Anfora Apartments

no self catering equip, frigde mouldy no hot water, lose wires on lights and sockets bedding filthy all in all appartment from hell
will not be going back next year

Abismal! The person that said it was like Fawlty Towers was quite correct. I don't believe a single word from any of the reviews shown by Holidays 4 U 'customers' and strongly believe these have been deliberately added by Holidays 4 U staff to try and make the property look more respectable. Worst holiday I've ever had in my life and I can only say DON'T STAY HERE!! You've been warned.

oh my god, hotel anforna. it's the worst. rooms were small and shabby, there was no kettle we had to wait 3 for it and we were self catering .the hotellier was a stalker and very sleezy and violent . you couldnt use any of the facilties because his family were using them. but altinkum was a really nice place i loved it. the nightlife and the bars ar out of this world its wiked.do not wear fake eyelashes in altinkum.

reading the reviews on anfora hotel gave us some concerns but and we was write to be concerned . When we arrived early morning after a long journey through the night we were put in a very small room not a apartment which we had booked. We told that when the guests who were going home that day left there rooms we would be given another room which was at the top of the hotel it was a studio not apartment.the hotel manager was very off hand with us because we didn't want to eat at the hotel which he said we wasn't looking after the hotel by not spending money there. We had the same towels all week the room wasn't cleaned in all the time we was there We had to take our own rubbish down to reception where we were told by the manager to take it to the skip over the road. Plug sockets were hanging off the wall the whole place was very shabby. Two nights we had a power cut so we had to walk up eight flights of stairs with one candle which we were given at reception The anfora has been the worst accomodtion we have been in and the manager wasn't very pleasent at all therefore i would advice anyone not to stay there. We decided the accomodation wasn't going to spoil our holiday though so we spent most of the time enjoying altinkum .

The only way you could improve these apartments would be with a bulldozer, the twin room we got was disgusting there was used condoms still in one of the two broken toilets and you could still smell the sweat of the last unfortunates who stayed there off the beds. We did not spend a single night in this hellhole and found ourselfs (family 4) an apartment nearer dolphin sq. as the goldtrail rep. was as usefull as a wooden frying pan. The pool was green with what I presume to be algee,no one should ever be subjected to a fithy dirty hole like this regardless of there budget I would say that I would not keep cockroaches here never mind a dog. so be warned.

The Anofora is like a hotel you see on the programme holidays from hell..
The apartements wher that bad we only stayed in ther the 1st night we got ther and even then we never felt safe due to the door not locking properly and the shouting we heard coming from other guests.
The shower in the room was just a hole in the floor with a shower head you had to hold. All the decor in the room was very dated and very un clean. It was that bad my girlfriend sat up crying the hole night we were there.
The kitchen in the room looked like some one had jus thrown it in the corner the sink wasn't even attahced. There was various holes dotted about the room walls. Also the light switch's and electric plugs were hanging off the walls. But the icing on the cake was when we woke up on the morning and looked out of our balcony and there was a wall about 2 foot from our balacony about 7 storeys high. It made it alot harder for us to complain and ask for our room to be changed due to the fact that no one who worked in the hotel spoke a word of english, these apartments were that bad if goldtrail hadn't up graded our hotel we were gunna try get the next flight home.
I would never in a million years advise any one to go spend a holiday in this dirty, dingy and old fashioned hotel it was absolutley horrible and nearly ruined a very good holiday.

Brilliant holiday resort, the people r gr8 and the food is amazing, I became gud friends wif the workers at this resort and I had a gr8 time while I was here and it was mainly all down 2 them, they r gr8, u want a gud holiday and sumwhere u can go 2 hav a gud meal and a gud laff then book up now nd get yourself here!!!!!!!!! Believe me u wil hav the tym of ur life wen u****here best holiday I hav eva been on!!!!!!!!!

Just back from Anfora Apartments had a fantastic time.
The staff and management were so friendly and couldn't do enough for us. The apartments were basic, were cleaned every day and all you need for a holiday. The electricity went off but had nothing to do with apartments but the general supply for the area.
Met other families who also are looking to go back next year due to the friendly staff and the fantastic atmosphere.
Dolfin square: bars, restaurants and beach 10 min walk.
Thanks to every one at the Anfora for a fantastic holiday, look forward to seeing you all next year.

Welcome to the Anfora, but what a welcome, dirty floors, scruffy bedding and an apartment from hell.
Stayed in the Anfora in August 2007. After coming to Turkey previously we were looking forward to a relaxed holiday, how wrong could we be. After spending half a day cleaning the apartment and asking for basics such as cups and cutlery, our holiday finally began.
The hotel is run by a Scottish girl and the prices are very Scottish like 1.20 for an ice lolly which you could get for 40p across the road. Staff are abrupt and told my kids off which didn’t go down too well.
Altinkum as a place is great. Beware if you have teenage daughters the men can be pretty full on with them. We met the most amazing friends on holiday which lifted our spirits after such a let down at the Anfora.
Great places to eat are the Pemakule, Mercury, Narnia (opposite Big Nose Bar) and the dolphin square bar.
Great night out are the Big Nose Bar and Characters. Boat trips booked via the mercury are excellent. Not all apartments are the same don’t be put off, we looked around the Esra and it was very nice.

Welcome to the Turkish version of Fawlty Towers.
I and my partner arrived at the Anfora on 24th of August and here it began.
The towels were filthy when we arrived; the sink was falling off the wall, the shower head wouldn't stay up so you had to hold it over your head. The floors were filthy; the lift was always packing up.
Met some lovely families while stopping in the Anfora who also thought the same as us. A friend of mine arrived at the Anfora a week before me and when we went into her room 204, her bed was knocked together with nails and her balcony floor was covered in dust and not cleaned the whole time we were there.
1 family we met had a two bed apartment fair enough very spacious but there were holes in the wall with wires hanging out, same as our bathroom shower would not stop on the wall in both bathrooms.
Pool area was ok but pool was 6ft depth all the way and no food or drink bought outside the hotel was to be consumed, either in hotel or pool bar area ( even though it's a self catering hotel).
Altinkum itself is lovely great places to eat or drink are:

Narnia - great food
Big Nose Bar - Eric Billy and cheeky make your night
A good place to book your boat trips is at the mercury bar 5- for 5 islands cruise plus dinner or 12 for 5 island crush plus drinks don’t book through reps there more expensive look around you can always get the cheap than what the reps are selling for.
