Jan 2007, Miss M Peal

I travelled in a party of four and were very surprised after reading many dubious comments.
The hotel is very nice, staff are extremely friendly, the rooms are fab, really big and spacious and very clean as are the bathrooms (Much better than the Hilton Dreams we stayed at after our flight was delayed).
The pool is nice, there is a heated part which is lovely! The food is fine, breakfast is definitely the best, plenty of pastries, fruit, cereals and fried (although not typically English...but it is a Muslim country!)
Lunch and dinner are also good, similar to what is served at the Hilton. There is always rice, pasta, chips, some sort of potato dish and vegetables. Try not to have everything on one night, that's how the food gets repetitive, you will find that the people that moan are those that have chicken, rice, chips, veg, salad and then a pasta dish!
However, if you do get fed up restaurants in Egypt are very cheap.
Don't expect to find all inclusive like the Caribbean, you wont go hungry but it isn't constant food. Also forget the remarks about food making people ill. I ate everything and was totally fine.
However, others in my party did have a bit of a poorly tummy but nothing that stopped them enjoying their holiday. This could be from anything though!
The pool is nice, and the beauty salon fab!
If you get the chance do go snorkeling, I'm a pretty rubbish swimmer but it was still excellent we saw turtles, sting rays, rainbow fish it was amazing. We booked with the guy off the beach and it cost £17 for a full day including lunch!
The entertainment is the only downside, it's just not that entertaining!
The hotel is extremely good value for money, I probably wouldn't go back as I don't like to return to the same place twice.

Returned from St Georges in early Dec...

Jan 2007, Mr A Platt

Returned from St Georges in early Dec after a rather enjoyable week in the sun.
I could go on about what was right and wrong about he resort and the hotel but I suggest you have a try for yourself. A few tips though
* Remember where you are going... It's not Blackpool.
* Remember how much you are paying...It's dearer in Blackpool.
* Take in consideration the heat by day and the coolness by night in Dec
* Forget any star ratings Hotels or Travel Companies give out and do your research yourself.
* Be open minded to local customs and cultures...as you do in Blackpool.
* Don't listen to hotel gossip try things for yourself.
Would I go back? probably not - but we never return to the same resort anyway.
Would I recommend St Georges? For the price, absolutely yes.
Do I have any regrets? - Not going on the quad bike ride (upset tummy that day).
Go on have a good holiday but be open minded
Regards
The Platts... Happy New Year
PS.Yes - I have stayed in Blackpool, so I know.

I would have given this place 0 but I...
1 / 10
Dec 2006, Mrs S Ackerman

I would have given this place 0 but I couldn't! Where to start.
Lets start with the room. This is supposed to be a 4* hotel and we went all inclusive. Your room is just a bed, TV and shower...that's it. No iron, kettle, hairdryer or anything else that you would expect in a 4* hotel.
The beds were ok, clean and tidy but the shower was disgusting. Dirty with hair everywhere. The toilet leaked and the toilet brush was vile and looked like it had been there for years.
Oh and the Internet advised that the rooms all have a pool or garden view. Ours overlooked a main road and our friends overlooked a water treatment plant! Nice!
The food was awful as well. Just the same old crap served everyday. Not the international cuisine. My husband and I ate out 3 nights in Naama Bay ( TGI's is the best place to eat in town, cheap and really good quality food).
If we did have lunch/dinner, we would normally have just soup or a sandwich. Please note that we are not the beer and chips brigade. I would be ashamed to serve this to my dog! It was that bad and it is NOT a restaurant. You are not shown to your seat and asked if you require a drink from the bar. You just find a table and scramble to the food.
It reminded me of a school cafeteria. There were flies everywhere and food was just left without cover. Oh and make sure you plate is finished with, coz if you leave it for one second, someone will collect it!
The only good thing about the food is that it is so unappetising, you wont actually want to eat so therefore may lose some weight! haha, combine this with the sickness and diarrhea means you may lose a couple of pounds!
Which leads me onto the illness. We were both ill. My husband was really ill. Soaring temperature and shivers. Thus spending all day Saturday in bed...the next day I was ill.
After a couple of paracetamols and some diacalm we seemed to be ok. Our temperature went down and we felt ok but the constant diarrhea remained. Which posed a problem in our room as the toilet leaked!
To sum this place up. My warning would be not to go there. Pay extra to stay somewhere nicer like the Hilton in Sharks Bay, (our flight was delayed and this is where we were put).
Never ever again!

9 / 10
Dec 2006, Mr J Hunt

Our party of 4 adults has just returned from The Three Corners St George resort and felt compelled to try and dispel some of the negative comments about the place. We are very well travelled and are prepared to give most things a go preferring to make up our own minds about our own holiday experiences.
The holiday was a last minute decision and in fairness was driven by price, so our expectations were not necessarily that high. We thoroughly enjoyed our weeks stay and found the accommodation staff and service to be excellent.
Food was of a good standard with plenty of fresh veg and fruit accompanied by local and international cuisine. Plenty of variety given that catering is designed to cover a wide range of tastes. A few people we spoke to did complain about the food, but to be honest they were the pizza and chips brigade, who also complained that you couldn't get British beer by the pint on draught etc.
For goodness sake why bother to go somewhere like Egypt if all you want is what you have back home. Am I missing something or is that not defeating the object. Most people we spoke to were very complimentary about the standard of the food.
Outside the hotel the beaches linked to the two three corners hotels are available and accessible by free shuttle bus. We had no problems getting on any of the free buses, but it may have been quieter on our visit than at peak times. Snorkelling is fantastic and is a must.
Naama bay is worth a visit as is Old Sharm if only to say you have been. Although I do concur with others when they talk about being hassled a bit. It’s all good natured stuff and to a point very entertaining, however it does get a bit wearing after a while.
I would highly recommend the Quad bike sunset trip into the desert. Age is no barrier and if you have a sense of fun you will have a fantastic time. Shop around for trips. You will pay through the nose if you buy from the holiday companies for exactly the same trips that you can book for half the price if you take a little time to research it.
Upset tummies are the norm for Egypt and speaking with lots of other people from other hotels confirmed this so please, don’t put this problem down to this individual hotel.
The only negative thing we found about this hotel is its location. If you want to be within walking distance of everything then this hotel will not be for you. To get anywhere you need to take the free shuttle bus or be prepared to pay a ridiculously low fare for a taxi which most people found to be an experience in itself. (No need to visit a theme park to get a white knuckle ride in Sharm!)
So to sum up if you want a good value, well maintained and friendly place to stay in Sharm look no further than The Three Corners St George.

First all Inclusive holiday my...

Nov 2006, Miss Joanna Smelt

First all Inclusive holiday my boyfriend and I have been on and we were more than happy.
The hotel was always clean, the staff were helpful and the food was good. Must agree it did get a bit repetitive but was nice either way.
The shuttle bus run to the beach and back was good but not always as per the schedule provided so make sure to ask at reception when the next one is due.
We definitely would go back especially to see Ahmed aka. Fapiano who was brilliant!!
We also met some lovely people there, some of whom had travelled on their own and felt very happy with their welcome at the hotel.

The only saving grace in this place...
2 / 10
Nov 2006, sheilao6

The only saving grace in this place is the sun. The food is absolutely diabolical and after being there for only one day I suffered food poisoning. My three children all suffered illness as did my partner. The hygiene leaves alot to be desired. I saw canteen staff pick up cutlery from the floor and put it back on desserts. The food has no flavour and is always covered in flies. Some of the serving staff do not where gloves to serve.
The room staff are a joke also. I had to ask after three days of being them for them to actually clean the bathroom as all that were done was a towel change. Almost every other British person that I spoke to had all been sick and frequent visits were made to the pharmacist next door, whom I was on first name terms with.
This hotel should never be advertised as a 4* and it just scrapes by as a 3* in my estimation.
The kids club is almost none existent. One lady for the kids disco has 6 - 7 songs played with dances and that is it. The final kids disco for my children, consisted of Superman, Agadoo and The hokekokee and that’s what it was all about.

Oct 2006, Mr C Whiting

After reading the reviews on here we were quite worried about this hotel and even thought about changing it. What a mistake that would have been. The hotel turned out to be fantastic.
It was clean, the staff were friendly and the rooms were huge. We had so much fun we have already booked for next year.
Please don't hesitate to book this hotel and make your own mind up. I'm glad we did.

Oct 2006, Miss N Miles

We went to this hotel last week and although it states 4 * I would say it is only a good 3* food was bland but nice the staff apart from the odd few where very polite and couldn’t help you enough. There are a few small issues one being the steps are very, very slippery coming from the dining room, and two the men in the animation team were full on with the ladies a bit intimidating at times but if you tell them no after a couple of times they leave you alone. The girls in the animation team are fantastic and very, very good with the kids.
Egypt is a very nice place for your holiday and we are going again next year. There is a couple of things you need to be careful of 1 is when you get off the plane they tell you to buy a visa this you don’t need unless snorkeling or traveling to the pyramids they will tell you, you have to but you don’t and 2 they want to hold your suitcases don’t as soon as they have your case its a fiver! It cost us 50 pound before we even started our holiday. Also the hotel shops are very expensive go down to old Sharm its beautiful full of Egyptian people a real eye opener but don’t be scared there really lovely and if you don’t want anything just say no! They don’t bother you too much.
Over all we had a lovely holiday and the kids really liked it .one trip I would recommend you do is a night with the Bedouins fantastic! You ride a camel watch the sunset go down and the shooting stars are amazing. Well that’s all I have to say but the holiday in general was good fun waiters at the mermaid club were brilliant especially Ash if you go and you see him tell him Natalie and Chris says hi and a big kiss ha ha.

If you are looking for a hotel with...
4 / 10
Oct 2006, Mr S Sorbie

If you are looking for a hotel with style, class, peace and tranquility then this is not the place, in our opinion a "Glorified Butlins" with the Butlins entertainment being so much better! Please remember this review is what we encountered and agreed "You get what you pay for". We certainly did.
1st night, escorted to our room and instantly became worried by the Sharm electrical plant that was close by (They don’t mention this in the brochures). We had next to no sleep due to the power plant coming to life at about 2am, the constant noise and vibrations drove us insane and really got the holiday off on the wrong foot. So, in the morning we demanded a change of room and as far away from that monstrosity as possible! 10/10 to the reception staff at 2pm we had a new room in the better side of the hotel and no noise from the plant. Hurrah.
Pros
The sun!
The staff
Are very friendly and in some cases very funny.
The rooms
Are bigger than the average and were always cleaned. If you want your sheets changed more regular then just ask, the staff will always help where possible or know a man who can!
Sharm
A very nice place to visit and Naama Bay is also close by, get a local blue and white taxi as the hotel taxis are more expensive and they can be very stroppy. Pay no more than 25 Egyptian pounds to Naama Bay (£2.50)
Quad biking
You can book this at the hotel but I would go into Naama bay and play one company off against another, you will end up getting it a lot cheaper. Have a bike each it's a lot of fun if everyone gets to drive
Cons
The food
Is plentiful but very, very basic, in fact I could have made tastier myself so we ended up eating out every 2nd night just to get something really enjoyable, trust me you will soon get fed up with what is on offer! The 'A' La Carte restaurant Chez Pascal serves good food, my wife thought the seafood platter was excellent however you can get better in Naama Bay where there are lots of restaurants. We did not have one poor quality meal in town!
Be warned the normal restaurant is like a work canteen, very noisy and you must keep an eye on your food, if you turn away the waiters will have your plate away! Breakfast is particularly bad if you like toast, if you fail to get in early then you will have to queue as there is not enough toasters for the amount of guests. One thing that really got me was the restaurant was not a 'smoke free zone'.
Pool areas
There are 2 areas a quiet one (when the electrical plant is not operating) and the main pool area which really is the hub of the hotel and a very noisy place to be. If you want to hear crap music blasting out all day then this is the place for you. The water polo, aqua aerobics etc are also in this area. We also felt that the pool area is way too small for the amount of sun beds they have around it. The hotel staff also use the footpaths around this area as a service route which really is unacceptable.
Remember this. You cannot use the pool bar from the water side as there is a sign warning of health and safety. This bar can be used from the footpath/walkway side!
Hotel shops
Be on your guard they will try and rip you off as prices are set on how they feel that day!
Internet cafe is actually 2 tables in the corridor outside of the shops, only 1 was working when we tried.
Currency
1st chance you get go to the bank and get lots of small denominations such as Egyptians £5, 10 and 20's. The hotel never has any change (Oh yes they do) In fact not many places have change so come prepared.
Sorry if people disagree but this is our opinion.

Oct 2006, K Trattles

I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone. rooms were cleaned daily all the staff were friendly and helpful, the staff work 17 hours a day 6 days a week and they always had a smile on their face, the food was always hot and there was plenty to choose from. the hotel has 2 pools a quiet one and then there is the noisy on where the hotel animation team of Alex, hasan and David will try to get you to join in with the pool activities i.e. waterpolo volleyball, aqua gym. There is a courtesy bus that will take you to the hotels private beach and also Naama bay. The rooms are lovely and spacious and air conditioned. I give this hotel 10/10
