This is a 2-3* (British rating) hotel at the most. We paid around £300 each - 2 adults, 2 children all-inclusive. 1st impressions of the area and hotel were not good (compared to pics on net). Entering our room - we were not excited - as we normally would be. The room... more

I went as part of a group of 16 (all of us 18), and was really impressed. The food was good, and the pool and facilities superb. There are a lot of steps but they didn’t pose a problem and I certainly wouldn’t describe them as a health risk. We did have an issue with a... more

This was the third hotel our company had placed us in after they had pulled out of our original Hotel World Club in Altinkum. I would not go back there, in its time I think it would of been a good hotel, however I found it to be run down. We stayed for 12 days and in that... more

Gumbet is a lovely place - but this hotel was ridiculous. Rooms were rarely cleaned, service was non-existent. Food was repetitive and securing clean plates and dishes was a struggle. In the end we ate out every night! The rep was invisible - especially towards the end... more

We just returned and have never been in such a dirty hotel. The rooms are disgraceful, we had dirty sheets when we arrived with blood stains on them. I had to ask 5 times for room service and still never got any. There was sewage coming up from the shower and toilet. The... more

I agree the staff were nice and the hotel was clean, but the food was bad the rooms weren't what we wanted. They said things that weren't true. Our phone did work but rang all through the night. The waiters walked out on our 5th night due to not being paid so there was... more

Originally we booked to go and stay at the World Club hotel but had to be moved due to the hotel being closed down. The hotel itself was really nice and clean. The room was ok apart from me and my boyfriend booked a double room and got a twin room. We had no hot water and... more

Just returned back this was third hotel in two days as we were moved up from Altinkum. Told by reps better than the others, we had stayed in WORLD CLUB and KHARMA. The rooms were clean and tidy; however the water and electricity frequently went of. The pool was dirty and... more

If you go to this hotel expecting English 4* facilities then you'll be disappointed, if you go expecting a great 2* or an average 3* then I’m sure you'll be pleasantly surprised. The hotel is by no means perfect but there’s not a great deal wrong with it. It looks as... more

had a great time, would definately go back
i booked to go to this hotel and only read the reviews a few days before we got there and was dreading it. Don't listen to the bad reviews we loved this hotel. The pool was lovely the staff were friendly and we didnt have to wait for drinks once. The food was nice but repetitive but i find thats normally the case with all inclusive hotels. The rooms were big and clean and the maids always turned up. The animation team were hillarious! the hotel is in a good location too! The only thing i would say is its not a place for people with walking... more
Fantastic Holiday, ok hotel.
I went away with my best friend and we had a great time. The location of this hotel was superb. The hotel itself was ok, it was only a bed for us girls at the end of the day as we partied hard. The hotel room which we stayed, 113, was not spotless when we arrived. The bathroom looked like it hadn't been cleaned but we dealt with that, didn't really bother us to much. Whilst we were staying there the wardrobe broke along with the shower head. When telling reception they did not understand English very well and it took us a couple of... more
Great Hotel, Fabulous Holiday!
I too read the previous reviews and nearly died. i was expecting the worst and even took extra money to eat out if everything really was as bad as it was reviewed. thankfully we found the hotel absolutely brilliant, the staff were polite and helpful, we never once had to que for drinks, the food was excellent, the rooms were clean and looked newly furnished, the entertainers although at times a bit overbaring, were good fun. the only thing i would say it that the slide is a bit of a death trap, and i wouldn't want to go with children... more
Many steps but pretty ok.
ROOMS -- we asked for seaview. the first room they showed us was a family suite with a view of a wall. the 2nd room the showed us was a smaller one with a minature view of the sea... well, better than nothing. BATHROOM -- pretty decent. Except they don't replenish the toiletries. I was happy to find cotton wool and earbuds, but it was only available the 1st day. ALL-INCLUSIVE CONCEPT -- Drinks are inclusive, together with meals. But imported alcoholic drinks and fanciful coffee like cappucino are additional. Make... more
Under New Management - Great Hotel
Booked this hotel before reading previous reviews - horrified, but too late to change hotels, so was dreading this holiday. Delighted to say that in March new management took over and have turned the place around. Could not fault this hotel, food good, everywhere very clean, pools were beautiful and the daytime activities by the entertainment team were a great laugh, I did not join in but just watching the other guests was hilarious. All the hotel staff could not do enough for us, and even the rooms are modern and big. Will definately go... more
Hope you haven't booked yet!!
From start to finish, in worst holiday we have ever had, I'm afraid that previous bad reviews are all true. Rooms were filthy, mould al over the bathroom, cleaner sometimes didn't turn up until 6pm, no hot water, pool filthy only realised how filthy when we got home & looked at the pics/video. All inclusive?? Bar stays open untill 11pm but only one bar open with one barman serving & lots of guests queing all night, & we are not big drinkers. If you spoke Turkish you were fine. One night a english man got behind the bar &... more
i loved it there
i loved it at the grand iskandil hotel i went in august there where lots of things to do for the kids and lots of games. the animation team where very helpful they let me be part of the animation team for a week it was great. I went with my mum,dad my brother who is 12c and my little sister who is six and we all loved it. the food was ok but it wasn't excellent and the staff where very friendly. the night entertainment because it was funny they had these competion and i had to enter one i had to sing a song with ice in my mouth , act... more
Don't stay there!!
I agree, this is a terrible place. We stayed there one week. Dirty bedroom and bathroom, everything was broke, poor lights and no service at all. Sometimes they just forgot to clean our room or bring towels because they were "too busy". I am dutch, but I hated the animation as well, it was in turkish most of the time, sometimes in very poor english. Pool was dirty, tiles very slippery. This is a very bad place. Don't ruin your vacation by booking this hotel.
terrible hotel
just returned from this hotel how this hotel is rated a 4 star i will never know it is dirty, the rooms are covered in mould up the walls, the beds are camp beds. The food is disgustiging flys and cats in the resturants the staff are slow as the hotel is well under staffed. if you complain at reception dont expect any responce, they are ignorant. The hotel is nothing but steps with no lighting, electricity cuts out often. The pool area is a death trap broken tiles, and very slippy. Water slide when it is on is dangerous but most of the time... more
Hated the Place!!
We stayed at the Grand Iskandil this year. If you want a quiet holiday this is not for you. Came home Monday 11th July. We hated the place. No-one speaks any English including the staff. We felt so isolated. My 14yr old son hung on to us like a leach. The hotel is very vast and is on lots of levels. It has lovely views. The bar is only free up untill 11pm with one bar member on duty. Then the prices are very expensive. The food is very repetative. We ate out all the time such a waste of money. There are two pools one fitness... more
