Comments:  Firstly, I am quite a holiday snob....Can't help it, I just am! So be assured that not only do I have quite high standards, I will also be very HONEST! Probably doesn't help that I once worked in a hotel! Very rarely to I stay at anything below a 4 star....that all said......

My hubby and I have travelled to the Santa Eulalia region 3 times before, and have always stayed in the main resort.

I had read the reviews about this hotel being quite out of the way, and it is, there is no denying this, although we didn't venture anywhere as the whole point of this break was to do nothing!

We arrived at silly o'clock in the morning at the hotel. Check in was quick, effecient and very polite. The night auditor even physically took us to our room as it was dark!

ROOM:
The room itself was up several flights of stairs (I notice someone did moan about the stairs, but quite frankly, if you can't walk up some blinking stairs then you need to look at your fitness levels!!).....Let's face it, once the case is up there, its there for a week or two!

The room was spotlessly clean and I would imagine had been decorated ready for this new season.
We had a seperate double bedroom (with huge wardrobe), small kitchenette (and we were on all inclusive!), lovely bathroom, good size balcony and twin beds in the another part of the room.
Sadly, there was no window in the "master" double, which mean it was really dark, all the time, but lets face it, how long do you really spend in there!?
I have to say, it would have been nice to have a bottle of water in the room for arrival, as the bar etc was long closed and we couldn't get a drink of water anywhere...(Although if we had asked, we may well have been given something).

LOCATION/AREA
In the morning we were able to have a proper look about. The exterior of some of the complex could do with a little lick of paint and some TLC...nothing major.
The gardens are lovely, and the whole complex feels really spaced out and not all cramped and on top of one another. We were in the B block, but there were loads of little 1 storey appartments all dotted about. The hotel itself is in quite a residential area, almost hard to tell where this started and where it stopped. Little local shop just couple of mins walk away. The beach was in walking distance, but not for the faint hearted, although it did look a beautiful cove (we are not beach people!). Couple of restaurants dotted about outside the complex, which looked nice and we were told by another family were very resonable and tasty.

FOOD/DRINK:
Breakfast was great, the choice was brilliant...especially when you think of the money being paid and the star rating of hotel.
What I also thought was great was the meal times. How many times have I had to wake myself before I am ready to get to breakfast?! This hotel ran from 8 to 10, which was perfect. Lunch was 1-2.30 and dinner was 7-9.

All the meals were great, there was only one night where we couldn't really find something to our taste, but that was down to personal taste (we dont really like fish). Although, this was the night they put rabbit on the menu...which would have been fine, but there were lots of children at this hotel and I can't imagine how much therepy they will need after learning that "floppy the bunny" was on the menu!!!!!
I have to say I was very pleased to see that they didn't serve ruddy chips every day!!! If you want chips and sausages every day, STAY IN ENGLAND!!!!!!!!!!!!! And it was so nice to see veggies every day! I often come back needing some vitamins, but there was always something green available.
They had some of the best blue cheese I have ever had on the cheese counter!!!!!
Also great salad bar selection both lunch and dinner every day.

Ice cream was available for kids all day and at meals the adults got a look in with it! The hazlenut flavour was fab!!!

From about 10am they start serving cakes, pastries, sandwiches, fruit and crisps at the pool bar!!!! All you can eat crisps, I thought I had gone to heaven!!!!!

The all inclusive drinks stopped at 11pm, but to be honest, this is a family hotel really, so there was very few still about at this time of night. The bar does remain open, but you then have to pay for drinks...I think we outstayed our welcome one night, as the staff closed up at about 1am!!!! And you can certainly get your fill through out the day.

POOL AREA
The pool area is a real winner at this hotel. The pool itself is a great size, shape and even heated!!! They have a life guard during the day, which I think is a great idea, although does rather encourage those less attentive parents to look away more! The life guard himself was great, even down to teaching some of the kids to swim and getting in the pool with them for a splash about and game of water footie!
The childrens pool is a good distance away from the "adult" pool and a great size too, complete with loads of its own sunbeds and room for all the family.

Loads of sunbeds and no need to get up at dawn to reserve around the "adult" pool too, and more were brought out as the week went on.

ENTERTAINMENT
Entertainment is sadly another story.....I imagine that the four youngsters who ran the club were great with kids, I can't comment, we did not travel with any, but in my view they were too young to be solely in charge of this complex. We had two external entertainments whilst there, one was brilliant (african footprint), one was not so great (some guitar playing quintet). The in-house entertainment crew put on a couple of shows, and to be honest, they would have been better to just stick some music on to dance too! They mimed their way through a painful re-inactment of Greece, then one night (football was on) gave the hotel guests the choice of entertainment, as they hadn't planned anything!!!!!! (Music quizz won!)
The kids disco must drive ALL the staff insane by the end of the season, as its the same4 songs over and over and over again!

I have to say though, again, this entertainment was no worse though than that 5 star last year (cor bet you are dying to know which hotel that was!)....

There was only one bar open while we were there, the pool bar, but they did open the lower bar for a day when the rain was biblical!!!!! I dont know, but maybe they open both in the peak season...

STAFF:
All the staff are really friendly and very helpful, much better than last years 5star!

Anyway, I have turned into one of those rambling reviews...

Long and short...Go to this hotel with an open mind and remember what you are paying and the star rating and you will be pleasantly surprised.

I would definately go back here for a little get away again, with or without children....

Comments:  Primarily a family complex but my husband and I joined friends there, he is slightly disabled and this was a concern but the hotel manager and his staff did everything they could to make our stay go smoothly.

As it was an internet booking we did not know what sort of room we would get but when we got there they were only too delighted to get us a room with roll in shower and ramps for the wheelchair.

The hotel was very clean and the food on the buffet very varied, drinks from the bar unlimited. The entertainment was not brilliant but fun. Unfortunately we could not access the beach but the fit among us did, steep steps and rough ground but a nice beach. A good place for a family holiday .

Comments:  Really enjoyed this holiday. Every year, the kids (now 10 & 13) rave about how the holiday we've just been on is the 'best ever,' but this is the only one they've said they want to go back to!

When we arrived, we were given a basic snack which saw us through until dinner in the evening.

An initial hiccup was that the room we were provided with wasn't what I booked. I was expecting a 1 bedroom apartment with kitchen/fridge etc as shown on the website and detailed on my confirmation documents, but we were put in a flat with one bedroom, a bathroom and two sofa beds. There was nothing wrong with the room in itself, but as that wasn't what I had booked, I explained at reception and the next day the manager moved us to the expected apartment - great.

The complex was like a small village, with lovely gardens and well maintained communal areas. There was plenty for the kids to do; once they had both made friends we hardly ever saw them.

About 80% of the guests seemed to be Irish, with a smattering of English, German etc

Plenty for everyone to do... football for the kids and adults, Aqua-aerobics, water polo, table tennis, pool and many more organised games throughout the day if you wanted to take part. There was even a free diving lesson in the pool for anyone who fancied it - my hubby really enjoyed that, so much so that he booked to go on the half day session at the beach later in the week.

Evening entertainment was fine, usually put on by the in-house kids reps. There could have been a few more external acts, but hey - everyone expects a few cheesy musical presentations on a family holiday!

The food was varied and always cooked to perfection. There were more fish dishes than on any of the other AI holidays we've been on, and I have to say they were all delicious.

The complex is about a mile and half outside Es Cana - quite isolated really - but we hired a car for the week from the airport, so were able to get out and about if we wanted.

My only minor gripe would have to be that the pool itself was a little on the small side. On other AI holidays we've been spoilt with huge free-form pools and I have to admit to being a little disappointed when we arrived - after a day or so, you just forget about it, any pool is great for a swim in the hot weather!

I have one major complaint and that is the security on the complex. Anyone from outside can walk into the hotel and grounds completely unmonitored. One day there was a Spanish chap taking photos of the boys while they played football. A couple of the guys moved him on - but I think it's an issue that they need to address in the future.

All in all, a brilliant holiday and would highly recommend it to families with younger children. Your older teenagers may get a bit bored.

Comments:  Fantastic place, we are heading out for the fourth time. We have 2 kids, boy 13 and girl 10 and they beg to go back each year. Entertainment is good, food good but you get sick of it after 14 days (usually 'cos you eat too much). We brought relatives with us this year, and they said the best holiday they've had and now their kids, girls aged 16 and 11 are demanding them to go back too. So there's nothing else for it but to head back again this summer. We will be taking another relative with son aged 7. Plenty to do for kids (sports wise). Beach is 5-10 min walk. Isolated from other resorts, but for lazy holiday for the parents (as the kids are entertained or entertain themselves) this is the place. To go shopping you can get bus into Santa Eulalia, or taxi's (about €12) each way.

Each to their own, but I think its fantastic value for families. Not suitable for clubbers or younger couples.

Staff are great and forever cleaning sun loungers, chairs/tables, etc.

Comments:  We spent 9 days at Club Cala Llenya and had a fabulous time. The apartments were clean, the restaurant offered a wide choice of food, the staff were very helpful and friendly, and the entertainment for both children and adults was brilliant.

The pool and bar area are lovely and the complex itself is set in a lovely location which is perfect for families.

We enjoyed ourselves so much that we are going to return next year with another family that we met and became friends with.

9 days wasn't long enough and we were sorry to have to leave, so we've decided to go for 14 days next year and can't wait to return.

Comments:  Best holiday I have had in years.....I went with my partner and two children aged 8 and 2, and we have no complaints at all.

The apartment was spacious and cleaned every day, fresh towels and beds made. Air conditioned which could be turned off if needed and although we were all inclusive we had a kitchen area which was a bonus.

The whole complex was lovely and tidy and 2 supermarkets on our doorstep, and a pizza restaurant.

Small walk to the beach down some steps but worth it, in a small cove it was also clean and great for the kids.

So much to do for the kids, the hotel run its own kids club which was excellent and also they did many games for the adults too. There was evening entertainment every night.

The pool was just the right size, and the kid’s pool was great for my 4 year old, and there were plenty off sun beds in the shade and no fighting for them either which was a surprise!

Lots of nationalities there, English, Irish, German and Spanish but all friendly and willing to join in all the entertainment!

The food was amazing, the hotel catered for everyone, there was always chips for the kids and a massive variety every day, and the staff were great too.

Will definitely go back and recommend this hotel to anyone.

Comments:  A fantastic complex for families, couples; might be a bit remote for singles.

Excellent accommodation with air conditioning; superb choice and variety of food and the entertainment was best of all.Three cheers for Trudy,Samuel,Kim,Elvira and Audry-their own shows were far better than the shows brought in.

We travelled with our two sons aged 5 and eight. Great pool scene especially the shallow end which was great for our younger son who is not great at swimming yet. Everyone we met was very impressed and we heard no complaints from any of the other guests.

A lot of Germans,Dutch,English and Irish.

We go on three all-inclusive holidays a year;this is the only place we have been to twice and will definitely return regularly instead of trying different places which is our habit.

Beautiful landscaped gardens and chalets; very friendly and helpful staff with excellent English. One side of the pool with plenty of shade and sunny on the other three sides.

Lovely beach nearby but has a lot of steps down to it. Lots of pathways through the surrounding forests for walking. Bus service three times daily from outside the complex; supermarket and a few good restaurants within easy walking distance.

Comments:  Just arrived back from Ola club Cala Llenya. We booked 2 weeks before and were not disappointed. 1 week was certainly not long enough for me or my children. We arrived early hours of Thursday morning and greeted at the reception politely and friendly, we were shown to the restaurant where some basic food and drink was waiting for us.
We were given a map and told how to find our room, this was my only gripe about the holiday, lugging cases to the apartment and then up 3 floors of stairs, a small sacrifice I suppose.

The room was adequate, air conditioned, small bathroom, very dark bedroom and two "camp beds" for the kids, these were almost like proper beds and not the ones I had envisaged, small balcony with a tiny sea view overlooking gardens volleyball court and tennis/football area.

The large pool was clean and safe, life guarded every day. Restaurant was cool and the food was brilliant, loads of choice, different every day, tables cleared quickly by very polite staff. Table tennis table was free (small deposit if children only) pool tables were 1 euro which I thought was supposed to be free.

The entertainment in the day was good, the children’s club did things ready to show off at night, my kids didn’t join in much they are just too shy, another week and they would have done more I’m sure.
For adults there was football (playing at 12 noon should be addressed) water polo, volleyball, darts, sjoelen(like giant shove halfpenny) so plenty to do.

The beach was a short 5 min walk down some steps to a cove where there was a gentle slope into the sea, beach was sandy, lots of seaweed the 2nd time we went, some good snorkelling around the rocks with plenty of fish to see, beach was clean, there is a bar down there for drinks and toilets, we hired 4 beds and 2 parasols for shade at a cost of 24 euros for all day.

The animation staff who dealt with the children and did the entertainment at night were fantastic and who were at times up against some unruly Irish children who didn’t seem to understand no children on the stage.

The all inclusive drinks were very good, we didn’t have any complaints at all, very good place to stay, if you want clubbing and busy towns somewhere else would be better but for families it is a1.

Comments:  Apartments are clean, air conditioned and functional.

Food is very good, plentiful, well cooked with a great variety for all tastes. Salads and fruit are always fresh and plentiful. Kids always have an option including pizza, chicken nuggets, pasta, chips etc. There is a great show chef option with superb fish and meat options as well as at least four or five other main options. Loads of desserts. The staff are very efficient and it never felt crowded even in peak season.

Bar staff were superb - extremely hard working and always available and making sure kids weren't ignored if they went to get their own drinks.

Entertainment was varied and fun and they work really hard to involve everyone although you're not pressured to take part if you don't want to.

Pool is great with a small kids pool as well. Table Tennis and Pool Tables available and Internet access - 1 euro for ten mins.

Beach is about 15 minutes walk down a set of steps and rocky path - but worth the effort. Make sure you check the flags before going in the sea though as an orange or red usually means jelly fish and they sting as several of us found out!!

From the moment you arrive to the time to go home, nothing is too much trouble even at 3.00am in the morning, when you get a breakfast and a cheerful goodbye to see you on your way.

If you want a fairly quiet, relaxing holiday and don't need shops or clubs then this is a great place to stay.

Comments:  We have just returned from the Ola Club Cala Llenya Apartments. and want to go back now. we had a fab bungalow with a rooftop terrace and a great maid service. We met some lovely people while having a brilliant time. There was a mixture of Irish, English, and German. Spanish and Dutch holidaymakers all joining in the fun. There is plenty for everyone to do and there were some great water-polo games in the afternoons. The meals were varied every day (but please add potatoes each day) so you had plenty to choose from. The animators were fantastic. They put on some great shows. This hotel is spotless clean, very well run and has lovely staff. Say hi to Toni, Pedro and Maria when you hit the bar. It is €11.50 in a taxi to as Cana. There are 2 shops and a restaurant within 2 mins walk. The restaurant also does a pizza take-away for €5-6, and they were lovely. This is a fab place for couples and families alike. Car hire is expensive in the local rental, but we got a car for 7 days for €182 in es Cana. finally a big thanks to Becky for being such a fantastic rep. ..roll on next year.

Comments:  Great. Mid Sept 06. My, husband, I and our son aged 2 1/2. We Live near Heathrow and Gatwick.

I consider it to be a Good 3 Stars. Not quite 4, but a very good 3. I have stayed at some other, supposedly 3 stars, which were awful. This is 3 stars + Air conditioned rooms and dining room.

Food very good. Soup, nice salad bar, pasta, fresh grill bar, meats, chips and veg, deserts. A bit repetitive, but I think you get that anywhere if you stay for 2 weeks.

I agree with nearly all the other posters comments. Apart from the lady who clearly wanted to be in the centre of clubbing Ibiza town! It is in the middle of nowhere. Beach a rocky climb down, but pleasantly basic. Taxi to Es Cana, or Saint Eulalia - 12 Euros. A very infrequent bus to those towns.

This place is perfect for families. Nice pool and separate children’s pool. Sand area with slides and rockers Kids club for 2-4yrs, 4-8 yrs, and 8-13 yrs. These run for 1 hr in the morning and 2hrs in the afternoon.

Then there are games, football, waterpolo and lots of other things on offer for adults and older children. Some holidays, you get bullied into joining in; or the aqua-aerobics is so loud and in you face, you just wish for a bit of peace and quiet -it's not like that here - very relaxed.

Evening entertainment starts with entertainment team doing 1/2 hr of dancing with the children. The kids soon learn the songs. My son LOVED it. So did EVERY other child. They were up there like a shot. Then there is a show - mainly the entertainers dancing. A few nights of audience participation- quiz, men v women -doing silly things. The entertainment is far from, what you would get in Cuba, or on a cruise, but it was o.k. / fine. But the entertainers work hard, from dawn to dusk.

We went first week of September. We were the only English couple there. Loads of Irish and lots of Germans. Can't understand why more travel agents aren't selling it to the English. The atmosphere was brilliant. The number of people there was perfect. I would NOT want to be there in High Season - July and August.

My only complaint is that the second week was considered to be low season: The food was not as good & less choice. But my main complaint was that they thus turned the air-con off. Which was one of the main reasons why we chose it -because we struggle to sleep when the temp has been 28 degrees & we were told is was a/con all the time.

I would highly recommend this to families. We wanted to lie down for 2 weeks. Play with our son in the pool. Have him in a kids club for an hour or so. We wanted good food, comfy rooms with air con. We wanted to go for 1 or 2 days out - to Eulalia shops and beach. And on a train, like Thomas the tank.

Would I return? Definitely. But not in the highest season. If you want a mainly resort based, family holiday, in a decent, clean, not the most sophisticated, but good resort. Then this is for you. A total bargain. I only wish more English knew about it.

Comments:  This was my second year in Club Cala Lleyna, but I am returning again next year it was so good. There was an endless supply of food all day. The rooms and complex were spotless thanks to a great team of domestic staff.

The entertainment staff were first class, Eve, Jay, Hennrietta, T Jay, Marikea, Edvaldo and Maud. They were the magnificent 7 in true life. They couldn't do enough for us. The shows they put on every night were fab.

They have a baby club, a mini club, a maxi club and a teenie club with activities all day so every one from babies to teenagers are involved. While the kids are in the various clubs there are activities for the adults. I had 4 children with me, 9, 10, 13 and 14 years old and they didn't want to come home. They can't wait until next year.

Comments:  The “Ola Hotel” @ Cala Llenya is situated in the middle of no where, there are no bars at all within walking distance, you have to get a cab to either es canar or Santa Elluliah each about 13 euros each way. If you like bingo and the hotel club dance then this is the place for you!!!!!!!, the majority of guests at this hotel are British with the odd German, who all complained about the location of the Ola Hotel. The beach is at least 500meters away down a road, steps and rock path, but once you are there is it lovely. The bar at the hotel stops serving food at 5.00pm and not 10.00pm and stops serving drinks at 2.00am. The entertainment is varied with the hotel reps doing their thing and groups/singers other nights. At the restaurant you know what you are getting each night, no variety of food, which was average. On leaving we were told that there would be a room to have a shower and get changed, there was not. I was there 6/8/05-13/8/05

Comments:  I spent two weeks in Ola Club Cala Llenya... Two years running. That’s how much I liked it. I am 17 years old and was ecstatic with the sports activities offered all day every day.

Not only that there was dozens of other people my age there so you were never bored. At night there was a variety of things to do whether that was eating at the resort, or one of four restaurants on the complex, one could sit by the pool relaxing and enjoying the show every night which the guests are often asked to participate in, take part in bingo or if you wish you could take a taxi to Es Cana (12euro) or to st. Eulalia (19euro) where there are a variety of pubs and restaurants respectively.

There is also kiddies club during the day and games for the adults such as darts, cards and water aerobics etc. Cala Llenya is my favourite holiday destination and I shall be returning once again in July 2006.
