Better than expected
from seeanything
This was the first stop on a 2 week vacation. We arrived after 2 days of travel and though the hotel is small with a tiny elevator and tiny service elevator, the bellman managed to deliver our 3 large bags to our room within minutes which we were very grateful for. We had a superior room, and though small, was very well done with a very comfortable bed. The location was great as it was away from the crowds yet close to restaurants and the sites. We typically don't go to restaurants the concierge recommends, however, we took her up on...

Deserves all the praise
from ilpostino
Returning to La Perouse after 5 years we were not sure quite what to expect but could not have been happier with our 3 night stay. We were only on the third floor but our room was clean and comfortable and the bathroom well equipped. Big favourites were the beautiful bathrobes. And then of course there are the views. Even on the third floor there are rooms with stunning views across the Baie and we could also see down to the courtyard and the lovely pool. Clearly the higher you can afford to go the better the view, and no doubt the larger...

Best view in Nice!
from A TripAdvisor Member
Wow! Request room #410 for the best view in Nice! It's a corner double & is on the 10th (top) floor overlooking the blue Mediterranen & the entire sunny crescent beach all the way down the promenade. Each room facing the beach has a tiny terrace with chair & table for 2. Pool is nice too. We didn't dine here since it's a little pricey, but the outdoor restaurant looked nice. There are plenty of dining options in the adjacent Old Town a few blocks away. If view is important to you, this is the place to stay! We paid 185 Euros in July...

One of the best hotels we've stayed at
from Cindy_49
We couldn't have chosen a better hotel in Nice. Right across the street from the Azur Sea, this small hotel was immaculate, the service truly exceptional and the staff were extremely accommodating. We loved fresh fruit being delivered to our room, along with clean bath robes and Evian water. It is worth paying for a sea view room. You overlook the pool, courtyard with lemon trees and the sea. The hotel is located right beside Vieux Nice which is convenient for early farmer market shopping for fresh fruit, vegetables and bakery items.<br...

Best hotel in Nice!
from Vickie
My husband and I spent 3 nights at this hotel in June 2005. We had a deluxe seaview room which had a large terrace with a spectacular view (room 504). If we go back to Nice, we'll definitely stay at Hotel La Perouse and in the same room. The location of the hotel is perfect. It's a 5 minute walk to Old Nice, which is a maze of cute little streets with restaurants and shops. We loved strolling through Old Nice. The newer part of Nice is just a 10-15 minute walk. The breakfast is set up outside in a very nice little courtyard. We looked...

An oasis of calm
from A TripAdvisor Member
We've stayed at La Perouse 6 times over the past 5 years and have (obviously!) always found it worth returning. Okay, there are drawbacks, but they are few. ( Mad rules regarding tablecloths and menus!! e.g. You can only order certain things from certain tables. Ignore it.) There are a number of things that make La Perouse a regular choice for us. 1. Complete calm. Upon stepping off the noisy street there is an amazing transformation from manic motorbikes to a serene quiet. Not sure how it works but it does! 2. The shady terrace...

Very disappointed in La Perouse
from A TripAdvisor Member
We stayed at Le Perouse for one night, having looked forward to it immensely from reading all the reviews. It really sounded like a great find. We booked a Standard Superior room which was given a description of "garden view or view of the rock". This was not the cheapest category and we presumed the room would be small as many of the reviewers have already reported but would have a pretty view. This was pretty much why we booked the hotel as it was for a romantic get-away. We were given room 114. It was on the first floor but was actually...

We'll Be Back.....Stunning Views, Fabulous Room....
from A TripAdvisor Member
I read a few "dodgy" and some great reviews here before we went to stay and it's obviously a case of "if the cap fits" - we stayed on a "honeymoon package" which wasn't cheap, but was well worth it. We had a fantastic room, panoramic views of the Baie d'Anges. The staff were brilliant and extremely helpful (if a little embarrassed when serving our breakfasts - it just added to the fun of the place), the lunches were simple but very well prepared and served (best club sandwich I ever had). Dining under the lemon trees was fanstatic - and...

Great location, average Hotel
from teedee1198
The Hotel is rated 4 star but I would question why. Our stay was good without any problems. The location of the hotel is perfect, being close to the old town and the harbor with great views. The rooms were very ordinary and the bed very hard and uncomfortable. The bathroom was very nice and new. So overall, nice hotel, nothing exceptional, good service, we were happy but nothing earth shattering....
Charming!
from KarenAA
We just happened upon this little hotel during our honeymoon in Oct, 1980. When the maid unlocked the door to the dark little room with two small twin beds, we weren't thrilled. Then she parted the drapes which lit up the charming room and opened the french doors to a private terrace with a magnificant vew! Ah, those beautiful days and romantic nights! We still talk about it and hope to return someday.

This is a lovely hotel in a superb location - minutes from the old town and the seafront, but high enough not to suffer from traffic and street noise. We had a sea view room, beautifully decorated in restful colours and with a stunning bathroom - I wish I could have... more
