Park Avenue Hotel

we found the hotel dirty,noisey at night,the manager was rude and unhelpfull,food was awfull,spoilt our holiday realy,been to goa many times before this hotel has put is off going again.

This was our first holiday to goa. We went with another couple that had been to goa before but not stayed at park avenue hotel. We were all really pleased as although the rooms were basic (but we were told to expect this ) they were cleaned every day and clean towels and bedding provided every day. The staff make this hotel worth coming back to. Nothing was too much trouble for them and they were really helpful and freindly, some real characters amongs them. the food was excellent and the hotel is in a good central position although the road outside is very busy we didnt notice any traffic noise as we had rooms towards the rear away from the road. Excellent holiday we cant wait to go back and are definately booking for next year.

We booked a room with park avenue from their agent in mumbai . Who promised us there would be room services. The lady at the reception was shocked to even know there was such a thing as room service. They charged 1200 Rupees for a double bed room . A lot of my friends had told us that this was too costly being off season .But we trusted the reviews and reviews of friends who went earlier (they had paid 600 rupees and they told us it was 300 off season) . We were shocked to see the way the agent and the hotel increased the prices .
The hotels is really an apartments with lots of peoples names on the doors. So it looks like the guys who own those small dingy apartments rent it out to the hotel.
After complaining they finally changed our rooms .The new room was better but we could not open the window as it was stinking outside. And the room over looks the place where the staff dry their clothes

We went to the restaurant which does not have any place to sit !! We ordered a sandwich and a tea which took 1 hour and also was the wrong order.
The lady promised tea as that was what the agent promised but in the morning there was no sign of the tea.
Beware of the group of taxi cabs outside the hotel they are total conmen and will charge you according to how much they can get out of you. They will also ask the workers at the restaurant where you are from before quoting a price. Walk to the end of the road there is a taxi stand there and as 2-3 driver before settling for a good driver.

I would reccomend this hotel to everyone without a doubt..
My friend and I stayed at the park avenue jan 08. it was faultless, spotless clean rooms, beds and towels changed every day.
We had a room that overlooked the busy calangute road, although noisy specially as Krishna's resturaunt does'nt close till the early hours. It was not overbearingly noisy. ( hot chocolate and honey bee seemed to help.)
Friendly staff. What a great laugh they all were. Nothing was too much trouble.
It was so close to everything..
Next time tho folks could you make sure we are not on the top floor....

a group of us stayed at the park avenue it's our second time to this hotel and the staff are brilliant we renewed our wedding vows in candolim and the manager shane insisted that we had our reception at the park avenue we couldn't of asked for better he laid on a massive buffet for us and a firework display it was all fantastic. I booked a wedding co-ordinator on the internet called renewalsetc.com from panaji the lady was called beatrice and she was fantastic we had everything including wedding photo's and video we will be definately going back to park avenue next year in fact i have already booked the flights for next feb. 3 week this time and beatrice has invited my husband and i to her place for a goan meal how cool!!

We stayed at Park Avenue for 3 weeks in November 2007 and enjoyed everything about this hotel.
The staff in particuar are very friendly and helpful. Yogi, the receptionist, likes to sing and dance and Nelson, one of the waiters likes to torment people (and he likes to be thrown in the pool!!)
Anyone staying at this hotel will have a great time.

me and my wife have just returned from park avenue in calungutne have to say it is our 3rd time here and we would return but not with the current rep (olympic holidays ) he wasnt very helpfull to say the least , anyway the hotel is ideal situted near infantaria bakery exxelent for breakfast and evening meal , also just comeout of the hotel turn left and you walk down the side and you come across the red lion pub it is hidden away and nice , going back to the hotel, the roomboy haddi was veryy good and the room was always kpet clean , we are considering going back in april 2008 ,

We have just returned after spending 2 wks at this hotel, It is in a very good location, staff are excellent, rooms are absolutely spotless along with the sheets and towels which were changed daily.
The pool was cleaned daily and fresh towels available poolside.
I read other reports people had written about this hotel before we arrived, some not so good, but I can honestly say the room we had compared very well with some of the better hotels we have stayed in over the 6 years we have been coming to calengute.
The only negative thing I would say is the music is played far too loud so take some earplugs with you.
WELL DONE PARK AVENUE !

We stayed at the hotel for 3 weeks. The rooms were basic but clean, the staff were very helpful. The problem we had was I had a mobile phone was stolen from my room.
We have been going to Goa for 5 years - this is the first time we have had any form of trouble in Goa. Apart from this we had a good holiday.

This hotel offers basic but very clean accommodation. Rooms are cleaned and sheets are changed every day. There is an extensive menu to choose from and we ate in the hotel most nights as the food is excellent and great value. The pool is very clean and is tended to every day. What makes this hotel great is the staff! Especially the room boys, bar staff and waiting staff - all eager to please and always have smiles on their faces.
This hotel is situated on the Calangute/Baga road and rooms at the front are quite noisy. Of course, this isn't the hotel's fault. On booking you may wish to request a room not overlooking the road if you would prefer a quiet night.
Apart from this there is nothing bad to say about The Park Avenue, I would be glad to stay here again if visiting Calangute.
