Nice modern hotel and in a good position. I would say that the hotel is small but excellent. However had no feeling of warmth from the reception who would not even look up from their computer when we come in or go out. Another negative aspect was that we booked the anniversary package which consisted of a bottle of cava champagne in room. I agree with the reviews that this is a beautiful hotel in a great location. However, I also agree with the reviewer who stated that his room was very warm. I have the same predicament. I was talking to a housekeeper about this and she mentioned that rooms on the second floor all tend to be warm for some reason. I suspect it is due to the kitchen below from the hotel restaurant. We booked early and got a terrific deal here -- 99 Euros a night in November. I was very impressed by the style, the friendly staff, and the amenities. The little office area with free Net access was great! Our balcony was a sunny surprise. And for a cold-weather visit, the indoor pool & sauna is a nice plus. We stayed in this hotel for three nights in August 04. It is a lovely hotel. We did not use the pool so I cannot comment. The restaurants in Barcelona close on a Sunday night (most of them, not all) and also for the Month of August. I would not recommend going to Barcelona in the middle of the summer. It is a very busy city and with the heat it makes it more difficult. My boyfriend and I have just returned from this hotel, after spending 3 nights there at the beginning of November 04. It was great! The best advice I can give is to look at the hotels own website - it provides pictures and a description of the hotel and to be honest its completely accurate. The rooms are great - very clean and very modern. Unfortunately, we had a room which backs onto the childrens playground (as mentioned in a previous posting). I'm glad I took a chance and stayed at this hotel. I was attending a conference at the Ritz but my company would have freaked if I turned in an expense report from there - besides, the Ritz is a little moldy at this point (except for the bar - awesome but incredibly expensive). Spent 4 nights here a week ago. Excellent, contemporary style hotel in great location near Pl. de Catalunya. Very helpful front desk staff. Our room wasn't huge but was adequate size. Nice bathroom w/ tub/shower. Did not eat breakfast in hotel so can't comment. Free Internet access in the hotel's small business center. Many restaurants and upscale shops nearby. At 123 Euro, I thought this hotel was a bargain.

The Atrium was recommended to my wife and I by a friend of ours. We booked a 3 night stay during Sept. of 2004 and found the price very reasonable. Upon arriving were happily surprsied, the hotel is in a prime location, 2 minutes from Playa De Catalunya and very modern. Rooms are a decent size and the staff at reception were very helpful in organising sight seeing trips etc.. Have just booked this hotel and hope it lives up to expectations. Have always stayed at the Jardi before but now find the price is not so competative, and if you get the wrong room it can be awful. I booked on a web-site but then found that booking direct with the hotel on it's web-site I got a better deal because the pre-booked breakfast rate is 50% off 7.50 euros instead of 15E. The 3 night deal seems to work out not much more than 2star rates so hope it lives up to it's 4 star superior rating. I think the pool however small will be... more
