We arrived very early in the morning & the first room we saw, although on the ground floor, which was our first choice due to disability, was too close to the dining area & we thought it would be noisy. We requested a change & this was arranged for us immediately with no problems.
Although the rooms were basic (what would you expect from a 2 star)they were large, cleaned daily with the bedding & towels changed daily. The balcony overlooking the pool was a joy in the evening, with the lights round the pool & on the restaurant tables (very pretty).
The staff were incredible, nothing too much trouble, they were so friendly & helpful.
Breakfast was basic (tea/coffe/toast - self service) however, if you wanted anything else this would be provided at a very cheap cost. We would certainly use the Renton Manor again as it made a very good base (why would you want to spend a lot of time in the hotel)for visiting the rest of Goa & Beaches. Restaurants in the surrounding area were good & cheap (recommend 'All Spice' & 'Alfresco'). When we did spend time round the pool, we had the whole place to ourselves which was wonderful.

This hotel was lovely. It is one of the cheapest hotels available- so what do you expect? It is not The Ritz- but you are in Goa. The people were lovely- really kind and helpful. My boyfriend and I stayed here for 2 very enjoyable weeks. The pool is best in the mornings as it doesn't really get much sun after about 1pm, however its about 50p in a tuc tuc down to the beach, or you could take a walk if you fancy it.
The food was basic here, but again its about 50p for cereal and toast or a whole £1 for a fry up in the cafe's over the road or in the main resort of Baga.
Breakfast was included however they served snacks and really lovely fruits and juices all day long- all very cheaply.
The rooms are not fab- but ours was clean and its not the sort of holiday where you spend a lot of time in your accommodation.
Make sure you do the overnight Jungle Book trip and any other excursions you fancy, as they are all very affordable and very enjoyable.

I would not even give this hotel 1/10 - it is filthy and disgraceful.
We only stayed 10minutes and then left for a decent hotel.
The staff were rude and the rep was useless.
The bedroom had dirty sheets - including a cockroach on the pillow - the walls were painted blue but were covered in brown dirt, the sink had been glued together and looked very dangerous. There was an electric cable dangling through the shower.
The shower curtain was completely brown and left dangling in the toilet.
The state of the hotel was also appalling with no care for health and safety e.g tiles sticking up round the pool a hazard to trip over. Every single mug etc was chipped and dirty - and there was a table of food in the sunlight with flies all over it.
DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!!

Renton manor - this hotel has got to be the worst hotel I have ever been in.
The rooms were filthy, had a cracked sink that when my wife fell against it it fell to the floor in a thousand pieces only to be told the next morning that we had to pay for it, which I certainly never did.
The staff were as helpful as a water buffalo. This hotel may be basic, but there is a limit. On leaving the hotel on the last morning my wife flushed the toilet and the cistern fell off the wall. If you want basic accommodation do not go here.

Loved, Loved, Loved this hotel. Our room although quite basic was enough for us as a base and was cleaned every day with clean towels & linen bathroom, with a large shower, wardrobe, dressing table and laundry sink, it was really spacious.
Every room had French doors out onto a balcony most of which overlook the swimming pool and restaurant but ours was around the back, but it was nice and quiet.
The staff are so friendly and the food in the restaurant around the pool at night is really good too and so cheap! The breakfast is very limited cereal, tea, & toast but if you want beans or scrambled eggs on toast or anything like that it will cost you about 25p.
The pool and restaurant areas look gorgeous on a night as they have fairy lights around the palm trees and each table has its own lamp they have entertainment nearly every night ranging from Russian & Indian singers to fire dancers.
When you leave the hotel to explore taxi drivers will hassle you straight outside the gates but don't get one live the adventurous way and hop in a Tuktuk (Rickshaw) up the lane they are a real Indian experience and cheaper than a taxi!! If you go out for the day your driver will wait for you and bring you back if you want him to.
The beaches nearby are absolutely fantastic if you are looking for a typical tourist beach with lots of water sports and things to do Baga beach is perfect (golden sand and warm sea).
When you arrive choose a beach shack that you think will be best for you to have some lunch because the sunbeds are lined for each shack, someone will show you to a bed and they bring you your drinks and everything all day and you just pay them your bill when you leave.
If you prefer somewhere really quiet and idyllic try turtle beach it is about twenty minutes in a tuktuk or taxi but well worth it!! Just stretches and stretches of white sand and nothing much else sunloungers are under palm shelters and also belong to each shack.
Watch out for sellers on the beaches don't look for too long at things they are selling as before you know it you can have about 5 sat around you (some of them do sell really nice things and cheap too!!).

Arrived Friday 12 January. Left 12 Jan. Room dirty and unacceptable. High rise rooms mean icy cold swimming pool and enough sunbathing space for about 5 sun beds. Get your towels out early if you want one.
Watch out for the guard on the gate jumping out with his placard, telling you that you are not allowed to bring your own food or drink into the hotel.
Route march to beach at Baga, don't believe the brochure 2.5KM although taxis are cheap and there is a once a day free bus.
The last 1/2 mile to Baga is over a temporary rough dirt/stone causeway. Don't try this in the dark if you don't want to spend most of your holiday in hospital.
Give Colditz (AKA Renton Manor) a miss and go for something in Baga/Calangute.

We got this holiday as a last minute deal so we weren't expecting luxury considering as it was rated 2*. When we got off the plane we were taken aback by the hustle and bustle and people trying to grab your bag to help you carry it for a tip which is great if you like that sort of thing.
The bus did break down on the way, but they managed to fix it in about ten mins, which we thought was pretty impressive although there were lots of disgruntled passengers.
We were so tired from the plane journey when we got there but the staff there were really friendly and welcoming so we were put to ease, and when we were shown to our room, we couldn't believe how nice it was. Really spacious and clean with bathroom and balcony which looked out onto the pool and restaurant.
There were fairy lights hanging down from the top of the building and as it was dark when we arrived, it looked so beautiful. There are lots of restraints within very easy reach of the hotel serving superb food. We can't stress enough how good the food is over there mmm! We recommend for cheapness and authenticity one called the star or starlight. But there are loads to choose from! It was good for us to be two miles from Baga beach because it encouraged us to explore all the other beaches, Candolim and Sinquerim being our favourites.
Taxis are so cheap from right outside the hotel. They are always ready to take you somewhere and if you like you can arrange for them to pick you up and bring you back whenever you like at the end of the day. The hotel restaurant is also good and they provided entertainment every night. I would really recommend this hotel to anyone like us. We are in our 20s and we like quiet beaches and to try all the local food....we were appalled to see a domino's pizza delivery man at our hotel one night!
There is so much to do and see if you get sick of the beach, explore the capitol, visit a spice farm, ride an elephant, swim in a fresh pool made by a waterfall, feed monkeys and so much more all for so little money (we are students in London so very skint!). So go there....you'll have a great time!

Although not luxury, Renton Manor was a great place to stay. It is situated away from the main hustle and bustle of Baga Beach and is only a short (and cheap) cab/tuk tuk ride away from either Calangute or Bage beaches. The staff are all really friendly and take the time to get to know your name.
The location of the dining/drinking area is also great, as you have to walk through it to leave the hotel so you always see someone you've already met which makes the place very social.
The food is not great but there is an excellent restaurant right across the road called 'Honey's' which makes the best English breakfast for a fraction of the price in Renton Manor.
The rooms were cleaned everyday (though maybe not to the highest of standards) and there were new sheets and towels everyday too.
The pool may not get that much sun light throughout the day but who cares? I certainly didn’t go to Goa to hang around the pool.

This hotel is consistently offered as a deal and it was easy to see why; the main problem is that it’s built on four stories on a cramped site and as a result the pool sees little sunlight, being in shadow much of the day. Also unless you’re very athletic, the walk up all those stairs (no lift) would be arduous.
The location probably wouldn’t suit everyone, being out-of-the-way, although there were small restaurants and cafes in the immediate area and, as seasoned Goa travellers, we simply nipped on the bus to Baga or Calangute so it didn’t bother us - and it doesn’t really overlook paddy fields, if you want a genuinely rural location try Marina Dourada.
If it’s being offered cheaply and your expectations are not too high, if you just want a base to dump your stuff and a basic Indian bed then consider it - we didn’t have any nightmare problems, it was clean and safe enough - but exotic luxury it isn’’t.

Rentom Manor is situated far away from the beach. 1 hour walking distance on a busy road to get to the closest beach, the Baga beach.
The personell have a bad attitude.
The towels were smelly, cleaning could be better, spider webs in the ceiling. The linens were clean though! Hard beds.
