Bahia Meloneras Bungalows Reviews
" We had a lovely stay in Bahia... "

We had a lovely stay in Bahia bungalows phase II. We stayed for the Xmas week and we had a fantastic 3 bed bungalow overlooking the pool next to reception. We found it very clean, with new towels and bed linen provided, everything in kitchen was top quality and all worked.
The only thing I could complain about would be the pool. It was advertised as heated but was not, but this did not bother the children as the weather was hot. If you want to stay at these bungalows, may I suggest you book independently through the owner’s direct website and not through a tour operator.
Overall a fantastic holiday and we will definitely return next Xmas.

" Second stay at Bahia Meloneras and... "

Second stay at Bahia Meloneras and definitely the last. Arrived 2.30am with 3 kids and 8month old baby. We had requested room near to reception in phase 2, the security guard gave us key and pointed, found room down 16 stairs.
We slept that night but asked to be moved where we originally requested, we had a choice of 2 other rooms, one dirty and one with no air/con, both the furthest side of complex to where we were.
First 3 days fine, but on the Friday evening we tried to get through to complex 1 to order a taxi (as all of complex 2 was shut including bar and pizzeria - reception only open till 5pm) only to find that the lovely Spanish residents who were staying at the complex had changed all the locks on all the interconnecting gates.
We were told wait till Monday for them to fixed, but come Monday complex staff shrugged their shoulders and couldn't help, so each night we had to climb 2 6ft gates/walls just to order a taxi to get out.
We went self catering but the shop by us had nothing, and to get to the other shop was 15mins walk plus to 6ft gates to climb (not too fetching in swim wear).
When we returned from holidays I checked out the brochure for next year, and asked the travel agent if they were aware that half the complex is closed, the rest is like Alcatraz. So anybody that has booked this complex for a future holiday, good luck. Don’t forget your climbing gear!

What can I say. We had originally booked to stay at the sister apartment but it had been closed. The nightly entertainment that was advertised was cancelled (Sundays only). It is under new ownership.
The apartment was dirty, the fridge, hob was broken. The apartment wasn’t cleaned very well. The staff and the new owner were rude and unfriendly.
Our sofa bed was broken so one of us (we were a party of 5) had to sleep on a camp bed for two weeks!!
The barman is very nice though.
Don’t buy any Lilo's etc from the hotel shop as you are forbidden to use them in the hotel pool.
The bar shuts at 9.30pm. Zero atmosphere.
Be warned stay away.

Overall we had a good holiday in Gran Can, main problem with myself and many others was I had requested a pool view which I got, unfortunately there was no water in the pool), it was being re-tiled and we had to use the pool at the Bahia Bungalow No 1, this was a daily hike every day, we were advised the new pool will be ready early July when they will close the other pool for refurbishment, be warned!
The apartments are spacious and clean, large fridge/freezer and TV etc. We hired a car and saw most of island which is very beautiful.
Beware of the Anfi time share people, not many about but you may still be tempted, the Anfi resort is first class, but take care!
Finally if you are a family Meloneras is your best bet, leave Playa Ingles and Porto Rico for the 18-30 Clubbers.

The Bar their by the pool, lovely!.. loved them, great prices and friendly, my boyfriend got on really well with them and the other familys did aswell. Lovely food and they are a family that work their and another couple they are lovely really enjoyed the holiday with them, had some great laughs.
The sea wasn't far away, we were out the way of all the noise and if you wanted some entertainment it is in walking distance.
so therefore it was good, the room service was good it was ony the receptionist BEWARE she is rude and horrible and doesn't help!> It is a Lady with gingery hair the man was nice but not her!>
