Comments:  What an awful unfriendly hotel. The management have a real chip on there shoulder (they are British) and are very unhelpful. The staff are good but clearly frightene of the management

Our room wasnt ready when we arrived and when we got into it it wasnt cleaned properly. After two days I complained to the manageress and she told me if I did not lijke the hotel I should go elsewhere, se we did

This is really a one star B and B and has masses of British Tourists who like the English Pub and are often unruly and very noisy.

If you are looking to enjoy the Goan culture this is the last place to stay. Its crude and full of timeshare apartments and a long way from the beach

Comments:  What an awful hotel.
The room was dirty and the receptionist very unhelpful
The breakfast was very poor and often items such as milk had run out and when we requested more milk the waitress just shrugged and worked off
I spoke with the manageress (English) bnut she was very dismissive and said if we didnt like the hotel we should find elsewhere. What a rude person she was
Geberally it was an a very disappointing experience when you consider we paid over £40 per night
We moved out after 2 nights and moved to another Hotel which was excellant

Comments:  A very Good basic Hotel with a clean and very friendly staff.
Beach is just a short walk away .Private road leads to the beach shacks.
Breakfast is served with in a few minuites of ordering and is piping hot.
Slightly older longer stay guests who stay for a long time .This speaks for itself.
Some tours are available These are also worth going to .They are pretty cheap.
Food in evenings is reasonably priced and a large variety is avialable within a short walk.
Shops are across the road literally. A great river view restraunt is 10 mins walk away.

Comments:  Mobor beach resort was better than we expected being only a 2 star resort. The room we stayed in was clean and of ample size for 2 people who just needed a base. It is very basic but that is all we wanted. The bathroom was clean and the shower worked perfectly. You handed your key in at reception in the morning and when you returned the room had been cleaned, towels replaced and bed changed. Also there is a great laundry service available if needed. The staff were very friendly and always willing to help. Breakfast is very basic , toast, jam, fruit juice and tea or coffee but if you fancied a cooked breakfast staff was only too willing to provide at a very small cost.
What makes this resort so special is the regulars who go there, it was our honeymoon and we were quite abit younger than most there as it does seem to be popular for a slightly older generation ,and because they had been to Goa many times alot of good advice was given to us and because of that we got to see the best places and go on the best trips. It is an ideal place for a honeymoon for people like ourselves who dont like things too commercial. Cavelossim is a lovely place with market stalls lining the road towards the many great restaurants. We tried most of the restaurants and they were all great. Cavelossim is also not to great a distance away to travel further afield , the white taxis are always available and very cheap.
Mobor beach resort has its own private road to the beach which is literally 5 mins walk away, yes they are building at the moment but who cares what that looks like because everything is so beautiful when you get to the beach it really does not spoil things. The beach shack GG's is really good if you buy a drink when you arrive you are given sunbeds and brolly free all day! The staff are very friendly and the food again is great, they do a fantastic beach party on wednesday nights with great food ,fireworks and free transport to and from the hotel.
I must also mention the pub in the hotel called Port o call, not only are the people that run it really great as they make you feel so welcome, but also the toasties are fantastic!
We love football and even though we went away to get away from it all we couldn't give that up!
The beach is not over-crowded infact we couldn't even hear the nearest people talking, the sea is warm, cavelossim is as busy and lively as you want it or as quiet and romantic as you want it, thats what makes it so special.
We had a perfect honeymoon and are already saving to return to Mobor beach resort.

Comments:  Hotel was basic but this was expected due to the cheap price and location. My room was ok not the cleanist of places if being honest. The other room for our party was dark, dingy, dirty with plenty of flies.
The waitors were pleasant..but the resident dogs made some members of the party very nervous. The dogs had access to any part of the hotel, including the restaurant where you eat breakfast.
The breakfast included includes the usual toast with orange and/or tea. The portions fo orange are about 3 times our sizes of shot glasses though...and payment is required.
The pool is lovely and clean though! The private road to the beach is perfect to avoid hassle from the locals.
There is a great English type pub called Port O'Call with snooker, sky, table football which is a nice change!

Comments:  Having read the positive remarks, booked early for our 3 week stay at Mobor Beach Resort.

Given temporary room for first night. Moved to room 117 which has the most dismal outlook and worst view we have ever had anywhere in the world.

We learned that most of the Airtours accommodation is on this side. Gurgling sewage plant, corrugated shacks of builder’s accommodation and fine red dust over balustrade balcony. Room hot and in full sun all day.

Evasive action from the hotel management when we requested room change. After 4 days we requested hotel change through the Airtours rep. She could only offer resorts some distance away.

Having friends staying in Cavelossim, this was not an option. It’s our 7th stay in Goa - which we love with a passion. We've stayed in a variety of accommodation in North and south Goa, including guest houses, so we're experienced travellers and know what to expect. We hired a scooter and stayed away several nights.

I've given a 4 score on account of the lovely cleaner. We will return to Cavelossim and Goa but not to the Mobor Beach Hotel Resort.

Comments:  I know this hotel is only a 2 star but was still somewhat disappointed.

Our room was tiny no air con just a small ceiling fan, which looked as if was about to fly off at any minute.

The 2 towels looked as if they had been through a 1000 washes very threadbare. The shower, when it eventually got warm, you had to run around in to get wet, not a power shower.

I’ve been to India 9 times now but have never been bitten as bad as in this hotel. I thought it might have been in the bed sheets but could not be sure.

What small cupboard space we had smelt damp and musty. No TV or fridge in room you had to rent them per day.

One night I shut the sliding door onto the balcony and the catch fell down locking us out, after about 1hr of shouting 2 waiters came over the other balconies, telling us there were no spare keys to the rooms and we had to climb over 3 balconies to get to a room that was free.

Being on the 3 floor it was very dangerous, we spent the night in a spare room and a locksmith was called in the morning.

The staff were friendly enough but a bit on the slow side at times.

We had booked for a month but had to move over the road after 2 weeks at a further cost of £1200.

The one good thing was, they had a good supply of Castle beer at the hotel bar which was hard to get elsewhere.

Will return again but just for a beer and to see little Phil.

Comments:  This is our fourth year at Mobor Beach resort, it just gets better and better. The new road from the resort to the beach makes it much easier to get there.

The shacks lining the main road down into town, have all been removed and the area tidied up, so there is no hassle to go into the "shops" every time you pass.

The beach shack GG's, serves the most wonderful food and has a great atmosphere, as does the Port O call pub within the complex.

All the staff at the resort are very friendly and extremely helpful, the rooms are cleaned and fresh linen provided on a daily basis.

I would thoroughly recommend this resort for a friendly relaxing holiday.

Comments:  I studied all previous reviews for Mobor beach resort, I think they are generally accurate. However there is no mention of the sewage plant close by, or the building work on either side of the hotel, or the new road which is being built behind the hotel, (for access to the beach).

Red dust from the road works in every nook and cranny in the hotel generally and on walls in the room. Brown water which comes from the washbasin taps and toilet flush. From our hotel room balcony there were views of the rear of the traders "shops", plastic sheets for walls etc, the road workers accommodation, which were galvanised corrugated sheds, used for sleeping, washing and toilets.

We had to pass all the traders when going out during the day or night, each one sending their children to beg you to visit their "shops", once or twice is ok, not every time you pass though. Never to return.

Comments:  Hotel was really well placed for sight seeing with excellent facilities onsite such as tailors, gift shop, bar and restaurant. It was always spotlessly clean. Staff were very helpful and respectful. Nothing was too much trouble from the cleaners to the waiters to the management. Food in the hotel was high quality and very large portion. Although their idea of a salad was slightly different to mine... Sister restaurant Gaffino's was nice but thought it was a bit dark.

The hotel pool is small but always really clean. Bar staff were quick and efficient at all times especially Mario the head waiter. Prices in the hotel were excellent unlike in the UK!

The beach was a short walk away and was really lovely golden sands with FREE sun loungers and brolleys. The hotel were just building their own private area with a beach hut & shop. Hope Judy & staff managed to get everything up and running. We are going back again in Nov this year to see how things have progressed.

Hotel & area surrounding not really suitable for disabled visitors but the brochure did warn of this.

The bus trips and Tuk Tuk rides are something else and should be done at least once during your stay... As was the spice plantation and the trip to the elephants.

The Mobor beach is highly recommended and I would stay here anytime.

Comments:  Myself and family have stayed at Mobor Beach Resort many times, it's just the best. The staff are a delight, and treat you as friends, not just guests, nothing is too much trouble. The location is perfect, it's clean, well run, lovely views from the terraces and Cavelossim is an ideal spot, lots to do, fantastic places to eat, we are proud to say that we have made such good friends not only at the hotel but in the restaurants and beach shacks locally, our favourite spot on the beach is Seaways, here Julio and Mario will make you very welcome, and do go to the beach party!!

Comments:  100% fantastic. Staff could not do enough to make you happy, and so friendly. Like they have known you forever and never forgot your name. Food very good, accommodation spotless clean. Beach within walking distance.

May not be suitable for people with walking difficulties as there are no lifts. Just wish I found it years ago the experience was excellent (we go again next feb 2006 for 21 nights that’s how much we enjoyed it) you don’t know what your missing!

Comments:  We stayed at the Mobor Beach resort for a month from 18 November 2004. We got married whilst we were there and had arranged our wedding through the manager Brian Gaffino.

The wedding was fabulous, we got married on beautiful Cavelossim beach at sunset with all our friends (from home and local friends).

We celebrated the evening at the Goldeneye restaurant in the village in Cavelossim where we held a party with a live band and fireworks. The Goldeneye restaurant is highly recommended, owned by Mario.

We could not fault the Mobor Beach Resort, it was spotlessly clean and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful, especially Russell on reception, a great lad!

We always had clean white towels delivered to the room every day and the room was cleaned every single day we were there for a full month.

There is a nice bar area with pool table and sat TV which my son enjoyed and the waiters would often have a game of pool with him.

The hotel is also really central to all the restaurants and shops of the resort and only about 10 mins to the beautiful Cavelossim beach which is where we spent every day of our holiday.

Highly recommended is silver sand beach shack and silver waves beach shack for food, drinks and most of all their hospitality.

In the resort I highly recommend the Goldeneye restaurant where the food is amazing and has a great bunch of lads to take care of you, but i also recommend the Getdown where pinto will really take care of you and they also have a great menu, a lovely setting and a great atmosphere.

I would definitely not hesitate to spend a holiday at the Mobor beach. We are due to go back in November 05 for 28 nights because we have fell in love with the place and this will now be our third visit.

Try the Mobor beach, I guarantee once you’ve been you will be hooked forever!!
