A Great Family Holiday!!
8 / 10
Aug 2011, Kay

This was our first family holiday with both our girls, aged 3 and 10 for quite some time so we wanted it to be good, our local travel agency were very helpful in making sure we chose the right place. We,d never been to an Iberostar Hotel before but heard lots of good reports about them before hand. We were not disapointed, everywhere in the hotel was spotlessly clean, the accomodation was cleaned every day and you could have clean linen and towels daily aswell if you wished. We went All Inclusive for the first time too which was just great especially for the drinks and ice creams, but there was so much choice at breakfast, lunch and tea even for very fussy eaters!! And my girls can be fussy but there was lots for them to choose from. There was lots of fresh food cooked every day too as you waited from pancakes at breakfast to chicken or pork steaks at night, plenty of fresh fruit and lovely deserts, and you could have as much or as little as you wanted. The staff could'nt do enough for you, clearing the tables all the time so there was always somewhere to sit. The pool area was lovely plenty of sunbeds and parasols and trees for shade, it was just right in our first week but it did get busy into our second week but its got to be expected in August when most people go on holiday and its just expected that you have to get up early to reserve your sunbeds its what you do when you go on a holiday like this and its not just the British either!! Its part of the fun. The Iberostar entertainers were absolutley fab!!!! I cant say enough about them, always on the go getting the children and adults involved, my 10 year old loved the Maxi club you didnt have to do it every day but it was there if you did, pool activities, plus lots of other things too. They did the childrens evening entertainment too and really got the children involved. My husband really enjoyed the water polo and beach volley ball too but you didnt have to do it, it was your choice. The hotel was a 15-20 min walk from C'an Picafort which was fine for us, there was a beach closer at Son Baulo which there was a bus to from the hotel. All in all it was a truely great holiday and we would definitly stay at an Iberostar Hotel again.

Lovely hotel, very clean and good fascilities... The hotel is a bit secluded though and a good twenty minute walk to supermarkets/restaurants/beaches etc. Can Picafort/Alcudia etc has turned a bit trashy (KFC, Burger King etc) but if you look closely you can find some gems (Bodega D'es Port restaurant, Alcudia). Would advise hiring a car also, this is about the cheapst thing to do in the med now (100 euro for 4xdays) as everything else is pricey. Hire a car and the whole island opens up to you with some lovely restaurants and beaches and places to see....

Apartment and complex were both...
7 / 10
Aug 2008, Mrs J Lovegrove

Apartment and complex were both really good. But there was nothing for people who are self catering. We arrived at 9.30 pm and had to walk over 30 mins to nearest supermarket for basics. There was no cafe or snack bar on site either. I could not even buy a bottle of water at the bar. We got taxis all week as main resort was too far for a youngster to walk in the heat.
The resort, beach, sea all lovely, weather hot and sunny. so all in all we had a nice holiday. I would not go to the Vell Mari again though, because of the location.

We went here for one week in July....

Jul 2008, Mr G Yard

We went here for one week in July. Very clean and helpful friendly staff. Drinks not overpriced. Mostly a German resort though, and a lot of the evening entertainment was in german. For self catering all we had provided was a two ring hob and a fridge. No microwave or oven or toaster even.
No on site shop, but everything is a short taxi ride away for around 4euros. Free transfer to the beach at three seperate times of the morning and back again at dinner time.
Pool was lovely and warm especially on the very hot days. Had to get up early to get sunbeds but u expect that in peak season. Park on site for the kids, which they loved although my daughter got a leech on her leg in the evening at the park.
Indoor pool is not heated, is colder than the outside! We didnt eat at the hotel as it was very expensive, and it very cheap down on the beach front. We recommend Mo's bar, lovely people!
Beaches are lovely and safe for kids. U have to hire the sunbeds at 5euros each. We just laid on our towels, towels are available from the hotel for 10euros each towel deposit at the start of your holiday.
Would go to can picafort again, but would prefer to stay at a more english hotel, but this hotel was nice for our stay this time.

This hotel is well worth a visit!...

This hotel is well worth a visit! The staff, food, accommodation and facilities are all very good. The entertainment team were the best I have seen. They all gave a 110%. The hotel is a little away from the main shopping area and beach so if you fancy a nice walk along the prom after dinner you will have to walk about 1km or pay 4euros in a taxi (which we did most nights). Advice would be to hire a car - but from town not the hotel (better rates). My nine year old loved the maxi club. My fifteen year old mixed in with all the adult games. Don't revisit places very often, but we would go back again.
