I think its an excellent hotel and place to stay its just a shame that its not in all the brochures. I think the only problem is behind where were the land was just mud no grass or anything and you could see straight to the shops/bars and restaurants. Overall thought its an excellent place and the staff are amzing and very friendly. The beach is lovely and the entertainment is good. We spent most of our time on the trampolines up next to Wilsons pub. I would recommend anyone to go and spend a week or two there as its amazing!

I too read the reviews and was a bit worried about going to Sol Parc. We had a wonderful holiday but I give fair warning that if you are looking for night life this is not the place! We have two young children so this was not a problem for us! The beach is fantastic and the kids had a great time despite the the weather not being so great. They have good play areas but no evening entertainment (unless your count the kids disco which was frequented by mainly under 3's).
The resort itself seems to have some work done on it and was clean and well cared for, the boardwalk down to the beach looked new and there was a lot of new plants around. The 'strip' of shops and resturants were okay but nothing special although I would recommend the Hong Kong Chinese resturant which was excellent and Anna was really great with the kids.
I liked Menorca but would recommend getting a car as there was no bus service to speak of and I never really saw any taxis in the resort. Fornells is quite nice for a posh meal, Mao and Citedella for shopping and the Wet and Wild park great fun if a little expensive (17Euros for adults 10E for kids).

My daughter and I stayed in Sol Parc three years in a row - 2003, 04 and 05. During our last holiday, the staff told us the complex was being taken over by a German company, and a First Choice rep informed us there would no longer be holidays to Sol Parc from the UK. To say we were disappointed was an understatement; we absolutely loved it, and the staff were amazing. On each occasion we returned, my daughter was greeted with great affection by the staff, particularly Maria who was the head waitress at the barbecue, and Vincente, one of the bar staff. Having read the reviews, I can see there have been some changes; however, I am glad my daughter, who is now eight, has some lovely memories of Sol Parc and the wonderful reception and affection we experienced there.

After I had booked the holiday I started reading some of the reviews on this accommodation and needless to say I was dreading my holiday.
It is not that bad but certainly not the best place or resort I have stayed in. It depends what you are after really. When we arrived the overall impression was of a British Holiday camp like Pontins but without the British (it is predominantly German). The rooms are very dark and outdated but I have to say our room was very, very clean and I could not complain about the maid service (every other day). The hotel is very near the beach but if you have walking difficulties or have pushchairs or small children with you you are going to struggle. The access to the beach is down, all I can describe, is a sand dune with a wooden walkway that is broken. Once you get there though, the beach is nice but very remote and there are no bars or shops near so once you are there you are there for the day!
Because of this we ended up travelling all holiday to Arenal and Fornells where the beach is nice. Unfortunately there are no buses to Arenal even though its next resort on and that costs 16 euros each way.
The resort in general is great for kids on a night; every bar has bouncy castles, go karts etc. The restaurants not over priced and a good selection for a small resort.
Hope this has kind of helped if you have booked!
P.S. Our ages are 32, 26, 3, 18 months.

We have visited this hotel some 4 times previously and had an absolutely fantastic time which has prompted us to return again and again.
However, we missed last year’s annual summer hol and something has happened to the hotel during this period. Firstly, there is usually a lovely b.b.q. restaurant (which is still being advertised in the brochures) on site where you can enjoy a nice meal facing the stage whilst the little ones enjoy the nightly mini disco.
The b.b.q. restaurant no longer exists (apparently been shut for a year now) which means you have to go out to eat. There is a buffet restaurant on site but we only had breakfast there and it was the usual typical holiday buffet.
There is no evening snack bar either - just crisps sold from the bar (no ice creams or sweets). No longer any bar waiters which means a long queue to buy a drink (they don't sell cocktails!).
Entertainment was Flamenco TWICE! Chinese acrobats and a boring dance show (previous years have been fantastic). We had to get a taxi into Arenal D'en Castell for a bit of entertainment (The Temptations, Supremes, Boy band tributes) which are on at the Australian Outback bar.
The taxi cost approx 35 Euros return which we weren't expecting to shell out on all the time but Son Parc seems to close down at 10pm! The beach is absolutely fantastic though and is safe for children as it is very shallow (our kids are 10 and 5years). If you go out to eat at the strip do not eat at Mama Mias. There is a very nice friendly Chinese restaurant which is priced about the same as you'd pay back home.
Oh yes, multi-lingual people may enjoy this resort more as at the Son Parc at time of our stay there were only another 3 English Families. Rest of guests were mainly Spanish, Italian, and Dutch & German.

The resort itself is really quiet so for those looking for evening entertainment and a wild time this wouldn’t suit.
However if you are looking for a tranquil place to recharge your batteries and escape the rat race its perfect.
The beach is stunning and is accessed by a board walk through the picturesque sand dunes.
The pool is surrounded by trees so there is always a shady spot to hide from the mid day sun. There are plenty of beds available for those who want to sunbathe and the water is cool and clean.

I visited Son Parc with my husband and three children at Whistun. Having never been to Menorca before we were unsure what resort to stay in and so took pot luck when booking.
Firstly I have to say the accommodation was wonderful, apartments were clean and bright and the site itself had everything you could wish for. Great for the kids. As for the beach the beach itself; would have been delightful had the water not been absolutely full of jelly fish, whether this was the time of year I do not know but we saw several people including children be stung.
The shops on the site itself were absolutely astronomically expensive and I would not recommend them either by choice or by price.
The village of Son Parc itself was very small and soulless, you could have been anywhere. There was hardly any choice of restaurants and no Spanish food available, just your usual chips and burgers and pizzas.
The resort is also quite away from any of the other resorts worth visiting so you definitely need a car.
WORD OF WARNING
Do not call out a doctor unless it is absolutely necessary, we had to call one for our child who had something stuck in his eye and he ended up being taken by private ambulance to Mahon (the other side of the island) and hospitalised completely unnecessary (we think to obtain money from our insurance company).

This is a really difficult one to rate as there were some good points and some bad points. I'll address these one by one:
Location:
The resort of Son Parc is very small and there isn't much in the way of choice for eating out. Hence, all the places to eat are VERY expensive compared to other resorts. There is also precious little Spanish food so you tend to get pizza and chips on most menus. If you can, hire a car and try out other towns and villages because there really isn't very much here despite a handful of shops, restaurants and a beach. If you like going abroad without experiencing any culture then this place will be for you. The village wasn't necessarily for me.
Oh, by the way - DO NOT FORGET YOUR MOZZIE REPELLANT. I have been on many, many holidays and I have never known anything like it. I can only compare it to Mull (famous for killer midgies).
The resort facilities:
The apartment facilities were excellent. The rooms were spacious with TV, fridge, cooker etc. The swimming pool was good with some shade (some tan seekers may not like this) and a separate children’s' area. There are lots of child play areas. I really can't complain about anything here, but I will say that the emphasis is on young families. There is a shop on site but DO NOT USE IT. It is twice the price of any other shop on resort.
Food / Drink / Entertainments:
On the first night we got here my wife sent me out for dinner. I ordered a pizza from the hotel cafe/bar (it was quite late). The pizza was half cooked bland frozen rubbish. In general, food was not good so we chose to eat out of site and, where possible, in a different village or resort. Drinks on site were expensive compared to bars in the resort, but there was an entertainment program. The kiddy disco was great and the night entertainment did its job!
The Beach:
There is a wooden walkway down to the beach from the resort (to help with the pushchairs). However, much of the site is covered in sand so you don't really have to go to the beach much. The beach is white and sandy.
Staff:
My experience was that the staff were generally helpful and friendly. The entertainment team was superb. I think they were largely Spanish entertainment school students and they really put a lot of effort into putting on good shows for both adults and children.
I hope that this gives a balanced view. I would go back here if my wife wanted to because there were some very good aspects and it is child friendly. However, I really do not like Son Parc very much so I would definitely have to have a hire car again.

Dark, dismal, dissapointing. If you like the sun on your balcony this is not the place for you. If you like bright, cheerful apartments this is not the place for you, if you like the company of Germans, Dutch, Belgians & hardly any British then this might be the place for you. The apartments are straight out of the early 70's, dark green & brown tiles everywhere, in most of them you can sit on the balcony & play spot the sky! If you like to be in a pine forest then this is an ideal location for you. There is no aircon, just a fan on the bedroom wall which we had to have on all the time. You DOOOOO need mosquito repellent. There are no electric kettles, just an old fashioned gas kettle that you have to heat on one of the two hotplates. Having said all that the maid service is good , they change towels & bedsheets every other day & the staff are friendly enough. In conclusion I would say that we would never, ever stay there again but it was cheap & I guess you get what you pay for!
