Vera Beach club resort is designed as an andalucian village, the grounds are very well kept and very clean, the apartments are well maintained and kept relatively clean, although we had around 10 cockroaches visit us on our weeks holiday!! (thank god for the weight of mens trainers!!) the village itself is surrounded by metal mesh fencing and you are given keys for the metal gates and swimming pool gates which must mean they have had many break ins in the past? The surrounding area is smelly (like old sewage) of an evening, which put us off our walks immensly!! the beach leaves a lot to be desired!! We did not feel very safe venturing very far on our own, and as there was no evening entertainment other than a demonstration on how to make a paella(with no explanation on how to cook it etc!! all guesswork!!as the cook could not speak a word of any language other than Spanish BIG DISSAPOINTMENT!!) our word of advice is don't bother, go somewhere much more pleasant like Tenerife maybe?
