The apartments were clean enough and they were well equipt for a self catering holiday. When we arrived the reception was closed so we were guided to our rooms by an A4 piece of paper. The reception/bar/shop were only open 10- 4. This caused major issues with unruly holidaymakers shouting, drunk and swimming in the pool at any hour with no-one to monitor the problem and when we reported this it was shrugged off. As there was no-one there after 4 the locals would come with there screaming kids to play in the pool, again with no-one there to regulate the problem it spoilt what would of been a lovely holiday.
As everyoe else has commented the beds are awful, I have got terrible backache from the slabs of foam and the pillows are sacks filled with crumbled foam absoloutly ghastly!
The two ladies who worked there were very pleasant and helpful ( with the exception of reporting the noisy holidaymakers )
Yes it is away from everything but i think that was a bonus! cabs are so cheap, we discovered the Yumbo centre which is quite cool full of bars and restaurants . Only go to aqualand i you have a LOT of money it is extremely expensive

We only stayed one night yet booked and paid for 7, staff very friendly when we arrived late at night, nice setting BUT rudely awoken by 3 very ignorant/drunk young guys who had been evicted from other accomodation by Airtours. Obviously no objection from management here and with all the rudeness, abuse, and loud music being played from their room, no management said a word to them!!
We then walked outside the complex into a large sprawling mess 'mass' bungalows etc. It would take an hour to walk to beach. We got a taxi to town and booked into nice accomodation on the beach. Tour operator; Sunshine Holidays 'don't bother they are not interested'
Maspolomas great! but not out in the wilds where this place is!! Never ever bothered to write before but I just had to this time!!

Had a great time here in Oct 2006.
Very clean apartments, staff very friendly especially Daniel, who was on the bar/reception at night. Nothing was too much trouble for him.
Good pool at the complex, about ten minutes walk to holiday world. You really need to take a taxi if you want to go to the Yumbo shopping centre in Playa del Ingles, its only 3 Euro. Intend to go back this year.

If you are after a basic holiday base then this could be your choice. We are a couple in early 30's, so a night out or two does the trick. The apartments are set in the middle of a massive complex of "two storey bungalows". Taxi rides to Playa del Ingles and beach are required as walking the distance is approx 30 mins. (Not very scenic either - main roads all the way) A taxi costs around 4 euros for the journey. Oh, and getting a taxi is not a problem. A visit to the Yumbo centre is a must.
The apartments themselves are what you would expect for this priced accommodation. Basic but adequate. Cleaned on a regular basis but not the most hygienic I have been to. Most apartments face onto the pool with small sun terrace. The pool is clean but quite shallow.
I think without the people we met at the apartments we would have been in Playa Del Ingles everyday. I am not a sunbather! The Pool Bar closes at around 7.30 - 8.30pm. There is little else to do around the apartments. Holiday World is about 10 mins walk away, but would only recommend this if really bored or can't be bothered taxiing somewhere.
All in all as I say a good basic accommodation recommended for the budget traveller.

We are a middle aged couple and we were looking for a quiet week of winter sun.
The Sun's Gardens contains 42, two floor apartments positioned around a central pool. 30 face towards the pool and 12 are back to back with pool facing apartments, but these 12 face due south so it's a nice sunny private spot.
We found the apartments to be basic but perfectly acceptable for a short break in the sun. Fridge, toaster, kettle and 2 ring glass topped cooker, mini safe, bath with shower. Maid cleaned and changed towels twice during our week. Our only misgiving were the beds, which were metal framed with slats and with a very light mattress. We found these quite uncomfortable.
The pool area has a small bar which serves a basic menu and is reasonably priced. There is a tiny shop which we only used for convenience/heavy items such as water, wine and bread.
An adjoining apartment complex (the turbo club) had a much better supermarket, so we used that mainly. It's a bit sad, but the lady on the bar/reception in the evening time was quite unfriendly and rude to us when we arrived and as a result we avoided the bar area as much as possible. (She must be in the wrong job because other guests said exactly the same of her). All the other staff were friendly and helpful.
The bar area did get a little loud and rowdy on one or two occasions, but that's all the luck of the draw.
HOWEVER ... our biggest disappointment was the whole Maspalomas/Campo International bungalow development. It is a huge featureless sprawl of bungalow complexes. The Sun's Gardens is just about the furthest from the sea or any amenities such as bars and restaurants. The whole area is criss crossed by quite busy roads, so don't expect a quiet romantic walk to the local restaurant. It's about 3 miles from the sea and slightly less into Playa del Ingles. If you don't mind getting taxis everywhere, then you'll be fine. On the plus side, there are hundreds of taxis buzzing around all the time. About 3 Euros into Playa del Ingles, 4 to the beach at Maspalomas.
Our favourite place was the stretch from the lighthouse at Maspalomas, Westwards along the promenade towards Melonaras. Much more civilized and suited to the middle aged couple that we are.
I hope this is useful, I've tried to be impartial and wish there had been a report like this when we were looking/booking our holiday.

Four Golfing ladies have just arrived home after a week in Suns gardens Apartments. Basic but very clean. Two towel changes a week and an almost daily clean and rubbish removal from our apartment made our hectic week a pleasure. The pool area was always immaculate and well cared for. Friendly staff all around, bar staff, gardeners, cleaners, with smiles and helpfulness beyond the call of duty.
An excellent service was offered.
Suns Gardens is well located re Golfing venues with easy access to motorways and local golf so near.
Local Market within easy walking and beaches a taxi ride away.
It was difficult to find Suns Gardens in a hire car from the airport in the dark, so we followed a taxi from a garage in front of the Mercadillo in San Fernando. EASY.

We found Suns Gardens to be very clean and well looked after. Nearly every property was occupied, yet the complex remained quiet. Being the week from 12th September there weren’t any screaming children. With the pool less than 10 yards from our front door it was very pleasant. Everything worked except the table lamp and that was soon mended when I told reception.
The only downside to the complex was its remoteness, a good hour’s walk from the beach. about 20 minutes to the bars and restaurants in the Faro 2 Centre. Taxis were plentiful and cheap, about €3 to go to Playa del Ingles or the Lighthouse at Maspalomas.
The nearby supermarket had reliable opening hours 8 am to 10pm and was good value.
Taxi to/from the airport about €35, though there is a number 66 bus for €2.60 but I never found where it stopped nearby.
Certainly not on my list of places I’ll never go again.
