We stayed here for Christmas and booked through rooms gran canaria - which was the only mistake of the holiday. The woman who runs this was completely rude and also there were other families who were treated the same. We had a 3 bedroom villa , one room being in the... more

We had a lovely stay in Bahia bungalows phase II. We stayed for the Xmas week and we had a fantastic 3 bed bungalow overlooking the pool next to reception. We found it very clean, with new towels and bed linen provided, everything in kitchen was top quality and all worked.... more

What can I say. We had originally booked to stay at the sister apartment but it had been closed. The nightly entertainment that was advertised was cancelled (Sundays only). It is under new ownership. The apartment was dirty, the fridge, hob was broken. The apartment... more

Go to Bed - Its after 10 O`Clock - Quiet - Shhhhhhhhh !
Good Points : Our Family (2Ad+4Ch) had a Duplux Bungalow (facing onto the road) which was clean and spacious. Nice Kitchen with Air/C. Private Lawn with cushioned sun loungers. Regular Maid Service. Pool area was clean. Fab Weather. Small rocky beach and approx five restaurants within 5 min walk. Bad Points : We literally spoke to no one nor did our kids make friends as we seemed to be the only english speaking family in this complex at this time. The brochure (Panorama) stated it had apt run kids club and varied entertainment - for our children this consisted of approx two or three times in the two weeks to "colouring a picture". Entertainment was non existant - we checked it out often - imagine going to the complex bar on a sunday night at a quarter to ten and all that was there was two others and us two adults. The bar man told us he was closing and hed give us a drink to take outside ! There was no music. Reception only had one english speaking staff. The mini market had no english speaking staff and if she dident understand you she ran across to reception - and if that girl was off - fiasco ! Fresh Milk was like gold dust as they seemed to only get a delivery twice a week. Our family got into a taxi a least eleven out of the fourteen evenings and got to other areas to restaurants, shows, parks, and other entertainment. This holiday was not cheap to go on (we paid €3600-00) and we spent another fortune on entertaining ourselves. We wont be going back to this spot until we are in our eighties....
Was allmost ok!
Aparment was allmost ok and it was clean. Kitchen has oven, ceramic stove, pans and pots, all intruments for eating (forks, knifes, spoons etc..). Towels smelled bad and were shabby. Pool was just right size not too big and not too small and there was pool guard. Big problem with the place was that they charged our staying from creditcard three times and creditcard went over limit. They have not done anything to solve the problem. We do not go there again.
peaceful accomodation
We have just returned from bahia meloneras apartments we were there for one week .the accomodation was great all facilities were acceptable there were kitchen equipment if you chose to entertain at home. it was very peaceful and relaxing and only a short walk into the town which was quiet just what we wanted only a small selection of restaurants and bars. we would definately go back there again hoping to back sept .... it is well worth a visit.
So So
We just spent a week in this place. It seems these are time share units, so furniture and equipment differs per apartment. Very roomy, but in our case also very poorly equipped. Two pans, no coffeemaker, no teapot or something else to put coffee or tea in etc. Our apartment had an empty basement, which made the home sound like an empty church, not very cosy. Cleaning is not top, but OK. The restaurants of the place are not very good, we recommend to go somewhere else. The staff was friendly enough. The pool is heatable, but not heated! This week temperature was not above 21 C, so we could have done with some warmer water. All together no destination for us to return to.
great place to stay
Just arrived back from Bahia Meloneras apartments and would definatley go back. It was ideal for us have we have 3 children the apartment was more like a house with an upstairs and our own garden too. It was clean and spacious the only comment i would make is i think the bed clothes and towels could of been changed more often than once a week but the location was great and maspalomas was very up market compared to Playa de ingles it was about a 10 minute walk to the sandy beach.
We will not go back
We went to Bahia Meloneras for Christmas 2004 until the new year of 2005. We did not like the complex at all. We are used to the comfort and services of the RIU business. This year we chose not for RIU (big mistake) but for an bungalow because it was the first time we went on vacation with two kids, so we thought we needed for our comfort two sleeping rooms. This is our story and experience with the complex: When we came to the complex the reception was totally dark (seven in the morning). A shabby man opened the door and checked if we had booked in part one or two of the complex. After 15 minutes he came to the conclusion that we had indeed booked for the bungalow so our taxi could finally leave. When he had found the keys of the bungalow, he wanted us to show the way. But how did we get the two suitcases, two buggies, hand luggage and two kids to the bungalow??? There was no luggage-van available to put on the suitcases etc. So he finally got his own car, with only two seats in the front to bring us to the bungalow. (my husband and two year old daughter were seated on the floor of the back of the car). When we came to the bungalow the door at the backside could not be opened, so we went over the wall, of the bungalow next to it with kids and luggage. The valve door of glass on the other side of the bungalow could be opened, but later on could not be closed anymore. The bungalow was cold (al lot of holes and ajar, which we stuffed with cushions), the beds were not yet made and the sheets did not fit on the double bed. The baby bed which we booked for was not yet in the bungalow and was finally brought to the bungalow in the afternoon. This all in the circumstances, that our two kids were very tired. Further the pans were really dirty (I would not even cook my last meal in it when I should die), the shower had low power and after three persons showering, the warm water was finished and the bungalow was not properly cleaned (clouds of dust and fat fingers on the kitchen doors and refrigerator). We asked two times for other pans, but until the end we didn’t get them. We also had to ask three times for the passport of my husband which he gave when checking in. At the reception there is a sign with “exchange/ wechseln”, but when we asked for a change of € 500 it was not possible because he had only € 200 in cash. Strange but probably also not because there could not be earned something with it. Later on in the week the cleaning ladies didn’t show any bother to clean the house properly- they don’t clean under the bed, table, chairs etc. The towels are exchanged three times a week which is not a problem at first sight if there are enough towels in the bungalow, but there were not enough. The complex is about two years old, but trough the cheap materials a lot is broken, dirty, not working or doesn’t look good. At day two we decided to take it for what it is and we made ourselves a good vacation, but not through Bahia Meloneras. We will never come back there and I really don’t understand the good references written before us.
would go back
We visited in August this year stayed 2 weeks, 2 adults and 2 children aged 7 and 13. We all had a great time, this was our first time to Gran Canaria and will definately return, the complex was really nice and clean the pool area lovely plenty of room, the pool never crowded, lots of entertainment to keep the kids happy while we could relax in the sun, staff very helpful only had acouple of problems and they were sorted out straight away. The apartments were beautiful a well equipped kitchen, very comfortable bedrooms and bathroom, both showers were powerful, lovely. The only thing there was no english speaking tv channels only spanish and german.A lovely balcony to sit on from the double bedroom and a lawned area with table and chairs and 2 loungers. A nice quiet location although i expect will get busy in years to come. Looking forward to our next visit.
Really loved the apartments and peace in the area
Would stay there again, really loved the apartment (okay so we were spoilt) had a 2 bed apartment for us!! The area, surroundings everything was just perfect. We have been to Maspalomas 3 times before and this is the best place we have stayed (more upmarket than the normal self catering apartments).
Better than expected
We booked our holiday a long way in advance so we could choose a location closer to the beach for the children. The nearest beach is 200m away down a steep pathway, the water is quite often to rough for young children and very rocky but a very quiet location, my kids loved it! The area of Meloneras is in development, at Bahia Meloneras we had a very comfortable two bed apartment newly refurbished with washing machine, air conditioning, dish washer and a lovely view of the sea, not all apartments can boast these extras though, so be sure to request when you book. The maid service was very frequent about 5 times a week. Maspolomas beach is about a 20-30 min walk away, I was 6 months pregnant at the time and found this a little too far. There is a lovely promenade leading to maspolomas but is poorly lit at the Meloneras end at night. We found it easier to get in a Taxi to maspolomas which always cost less than 2/3 euros. Eating out seemed a little costly, we took extra spending money and seemed to spend it all on food. On the whole we enjoyed our holiday whether we spent time by the pool or on the beach. When things got too hot the apartment was always cool! Accommodation 9/10 Location 7/10 Hotel food 6/10 Limited selection at times
great place for families
We just returned from a weeks stay in Bahia Meloneras, we had a great time. The bungalows (103 in total) are two stories high, each bungalow has a private garden with terrace. The rooms are spacious, each bungalow can house up to six people (two bedrooms and a fold out bed/sofa in the living room). There is a restaurant on the premises, open for breakfast (buffet) and dinner (a la carte). Breakfast was average, diner was below average (small portions for a fair price, nothing spectaculair). On the complex there is a large freeform swimming pool, surrounded by (ample) sunbeds. Also there is animation and entertainment, our youngest (6 years) was a big fan of the miniclub. The beaches are a 15 minute walk away (Maspalomas, with sevral restaurants there) or a 10 minute walk (playa Meloneras). On Playa Meloneras there is a shopping center being build, near the beach are two reastaurants. We especially liked Casa Serafin, which has several reasonably priced, but delicious, day-menus (fish, paella, gamba's etc.). Eating there and watching the sun set in the sea was one of the highlights of our vacation. We will defenitely come back to Bahia Meloneras.
