My two children absolutely loved it- from pool to beach and back to pool,this is how they spent the week.Food-out of this world- south indian,north indian,goan,chinese,you name it.Staff very friendly.The beach is small, but your own. Jetski, boating is available

We went to the Cidade De Goa at the end of February and had a fantastic time. Its a little bit out of the way, although the hotel provides buses into Panjim every day. There are no shacks on the beach to eat at (like other resorts in Goa) as the beach is private. There are a few restaurants a 5 minute cab ride away in Dona Paula, you can walk it in about 15 minutes and get the jet ski back, which is good fun. ITs a great place but looking a little tired in parts but not that bad to spoil our break, staff are attentive and friendly, the hotel is a great place to relax its at the bottom of a steep hill so its a hard walk up to the main gate mind you theres not much there if you do walk up. My friend and I visited Goa in October 2005, this was our first ever trip to India and we stayed at the Cidade de Goa hotel. We had heard many tales about India, so we did not have high expectations, HOWEVER the holiday was amazing. I do not have a clue how any one can say anything but wonderful things about this hotel and the staff -- but some people are only happy if they are un-happy !!!!!!!! Our family visited Cidade De Goa for two weeks during mid February 2006 and we all can say that this was the most relaxing and enjoyable holiday destination we have ever stayed at. We have spent the previous 15 years holidaying in the Caribbean and Mexico at 4 and 5 Star hotels, mostly All-Inclusive, but this was our best holiday by far. Hi, I have been to goa atleast 15 times but this was my first visit at cidade ( and the last ). The management is least bothered about the comfort of the guests in the first place, as if that was not enough they cheated us, they charged us for superior room ( sea facing), and gave us an ordinary standard room. They kept promising us to upgrade us to suit or superior room all throughout our stay but that was never done. There is no coordination between the reception and management. Just spent christmas at the cidade with my family and friends. First time we've been away for christmas and it wont be the last. I would reccomend this hotel, everything about it is great. My partner and I stayed for two weeks and it was one of the best holidays we have ever had. True the hotel was a bit out of the way, but taxis are so cheap and easy to find that everywhere seemed close (and Baga is so busy and crowded we were definitely pleased with our choice). The staff and food were both excellent, especially the BBQ. Food in the hotel is more expensive, but great quality and the local restaurants are excellent value - we can recommend Sea Pebbles in Dona Paula for lobster! This hotel is not as bad some people made it out to be, buts it not the 5 star hotel it may be labeled as. The main thing about this hotel is that is close to the Panjim town, where you have quite a few choices for shopping and restaurants. It also has a mix of people staying, from locals from other states of India, to tourists from other countries so I think there is a good blend of people. It is also quiet location with no interference from hawkers or anyone else trying to sell you things. It does not have the best beach nor the best... more

Loved Goa and loved Cidade de Goa!!!! Despite what other reviews may say the food was fantastic and we were not ill once during the two weeks that we were there!!! The staff were friendly and very hard working. The rooms were nice and very clean!!! We would love to go back soon!!!!!!
