bar. The room was also cleaned everyday and at night the beds where re-made and blankets pulled down for us.
We had a room with a partial sea view; other rooms had views of the beautiful Mediterranean gardens, which are kept to perfection. One thing I would say is that the café nearest the beach is not good, instead eat in the poolside bar.
We went B&B at this hotel and I would highly recommend this, as the breakfast was fantastic, a huge range of food is available and breakfast is served from 8-10:30am.
On our last morning we had to leave the hotel at 6:30am and waiting for us was a cold breakfast in the dinning room, which was very kind and appreciated.
Cala D’or itself is a busy town with tourists and is ideal for everyone, from families to younger couples. The pedestrian square is full of a huge range of restaurants, bars and shops and the impressive marina, (which is well worth a visit) also has some lovely restaurants, esp. Blanco y Negro.
There’s lots to do in the area, just pick up some information leaflets in the hotel and book the excursions, it’s cheaper to book yourself than with the hotel. The buses are easy to use and the trains are also great, even just to sit on for an hour and take a tour of your surroundings.
All in all a great holiday

To start with once I had booked to stay in at this hotel then stupidly enough I looked at reviews and I absolutely panicked about the food the place everything. But it’s all not true. I swear! There were a couple of problems but nothing major that would make me write a terrible review.
First of the hotel is beautiful it has lots of lovely palm trees and the building itself is just classy looking inside and out. The pool is fantastic it is pretty big however the only thing is like one of the people have said that have just been there you do have to go pretty early to get a sun lounger. But me and my partner decided after a few days to just go for a quick dip in the pool and then disappear up to our balcony to do our sunbathing.
The place is absolutely magic for kids. The entertainers are fantastic with them. And you could see all the kids enjoyed it and the parents were glad of some quiet time (admit it!). The nighttime entertainment is a laugh as well even if you don’t have kids (like us) they do put on a great show. Entertainment is from 11am-11pm at night and music is played all day. However on a Saturday is there day off just in case you wonder.
Me and my partner went all inclusive since this was out first holiday abroad with each other which was quite scary and well I don’t regret a minute of it. You get all soft drinks which are diet coke, coke, Fanta, sprite etc. all for free on tap everyday and beer and cocktails etc and its fantastic for during the day or a drink before you go out or when you come in.
The food is fine. For me it was hard as I am a vegetarian so I have to admit there was not much for me to eat apart from salad rolls and cheese and chips (but hey at least I lost a few pounds!)Breakfast is fantastic I would say go down early at 8:30 though before it is packed coz its much quieter and easier to go up and get coffee and juice etc. Lunch was fine and dinner was fine too but they could have marked things a bit clearer because some things I wasn’t sure whether I could eat or not and you didn’t know what sauce they were in etc but the chef person was normally standing behind the counters so you could probably ask if you grabbed him.
The place itself is fantastic. I would recommend sparkles for nighttime entertainment it has karaoke which is a laugh if its busy and Scooby’s snack bar is great if your wanting a good plate of chips or a cheese and pickle sandwich or anything British really. Yates is a really nice bar as well we went there to read the British newspapers and staff were really friendly and all this is just 5 mins away from the hotel! Oh and buy cigarettes at a place called tabacs which is next to the Scooby snacks place as nowhere else seems to sell them.
The only problems I found from this place is for young couples who want to go clubbing or anything like that there’s not anything to be honest. Its more just if you want a quiet relaxing holiday and if kids don’t annoy you. You will be grand. Also I have to admit we did get ants in our room but not loads nothing you couldn’t handle with a little insect spray. The staff at reception are lovely but do not seem to know English very well especially the guy who was on night duty when we were there. He had not a clue about anything so any problems ask during the day.
Taxis to Cala D’Or are 5euros there and back and the taxi rank is 5 mins away. We didn’t really explore Cala D’Or that much but it has loads of restaurants if your wanting a wide a varied choice. But then so does the place your staying in.
Anyway in all honesty if you have kids GO without a doubt. Its fantastic for them and yeah I would recommend all-inclusive but take a bit of extra money for going out for dinner. Which isn’t that expensive if you go to the right places.
Do not let previous reviews put you off. As I found nothing of this. Hopes this helped anyone.

The hotel Cala D'or is a lovely hotel located in a quiet part of Cala D'or, yet it is only a two minute walk to the restaurants and shops. It is set in immaculate gardens with a path right onto one of the quietest coves in Cala D'or. The hotel does not have any facilities for children, indeed, Airtours does not accept any bookings from parties with children. The food was magnificent and abundant, don't expect any British rubbish however, because the hotel has an international clientele. Live entertainment is provided twice a week in season, there is also a wonderful lady - Carenya, who organizes bus and boat excursions from as little as 3 euro, plus guided walks and other activities at no charge
