From reading the reviews from this site, I actually wanted to change my hotel before I came! Most of the reviews had been bad, so I actually was not looking forward to going to this hotel.

But once I got there, my opinions changed totally! What a lovely hotel, so much space and the rooms are lovely, we had a room which was looking onto the main pool with patio doors and we could walk straight onto the pool.

Food was lovely, I’m a really fussy eater but it was to my taste. I couldn’t fault it at all.

I would definitely recommend going to the Hard Rock Cafe in Naama Bay- lovely and very cheap, me and boyfriend had 2 starters, 2 mains, 2 desserts and drinks- that came to £13!

People are so friendly- easy to talk to, the hotel is mainly British but everyone just makes conversation.

Beach is lovely, definitely try scuba diving!

Overall I would definitely go back to Egypt, I’m going back in July but staying in the Sister hotel Three Corners Kiroseiz, it's got a lot of competition!

Travel City Direct do great deals to Egypt- well recommended!

My friend and I 2 girls aged 25/26 and booked this as a cheap deal with the Hotel as a base where we could relax as we wanted to see the sea and sights of Sharm El Sheik. We had read the reviews on this site before our holiday and went with an open mind.

The place 10/10

Sharm is an amazing place if you are into snorkeling and exploring different places. Sharks Bay and Naama Beach are fantastic as are the Red Sea cruises and we did the introduction to Scuba Diving which is one the best things I have ever done in my life. We probably attracted a lot of attention being 2 young (ish!) girls on our own but we found the Egyptian people are friendly and keen to talk to English people. We ate out in Naama Bay three nights and the food and service was great. Def recommend the Hard Rock Café and a restaurant on the main strip called Tomato’s.

The accomodation 03/10

Hmm. I’ll start with the good points.

The last 3 hotels I have been to have been 5 star all inc’s in Turkey and Egypt so I have been spoilt anyway and perhaps expected too much of a 4 star Hotel.

Firstly, the majority of the staff were lovely and went out of their way to be friendly to us with the odd exception – usually the supervisors to be fair.

The hotel was reasonably clean although it was hard to believe it had just opened last year as it was certainly not immaculate.

The room was large and spacious with good air con. We had a balcony overlooking the pool and bar which was never noisy. However we did note that half the hotel was overlooking the main road and we wouldn’t have liked that at all. There were 2 pools (with a third little pool being tiled as we were there). We stayed around the quieter/smaller pool as there were a lot of kids in the main pool which was the one with the swim up bar. The pool guys were helpful with finding sun beds and putting umbrellas up etc.

The location was ok, £3 in a taxi to Naama Bay or a free bus service but the bus was full quickly so you were lucky if you got a seat. There isn’t much in the close proximity to the Hotel which is a shame as it’s nice sometimes to just have a wonder after meals.

Not so good points

Food – Breakfast was good as you could have a freshly cooked omlette or pancakes. Lunch was ok if you like burger / pizza / hotdog and chips or pasta everyday. The main meals were bland, repetitive, unappetizing and boring hence us choosing to eat out the last three nights of the holiday. We practically lived on pasta and chips.

Sickness – Everyone we spoke to had been poorly at some part of the stay. I had sickness and diarrhea on our third day which passed after several diacalms. I initially put this down to too much sun and red wine the night before but my friend was ill 2 days later. She went to see the Dr in the clinic who said she had a stomach infection and charged her £2 for antibiotics and paracetamol although I know some people paid much more (again I think being young female worked to our advantage). If you are going to this Hotel – be prepared and take stuff with you. We did not know what caused it exactly but after being ill neither of us could face the hotel food again.

Hotel Beach - Man made, felt muddy on the feet when in the sea.... cooler than the pool though and a few fish to look at. Music on the beach too loud. Go to Naama Beach or Sharks Bay instead - beautiful.

Entertainment – Put it this way – no entertainment was better than the hotel entertainment. The Animation Team were nice but the shows they put on were embarrassing. We sat playing cards at the bar on our 2nd night as it was better than the ‘show’ being put on.

Insects – You will be bitten so take anti bite and Savlon cream!

Overall

Apart from the illnesses, we had a fantastic holiday overall. I would heed the advice in this site and go prepared. As long as you are willing to leave the complex you will have a great time and see the real Sharm. I will be returning but definitely not to this Hotel.

Just got back yesterday 29/06/2006 and had a really good time. The hotel was amazing and I could not believe the bad reviews. The rooms were massive we had a king size and 3/4 bed. The hotel was mainly British and very friendly.

The drinks sizes aren't very big but if you have enough it should do the job. The food was ok, I lived of pasta which was really nice. My boyfriend tried other things and said they were ok. Their is a lot of cakes, salad and fruit so you have got a choice.

I would recommend Naama bay it should cost no more than 40 Egyptian pound (£4) to get there. Also try Hard rock cafe. We had two starters and main courses for £18 and the meals were huge.

If getting a taxi from airport to St George pay no more than £20 it should really cost £10 but if you’re not in the mood after your flight to barter then just take it. It is also true about the guys who carry your luggage then expect a tip for it.

The staff are A* and will go out of their way to help you whatever the problem. Cleaners are fantastic they work really hard also.

The hotel run a bus to the private beach and to Naama bay but only at certain times of the day and be prepared to fight for a seat on the way back; never get the last coach back! If you do get ill do not go to the clinic in the hotel, as the doctor charges £135 just to see him then whatever further for your treatment. This one couple made the mistake of going to the clinic paying all that money and a family of four went to the pharmacy next door and treated them all for £20. Hope you have a good time if you go we did.

Hotel was lovely rooms were very clean, well furnished and our bed was huge. The air con system was great which is what we needed in 50 degrees!

Pools were great. Jacuzzi isn't the most powerful but still very nice to cool off. The food was ok sometimes it was great other nights it wasn't but I think that was down to our personal taste there was never anything wrong with the food. Really for what we paid it was better than expected. We did miss the novelty of ordering what we wanted. We ate out a few times, hard rock cafe is very good and very cheap.

The drinks were good first all inclusive holiday where the wine has been nice so impressed at that, we have been on a few. The measures were ok too got us drunk anyway! We were ill I went to the doctor sorted me out straight away I don't believe this is any reflection on the hotel I think its just the country.

Entertainment wasn't great but seemed to improve as a new team stated while we were there. They could do with a bar with music just to create more of an atmosphere.

Excursions the rep rips you off like you wouldn't believe! We saved nearly £200 by booked through the independent people at the hotel, sit outside the bank, and all the tours were amazing. You can save even more booking in Naama bay but we didn't want to take this risk encase anything went wrong we found it more reassuring that they were in our hotel. Staff are great will do anything for you too enjoy your stay.

At the price we paid I would go again it is very good value for money but I wouldn't pay much more. Some people seem to moan about the little things at the end of the day the price reflects what you get so if you expect more it quite simple don't go for such a cheap deal!

I came back last week after a fortnight with 2 other friends at the Three Corners.

Overall, it wasn't bad. The hotel was spotless, and the staff can't do enough for you. Really friendly, and the chaps behind the bar are great characters!

The food was reasonable, but be warned - there were a number of issues that kind of put you off. All 3 of us that went suffered from stomach trouble big time during the second week. We had to pay 2 visits to the local chemist to get it sorted.

There was also an issue with some fellow guests regards some un-cooked chicken (red in the middle - say no more).

Some of the food is a bit repetitive, and it got to our last night and we took the decision to go to Naama Bay for some decent variation.

The level of service to other things like the beach is good. The hotel lay on a courtesy bus to here, Naama Bay and the Old Market.

The rooms were cleaned once a day, but the staff were a bit tight on the bog roll - not good when you have a dodgy stomach!

Other facilities at the hotel were OK. Having said that, a fellow guest bought an alleged silver ring from the in-house jewelers that promptly fell to bits within 3 days!

Would we go back? Probably not. The fact we went down with illness is one thing, and the fact that the evening entertainment is wonderful is another. The animation team try hard, but when you see the daily aqua fit in the pool ending up in a disorganised sham, and when the geezer who organizes bingo calls the number 35 as 53 kind of gives the game away!

One final point - if you get delayed at Sharm-El-Sheikh airport then be prepared for total chaos! We sat for 3 hours on a marble floor as there were no seats, and my back hasn't been the same since!

Again can't believe all the negative things said about this hotel, me and my fiancé had the most wonderful fortnight here and can't wait to come back!

Hotel and rooms are spotless, staff are amazing (so friendly and will bend over backwards for you) hotel food and drink is not first class but what do you expect? You would certainly struggle to starve! We are in our early twenties and although Naama Bay isn't as buzzing as you would think there are still plenty of bars and restaurants to go to.

We also took the day trip to Cairo which was amazing, went to the water park and also did the quad bike BBQ which had to be one of the highlights of the fortnight. I would recommend that to anyone.

As for all this about upset stomachs, yes I did suffer badly but so did many people we spoke to and believe me it is not contained to just this hotel (we spoke to many people on our excursions from different hotels who were also suffering it).

It is rife wherever you stay in Egypt and is not fair to suggest that it is specific to the food and drink at the St. George. If you do get it my advice is to take a trip to Dr Ahmed's pharmacy and pick yourself up some pills from him (£9), they do the trick.

All in all a fabulous holiday and will certainly be back in the near future.

I have just come back from Sharm El Sheikh and had a wonderful time. The acommodation and food was fab the people lovely the weather amazing. The desert at night was an experience I feel honored to have done as the Bedouin people who looked after our party were very hospitable and interesting to meet.

The beach was very nice although you had to wear beach shoes as the coral hurt your feet. I went in to Namma bay every night and the camel bar and Kan Lamours Bar had fab food and reasobale costing drinks. On the whole I had a fantastic and relaxing holiday. I would definitley go back.

I feel Alice did a great injustice to the area. The Egyption people did thier very best to make you feel safe with the heightened security. Even our own Country has hot spots for terrorism.

Once again it has to be a 10/10 (although my last review isn’t on here anymore)

What can I say? This was my second stay at Saint George this year, how can people give it such bad remarks??? Shame on you!

Ok I was one of the first guests there it had only been open for 4 days on my first stay so there is going to be some teething problems, but I can honestly say that if has improved 10 fold, even though I didn’t have any problems before.

The staff are all fantastic as they were before and all deserve medals for putting up with ungrateful guests, what do people expect? Everyone will put themselves out for you, all you have to do is ask!

As I had been there before Almost all of the staff knew me, and our (my sister was with me) every need was catered for, we were well looked after and thoroughly spoilt!

I wont name any names, but you all know who you are and all deserve stars for the amount of effort you put into making sure your guests are well looked after.

Keep up the good work guys, and as for the bad reviews, try again....

All in all this is a lovely hotel.

ROOMS: Very nicely laid out, large and spacious. I traveled to Sharm with my partner and we were given a large room with a King size bed plus a single bed and also a large sofa. The rooms are cleaned to a very high standard every day.

POOL: There are two pool areas both of which are really nice, plenty of beds and also a free towel service so no need to take beach towels with you. The pool areas are also kept spotlessly clean.

STAFF: All staff are male. In fact, we only saw a few women during the whole of our weeks stay. Most of the staff are really friendly and always happy to help, however I did find that a few of them were a bit sleazy with the women which made me feel a little uncomfortable.

FOOD: The food seemed really tasty for the first few days, plenty of selection most of the time but I did suffer from an upset tummy and spent a whole day in bed. Cant say this was definitely from the hotel food as we ate out in Naama Bay a few nights.

LOCATION: This is the main downfall of the hotel, it's not really within walking distance of anything. Naama Bay is around a 15 mins drive away and Sharm town around 10 mins. However, there is free shuttle service to Naama Bay each night.

ENTERTAINMENT: Another downfall of the hotel. This was non existent. There is a board in the reception area detailing shows that were meant to take place throughout the week however, I don't think any of these actually went ahead. In the evening everyone gathers in the lobby area where there is a pool table but no music or any entertainment. There is no atmosphere!

BEACH: The Saint George has it's own private beach which is around 10 mins away from the hotel, there a free shuttle bus every hour to the beach. The beach is also all inclusive, serving snacks such as burgers, chips and salads. The sea is crystal clear but can’t say I seen many fish at the beach. Plenty of sun beds and once again a free towel service.

WEATHER: What can I say - GLORIOUS! Temperatures of up to 48 degrees some days and I hardly seen a cloud in the sky!

NAAMA BAY: This is the lively part of Sharm, lots of restaurants and shops. My partner and I are both in our early 20's and to be honest didn't really find a lot to do here, there are not many lively pubs, the Hard Rock Cafe is about the best bar but drinks are quite pricey. BEWARE in Naama Bay as you leave the bus there are lots of shopkeepers asking you to accept their business cards, if you agree they then take you into their shop and more or less force their products onto you becoming quite angry if you do not want to buy. One man even stood in the doorway of the shop blocking our way out. I must say I didn't really feel safe in Naama Bay and wouldn't even have ventured down there if I'd been in a group of girls as once again the Egyptian men are really sleazy.

AIRPORT: In the process of expansion and modernisation and not before time. It's quite small and the duty free shops are not the same as other airports. You will not find British brands of cigarettes etc so if you wish to purchase these ensure you do so on the way out.

My partner and I stayed in the hotel for a week on the all inclusive basis.

On first impressions the hotel is clean and welcoming with very friendly staff and a good level of service, the staff maintained this level of service throughout our stay, and there was a number of occasions when we needed things fixing, i.e. the air con and shower the reception staff were always happy to help and the problems were sorted quickly.

The pools are nice and are the bars that serve them, however the pool and the bars can get very busy and during the evening it can take time to get a drink.

There is also the lobby bar which also gets very busy during the evening and the bar resembling a scrum at last orders. Towards the end of our week the staff implemented a system of only be able to get one drink per person at a time at the bar which proved unpopular especially amongst lager groups and like us as we made friends with a few couples and it made getting a drink more hassle. The bar becomes quite expensive after the all inclusive finishes at midnight, about £2.50 a drink.

The beer and the spirits are OK, not sure about their alcoholic content as you could drink it by the gallon and still feel sober. The measures are a bit hit and miss to depending on who serves you at the bar.

The food was good, not amazing by any stretch of the imagination and don't expect traditional Egyptian cuisine because you won't get it, what you will get however is a large selection of meats and veg with an option of pasta freshly warmed in front of you.

We spent most days at the beach and had our lunch there, this was usually chips with burgers or salad. The beach is served by the hotel bus, which does get busy and hot. The snorkeling is amazing and you only need to swim or walk around five minutes round the corner from the beach to see amazing corals and thousands of fish. There is a chap who organizes trips from the beach next to the hotel beach, he is friendly and reliable and we had two good trips with him.

The old market and Naama bay are a bit of a nightmare, so much hassle from the shopkeepers.

Overall I was pleased with the holiday especially given the relatively small amount it cost.

It is hard to understand why negative comments have been left. The hotel is very clean, the cleaners spend almost an hour in each bedroom, if you want a holiday where you are waited on then this is it. The pool boys are great, laying towels out on your sun bed, the bar staff are very friendly, alcoholic drinks are just what you'd expect being abroad.

The food was excellent for an all inclusive, but the Chez Pascal restaurant, especially the fish platter was delicious! I noted comments about people having bad stomachs, this is nothing to do with the standards of the food or the way the glasses are washed, it is most likely to be due to the heat, and eating and drinking different things to what you would normally at home.

The only down side were the entertainment team 'animation' they did not know how to entertain the English guests, and seemed very unorganized.

There is not much to do in Egypt, you will be hassled constantly if you go into Naama bay or old Sharm, the thing that shocked me the most about Sharm el sheik is that there is nothing Egyptian about it, there is no culture except if you do the trip to Cairo. I personally would not go back to Egypt as I prefer having somewhere to walk, there is no where to walk, no supermarkets nothing unless you go into the main very busy shopping areas.

I am amazed at some of the negative reviews, we must have had a lucky escape! I only use Sharm for Scuba Diving - it’s nice to do my courses in the warmth of the Red Sea. I thought the food was okay, it’s not the Ritz but edible. The wine was drinkable as well. I HATE the airport, the useless baggage claim and lazy ignorant 'customs' men busy doing nothing, plus the rip-off prices for the 'visa'.

I always try to book my own transport - get a taxi and avoid the going-home queues. Also if you are going anywhere or doing dive courses book them from the UK as they have now introduced a 'tax', yes yet another sting-the-tourist rip-off. Basically I find most of the inhabitants lazy and always ready to rip you off - look for staff with a little cross on their right hand by the thumb - these are Christian Egyptians and tend to give the best service and prices.

Don't expect much and you will not be disappointed, remember Sharm is not a real place its only set up for tourists, Egypt is somewhere else called The Third World. Try to learn a few words like thank you and no thank you. Don’t take any valuables. We booked the flights and hotel via On The Beach and got exactly what we expected for the money. If I owned Sharm and Hell I think I would rent out Sharm and live in Hell, but its good for a weeks diving!

You will have no problems with this hotel. If I am honest I wouldn’t return to Egypt but that has nothing to do with the hotel but more to do with the hassle you get in the town.

The hotel staff are Excellent, also if you have any problems they are sorted out. we changed rooms and that was no problem for them.

The reason I am putting this post on is whilst we were there a lot of people suffered from a sickness bug (nice way to put spending all day on the loo!) I was one of these and suffered it for days, I don’t believe this had anything to do with the food more just change of environment. I don’t want other posts to give a bad review just because of this.

I saw our rep and she recommended a drug from the pharmacy (just up the road, near the go cart track) it is called Antinal, this sorted me out almost straight away, so please don’t suffer, also drink the aniseed tea as this helps to.

On a final note if you are going with Thompson, Natalie the rep is very experienced and will help you out, she is probably one of the best reps you will ever deal with.

My partner and I had a fantastic holiday at the St George Three Corners. I admit that we were more than a little apprehensive after reading some of the reviews on this website. The St George may have had some teething problems during the first months and maybe that’s why people were so negative, if that was the case they have certainly been ironed out.

Our room was lovely, it was quiet, cool and always clean. It didn't have the best view but we didn't spend any time in it anyway, there was too much to do.

The staff were amazing, especially Ahmed and Bowles at the lively pool. All the staff were particularly helpful and talkative, though it was a little strange not having any women around. The manager was very friendly and always asking your opinion, and as to what he could do to make your stay better.

The food in the hotel was to a good standard there was a huge selection to choose from everyday, it was always hot and tasty. You’ll be in your element if you like deserts. We were there for two weeks so it did get a little repetitive for me as I'm not so adventurous. We ate out in Naama bay couple of times, and also in the hotel Al a carte. We found the service at Chez Pascal to be lacking, but the food was very good and if you're prepared to wait it's worth it.

As for the beach, well you luck holidayers that go from now on have the choice of two. The new beach is the beach that the hotel runs a shuttle to, it runs every hour and usually the bus is quite busy, however on the couple of occasions that there were too many people to fit in, the bus driver was more than happy to return for the rest. It takes about 10mins, and really is no problem at all, we found it quite a nice opportunity to meet people staying at the hotel. The beach itself is very nice, with lots of beds and umbrellas, an immaculate pool bar that serves salads, sandwiches, burgers etc. It's quite a nice change from the hotel lunch. The beach is normally quite peaceful apart from a Saturday when there is a beach party, which is great!! The sea is really calm and clear, for those of you wanting to see sea life the other beach is far better.

The second beach is at St George's sister hotel Kirosiev, to get here you need to get a taxi (make sure to ask for beach, not hotel) it's about 15 EP. It's not your typical sandy stretch, it's set out in a series of levels with lots of beds. You can't walk out in the sea here as the coral is harsh on your feet, but there is a jetty that runs out to coral edge. Here you can jump in a swim, it is very deep but calm. The beech is absolutely amazing for snorkeling and well worth the trip. Your all inclusive works at this beech as well, and there is a pool bar and restaurant that has a huge selection at lunch time.

As for the trips you can go on, we went to Cairo (£130) on quad safari (£20) and to Ras Mohammed snorkeling (20). We booked our trips with the guy in reception and got them at a considerable discount compared to the tour companies. The trips were exactly the same as the tour companies we even had the same flight and guide to Cairo and boat to Ras Mohammed. The guy is really helpful and barters a little too.

I don't think there's anything I've forgot. Just remember to relax and have fun when your there, then you've nothing to worry about.

Happy Holidays!

Don’t read any further, this is a fantastic place to stay. My wife and I were out there for 7 days over April and May 06, the best holiday yet, in fact so good we are going to return in September.

The resort has its own private beach which is only a 5 min free bus ride away which in its self was not that good due to it had only been open 1 day so we used the sister hotels beach (Kirosez beach) which we had to get a taxi to although this cost around £2 - £3. On the beach you still get the benefit of your all inclusive as there is a restaurant there.

The snorkeling there is amazing, I recommend you purchase a underwater camera from the on beach store. St Georges hotel is a superb place to stay if you like fun and family life, I was told that the sister hotel is for the stuck up folk out there so if you prefer to read your times and novels then don’t go to a family resort like St George as this is a fun filled place with down to earth English food, I am a fussy eater abroad and to my surprise I found something every day here.

I recommend pushing the boat out and making use of the chez restaurant on site, its not part of the all inc but all the same we met 3 couples there and we all ate together in the chez as a last supper thing which totaled to £45 for 8 of us, we had steak which was better than you would get back home. It was my wife’s birthday when we was there and to our surprise we found a birthday cake in our room one evening, this was a very nice gesture, the staff there are fantastically friendly.

Very day our room was cleaned to the highest standard you would require, we used to go to our room to find our towels had been made in to shapes of flowers and fans and ducks like origami with towels, all in all our stay was the best. The only down fall to our stay was the tour rep, (Craig) he was useless and didn’t care much about anybody, but that’s nothing to do with the hotel.
