Submitted By: Mrs F PatelAlthough the apartment we were given didnt have much of a view. One room had a brick wall as a view. and the front was surrounded by more apartments. The hotel is set away from the city and is quite peaceful.
My children enjoyed themselves very much at the kids club which looked after them during the morning and afternoon periods ( at no extra cost). they had various activities that kept them occupied, which gave us a chance to take a break. The kids club is for children aged 4 to 12 years.
There is a regular tractor sevice that takes you to turunc which takes about 10 minutes. a dolmus service runs too, but with the children we preferred either taxi or the tractor run.
The taxi boat ride from Turunc is a great way to get to places as you get to enjoy the sea views. 25 minutes to icmeler and 45 minutes to marmaris. you do tend to spend a lot on travel though.
The hotel is set on a slope. some of the areas aren`t really quite safe for little children as they could fall. I would recommend this hotel for people with older children.
There are a lot of activities to do in turkey such as the dalyan cruise, jeep safari, the turkish bath. all of which come at an extra cost. The wednesday market in icmeler is a great place to visit for cheap clothing and fake designer goods. They hold a local market in Turunc on mondays. Marmaris holds a market on Thursdays.
Overall a pleasant stay and a great place to visit. The people of turkey are very friendly and i would go there again.

Submitted By: 2eak02The CLC rep met us at the resort, we were asked to complete the usual registration forms and whilst that was being done off she went and ordered drinks for us on the house, next the bell boy arrived to show us to our room, he picked up one of the bags and pushed the two cases to the room, it was a ground floor with a view we couldnt believe, on showing us into our room we were met with the usual standard of CLC furnishings without the iron, ironing board or DVD player, this had been explained to my wife at the reception when booking in (the DVD player arrived same night, not that we used it) there was the usual welcome pack in the fridge and cupboards.
starting at 10am and finishing at 6.15pm there was a regular as clock work shuttle service to and from the village.
the pool bar had a great selection of drinks and was equalled by an excellant snack/food menu which could all be enjoyed whilst sharing a fabulous view of Turunc. we only used the restaurant for breakfast once but again the selection of food available was very good.
In the village you can sample some really good local hospitality, with excellant food and a service second to none, we ate at the Arcade, the Koftez and another restaurant just up the hill from where the shuttle dropped us off and I have to say the food, wine and service was second to none. Another place we spent alot of time at was the Habit bar and the Habit restaurant, the bar was staffed by the owner and 3 young guys, one was the local representative for the cocktail waiter of Turkey and the other 2 guys where just really welcoming and good fun to have round, the Habit restaurant owners and staff served up a variable menu of good local home cooked food with a very friendly atmosphere. I have to say also, when ready to go back to the Loryma on a night, the owner of the Habit either took us home or arranged for us to be taken home by the taxi owner from across the road, his name was Saffette or once you get to know him as we did he liked to called ny his nickname "Japon"
one thing I havent mentioned is "I am a right leg amputee and used walking aides all week whilst at the resort, one of my aides I used broke and the staff at The Loryma were very quick to supply a replacement, THANK YOU.
If you havent already worked it out, YES we will be going back to the Loryma for a second helping, hopefully in October this year.
feel free to email for me any other helped or details.

Submitted By: Mrs J PeterThe bar in the resort was a little expensive as was the transfer that Club La Costa arranged for us. They quoted us £135 return from Dalaman. We found out upon our arrival that this was the same price irrespective of how many in your party. We shared our outward journey with another couple and the price dropped to £110. We however did find a local travel agent who only charges £85.00 return for four people. Their web page is www.jmturkey.com. Ask for June she is an English lad who is very helpfull.
I know that this all seems like a lot of whinges but we realy had a fab time and the leather jacket store in the local town. King of leather will make made to measure leather jackets for the same price as an off the peg number. enjoy!!. we will be back.

Submitted By: Mrs H Howarththe apartment was the only disappointment. it was smallish for 5 and had limited self-catering facilities. the air con was chargeable and only in one room. the shop was manned by a lovely man but the stock was limited.
there was a tractor bus that went down to the town regularly which was great, although we did feel the hire car we had was needed.
our advice is add your lorymar credit card bill up daily to check for mistakes, this is the only way to pay in the resort.

Submitted By: hastymikeThe staff and Turkish people in general around the apartments and Turunc where so welcoming and friendly and not at all over powering. With three kids we were a bit wary about reports of the locals being over friendly but Turunc was a family orientated resort which was large enough to have enough choice but small enough to stay hassle free and relaxed.
There are some excellent restaurants in Turunc the Cardak (Shardak) on the front of the marina was excellent with the most friendly and helpful staff. Ali and his team made the meals we had there, a pleasure every time.
The apartments at the Loryma were basic but very comfortable; everything that you needed was in the apartment however the portable heating rings and microwave did not really lend itself to cooking properly in the apartment.
The apartment we stayed in had a Double bedroom and a twin bedroom with a double and a single pull down bed in the living area so plenty of beds. There was a balcony, but the view had been obstructed with overgrown trees. This made it private but a haven for insects, no big deal as we spent most of the time around the pool.
Friends a couple of apartments down had an excellent view of the bay, so it’s a bit of luck of the draw.
The bathroom had a toilet sink and shower, which always seemed to have hot water and quite powerful. The maid service was good and everything was kept clean and tidy. Any equipment or extra linen that was missing or needed replacing was brought to the room without any hassle.
The facilities were also excellent; the outside pool again had a great view and was positioned to benefit from the breeze coming through the mountains to the bay or vice versa. The pool bar was always manned during the day and was reasonably priced for ice creams. The drinks were a little steep compared with the prices in the bars but the service was excellent and Frankie made the kids holiday, generally messing about and being a really nice person. Around the pool there was a really relaxed atmosphere which made our holiday.
Again the little shop was filled with just enough to keep you going until you could get to the shops, but it was reasonable priced. The only thing to keep an eye on was the credit card system they use, no cash is taken on site, and everything is done on a card. The people in the resort are trustworthy, but you can spend more than you realise so beware.
The Loryma was a little bit out of the way which in one aspect was good, but as the food there was not great, we ended up spending 10 TL each way in taxis. Not really too expensive but adds up over the two weeks.
All round this was an excellent holiday and definitely a place that we would go back again too.

Submitted By: Mr D W ProutIt is not easy to self cater here the shop on site has a very limited choice and the cooking facilities were basic, but we never intended to do much cooking, we were on holiday. The restaurant on site served organic food grown on it's own farm and residents got there early so they could get the window seats for a fabulous view of the village, in spite of this the food was a little repetitive and didn’t reflect the real Turkish meals you can get in the village.
You must come to the Loryma to relax (they have there own therapist doing massage and alternative therapies) my wife had some treatment for her sinuses and found it excellent, you can book a whole week of treatments and many did.
Post school holidays we found there was always plenty of room by the pool again with a great vista of the village the pool bar staff were always friendly and if the weather was poor they have a indoor pool as well not that we needed it at 35 degrees every day, and in the evening we all went to the bar sat on large cushion or hammocks and drank cocktails served up by the ever cheerful Frankie who loved his job and the people he served, the entertainment was the other residents and we just talked about the great time we were having.
There was plenty to do if you wanted Sharon our rep was always on hand to advise us and didn’t complain when we told her of our latest trip whilst she was off duty talking to people at the bar. The Loryma has 2 staff doing organised trips such as mountain descending, sea kayaking, white-water rafting and jeep safari we did them all it was great fun.
Turunc itself had a water taxi to Marmaris running till 1.00am at the height of summer but only till 9.00pm whilst we were there again most of the people we spoke to said once was enough you can get fish and chips back home but there is cheap shopping if you can bear being hassled.
All in all we had a wonderful holiday and would not hesitate to return, but don't tell too many people!

Submitted By: Miss J TaylorBeing in the mountains there was a steep climb to the accommodation from anywhere in the resort, although there are apartments that are easier to get to, this is something that should be considered when planning a trip there as it was a difficult walk to the apartment especially in the heat.
However, the resort itself is beautiful and the scenery is stunning, especially from the pool. The apartment was clean and adequate for our purposes even though the view from the balcony was obstructed by the trees and the furniture could do with updating. However, I tend to just use the apartment as somewhere to sleep and shower so it was not a problem for me.
The staff were very friendly and helpful and all our requests were carried out quickly and with a smile.
The activities that can be arranged from the resort are plentiful so anyone would enjoy this resort, whether they want to just relax and do nothing or have an active adventure.
The best kept secret of the resort is the Ayurvedic unit, which I would recommend anyone to go to even for just one massage. We checked out the website (www.loryma.com) before we went and had been in touch with Dr Arora before leaving the UK and I would advise anyone planning on going to the resort to do the same and to consider having treatments at the unit. It added to our relaxation and enjoyment and the Drs and the staff at the unit were wonderful – a definite must if visiting this resort or the region!
The town of Turunc is a lovely town, a short taxi ride down the mountain, or if you are ready in time you can use the free transport from the hotel. The people are friendly and it is very peaceful, the main street is closed off to traffic at night so you can happily stroll up and down without worrying about cars. There are plenty of restaurants in Turunc, 3 that I would recommend are Habit (there are 2 – a restaurant and a cocktail bar – I only ate at the restaurant), Korfez and Cardak. If you are looking for gold and silver then I would recommend Elite Gold and Efendi Silver, but there are plenty of shops that you can visit and spend money!
I will definitely visit Loryma and Turunc again and would recommend it to anyone.

Submitted By: Mr P JonesAs Timeshare owners, you have to accept that the standard of accommodation varies from resort to resort and this particular accommodation was, in our view, exactly what we expected to get in Turkey.
We had a view to die for from our balcony though it did appear that some of the other rooms views might be obscured by the mature trees.
Our room was cleaned regularly (every two days) and the one problem that we reported (a patio door that wouldn't lock) was addressed within three hours.
All of the staff were as friendly and as helpful as you would expect them to be. Brilliant! We will be going back there!
" This resort was in a unique setting... "
Submitted By: Mrs G J KokborgThe location was fantastic with panoramic views but the resort did not live up to this and drastically needs some funds injecting into it to bring it up to standard.
Examples of things which marred our holiday:-
Our room should have had a fantastic view but trees had been allowed to grow completely obstructing the view.
Our TV was supposed to have sky channels and for the whole two weeks we could only get the 5 channels of the local Turkish terrestrial TV.
There was not any form of entertainment in the apartment - nowhere to play music.
The shelves were falling out of the wardrobes and although we reported this on the first day they were never repaired.
We had ants over running our apartment on two separate occasions, on one occasion they were in the beds and it took three days and many complaints before it was dealt with satisfactorily.
The rooms were cleaned regularly and thoroughly by friendly staff but one morning they called early to clean and some members of the family were still asleep so I asked for them to come back. We were told our room would be cleaned in the next two days but we had to ask for our room to be cleaned because it had gone 4 days without cleaning.
You have to use a resort credit card for any purchases and when we came to settle the bill we had been overcharged by 53 lira for food and drink which we had not had. This was rectified but could have been overlooked if we had not checked our balance.
All of the staff were very friendly and polite and very helpful but there was a lack of communication between staff.
We thought the resort of Turunc was just perfect but would not stay at the Loryma again because it is of an inferior standard to any other accommodation we have stayed in since being timeshare owners.

Submitted By: TheresaThorpWe walked the 1.5km(approx) downhill to Turunc bay everyday. It was a fairly steep walk with many hairpin bends! To be honest we always caught the Dolmus, cab or Loryma's tractor back to the apartment each evening. We haven’t got over how friendly the Turkish people were. We were picked up en route to the bay a number of times by a local taxi driver, who was going back to the taxi rank and he wouldn’t take any money!
We only ate the Loryma once as we like to get out and try new places. We didn’t have a bad meal the whole holiday and found the restaurant staff extremely friendly wherever we went. A particular favourite was the Bonkjuk (at the far end of town - Icmeler end) whose house salad was to die for. My husband doesn’t even eat salad but really enjoyed it! We went there three times and had a fantastic meal each time. If you go to Turunc you must try this one! We also liked the Han restaurant on a Thursday for the lamb in the oven (must book this the day before), Can restaurant for the food and John (the marathon runner) who loves everyone and is one of the loveliest guys I have met in a long time. We exchanged addresses with John and will keep in touch. The Cardak was also excellent and we went back their a number of times. The Arcade looks a bit cafe-like from the front but serves excellent food and has a lovely seating area around the side of the restaurant.
Go to the Yacht Club for a drink, there are lots of steps but a marvellous view. The ES restaurant also has great food and views, but has lots of steps and is a little more expensive. Forgot to print Jan’s recommendation to eat at the Yakomoz and couldn’t remember the name (sorry), however don’t remember seeing it on the main street of Turunc?
We met lots of holidaymakers who had been to Turunc many times before and they all raved about it. We were invited onto a private charter trips by some new friends and spend a lazy day visiting lots of bays, swimming and soaking up the rays. The weather was just right, in the early 30''s with a light breeze. Only downside I can think of was the number of wasp’s around the resort. Apparently, they are only at that of year and it is linked to the bee hives?
We didn’t do to much exploring as this was supposed to be a completely chill out type holiday. However, we did go to the Turunc and Marmaris market, went to Icmeler for the day and took a walk to Amos. We also took a day trip to Rhodes (I’ll come back to that!) The rest of the time was spent chilling out, drinking, eating and swimming - Perfect!
We have been to Rhodes in the past (17 years ago) and wanted to go back to see how much it had changed. However, although the old town was a lovely as we remembered it, the whole day was very long. We were out of the Loryma for 12.5 hours but only spent 4.5 hours in Rhodes. The rest of the time is taken up with travelling and customs. You have to go through Turkish customs when you leave, Greek customs when you arrive and the same again on the way back . Each one taking around an hour, so 4 hours out of your day!
Turunc is a delightful place, not too crowded, enough shops and restaurants, the friendliest people ever and an HSBC cash point! What more could you need. We had a fantastic holiday and would normally say that we don’t go back to places as there is too much of the world still to see. Turunc is going to be an exception and I can see us booking for next year very soon.
My review for Turunc would be 10/10, but the Loryma would probably be 7/10.

Submitted By: HW Jan.CThe first thing that hits you when you arrive here is the amazing views over the village of Turunc and the bays, Fantastic, well they will be as the resort is built into the side of a mountain and I honestly wouldn’t recommend this place for those with walking difficulties the hill up to our apartment was very steep and not a nice prospect in the heat of the day.
<br>
The rooms are basic but clean and tidy plenty of room in the 2 bedroom ones even with 5 of us in it. Air conditioning in only 1 room though.
<br>
The staff are very friendly and helpful specially Rosa in reception who organised a birthday cake for my hubby, The food was good but compared to the village prices very expensive for evening meal, It was cheaper for us to get a taxi into Turunc each night and eat there. The pool area was clean at all times but when it gets busy there are not enough sunbeds there are plenty of shaded areas.
<br>
Bar snacks are available at lunch times and again can be expensive, The place runs on a card payment system so there is no need to carry cash round, Do ask for a print out of your bill and check it carefully we had discrepancies as did lots of other people.
<br>
Now on to the kids, there is a small children’s play area and pool but we had 3 teenagers with us and the only things for them were pool table and table tennis, Nothing else at all apart from organised trips which again were chargeable.
<br><br>
We all did the all day boat trip and BBQ organised by the Loryma and had a fabulous day out great fun, We opted for a self catering option there is a shop on site but not at all adequate for self catering which means another taxi into Turunc, they do run a free train into the village but it only runs 3 times a day.. not nearly enough and stops at 6pm.
<br>
There are 2 bars at the Loryma both with stunning views over the bay and you always get a bit of a breeze in the evening which is nice after the very hot days.
<br>
On the whole a nice place to spend your holiday, not with teenagers in tow though, and this is the first year we have gone self catering we usually go all inclusive, I can honestly say that IF we had stayed at the Loryma Resort the 2 weeks and had all our meals there it would have been more expensive than all inclusive.
<br>
The resort of Turunc is fantastic if you like peace and quiet which we do, You can go into Icmeler and Marmaris very easily and cheaply, we went to Icmeler and compared to Turunc it was very busy and we got hassled at every bar and shop that we passed, not a bit hassled I may add, In Turunc a polite " No Thanks " does the trick, NOT the case in Icmeler, It drove me nuts, I was hot and getting very anti social by the time we returned to Turunc. It was like a breath of fresh air to get back to the small but hassle free resort.
<br>
I Love the Village of Turunc and would go back again for a holiday but not stay at the Loryma Resort. <br>

Advice: Quieter type of town, some beach area, need a car to explore, but good bus service. Friendly locals.
Activities: Mud bath - what a hoot! No bad restaurants, the local dishes are excellent.
