Stayed here for 2 weeks, the staff didn't have much english which was fine, they were still friendly enough to us.
The rooms were basic and cleaned once a day (floor swept). Food and drink was expensive in the hotel but we ate and drank out nearly every night.
One thing i thought was very wrong was that they charge you for the use of the foam cushions that go on the sunbeds, when you are a guest in a hotel you expect these thing to be there for your use at no extra cost but not here and if you take one they are straight out the door behind you for the money, that really put me off.
Hotel close (10 min walk) to main town and beach.

Myself, husband and daughter stayed at the golden moon august 2010. We found it basic but clean, the pool is super which is where we spent most of the holiday.
It is in a great location, half way between the harbour and ladies beach. The staff were friendly and helpful.It is at the top of a steep hill but you can jump on the buses and the taxis are cheap enough. The roof bar is lovely, fabulous view over the harbour, opens from 10.30pm -2.am.
One set back we had to pay extra for the air conditioning and there was only one unit in the kitchen/lounge, isn't one in the bedroom. But we managed.
Overall good holiday.

stayed at the golden moon in august 2008 did not enjoy it prices of drinks expensive as is the shop in the hotel. staff not friendly was supposed to stay 2 weeks left after 1 as not enjoying ourselves on the plus side the pool was lovely but jacuzzi advertised not working. the only helpful staff were the reception staff others were not even happy never mind ready to serve or talk to guests

The hotel has faciliteis, but staffed by the owners/managers and their relatives. the service from these resident owenrs are dreadful. we went half board and the seating area is always occupied by the Owner families, The food is cooked for the owners and then served cold to the rest of the people, you need to wait for them to finsigh thier meal before u r being served.
The Half baord food doesn't have any choice, If you are travelling with kids, just forget this place. So many restrictions on HB guests even u can't buy stuff for ur kids and take that into your room, worse than a school hostel.
Never ever go to this place even by accident

We booked last minute a few days before heading out to Kusadasi and didn't really know anything about the place, so were a bit concerned it could all go horribly wrong! Fortunately the Golden Moon was a friendly place, the rooms were clean and we had a nice balcony looking over the sea and town. On Tuesdays a fruit market surrounds the streets adjacent to the hotel, which is really cool, especially if you like watermelons! It was a short pleasant wander down the hill thorough the old part of town to the centre past the Turkish Baths, you can also get buses from the main road really cheaply, and the main bus station is about 15 mins walk if you want to go to historic Ephesus, or the beaches (Long Beach is nice and quiet compared with Ladies Beach). I'd highly recommend a boat trip along the coast from Pigeon Island...

When booking the holiday the holiday company advised us to check the net whilst on the phone - they looked fine but in the flesh the apartments were totally different... There was 4 of us and it all got a little crammed but we moved the bedding into the bedroom and no one stayed in the lounge as it was far too hot.
The bathroom was not big enough to swing a cat! And the waredrobe was in the kitchen.....
On the up side, how much time do you stay in your accomodation? the apartments were clean and the people that worked there were very friendly and acommodating where possible. The location is great, not too far from the beach, shops and nightlife.
The pool was also much smaller in the flesh than advertised on the net. Our tour company was not very helpful.

This is the second time i have stayed in Golden Moon the first time being July 2007. The apartment was very clean and tidy and the room service was excellent. The hotel staff were fantastic always on hand to help at any time of the day or night, We had three children and the staff made them very welcome. I would recommend Golden Moon to all my family and friends, and hope to return again soon.

Golden Moon is a great place to stay. I went with a friend and we had a great time the staff are really freindly and speak good English. The rooms are clean but basic, which is fine as we ate out most of the time. There is a nice pool but remember to take your own towel! There is heaps to do but the hotel is right on the top of the hill which we did not find a problem you can walk it in like 10mins or get a taxi.
Not the quietiest of hotels as Turkey seems to be awake 24/7!
All in all a good place to stay probley a UK 2 star.

I stayed in the Golden Moon Apartments with my family. The rooms are basic but perfectly satisfactory. The staff were absolutely fantastic and couldn't do enough for us.
We only ate bar snacks on site as we like to explore different restaurants, but everything that we ate there was fine. We went to the Turkish Night that was arranged by the staff which proved to be very entertaining for all the family and again the food was good.
The children spent much of their time in the pool which was lovely and just the right size for this relatively small hotel. Golden Moon is situated very conveniently for the centre of Kusadasi (as long as you don't mind a hill climb back - not too long though) where the people were yet again very friendly.
This was a fantastic first family holiday to Turkey and we would seriously contemplate returning to Golden Moon after we have finished exploring the rest of the country. Only down side - they don't like to replace toilet rolls so you have to buy your own, don't get caught short!!!
