We have stayed in los salmones last week (couple 25-30). I found the apartments very good. There was a huge range of people there of all ages. I was very wary having read previous reviews, however the apartments were very clean, not overly noisy and the stff were extremely friendly. we had no problem findind sun loungers and the pool was very clean. The apartments are very very central and close to the beach.I was delighted with our stay and would urge people to ignore the bad reviews, remember you are not paying for 5 star. For the price you pay los salmones is an excellant option and I would highly recommend it.

Good Cheap Hotel! Don't believe these reviews!

We got a really cheap deal with this hotel and just went for the self catering option. After reading reviews I was very much surprised when we got there and I couldn't fault it. Our room was very clean and the sheets etc where changed every other day. We didn't witness any cockroaches or ants and our cupboards, cooker etc were spotless so do not believe all these reviews. It was totally better than I had expected. The pool was clean and cleaned daily. The only fault I would say is that they need music on around the pool! The location is really good and I would definately stay in these apartments again!!

If you are going to Los Salmones and paying 24 euro per apartment (it means 8 euro per person per night), do not expect that it's gonna be 5 star hotel. You get what you pay and even more.
Remember it is an APPARTMENT, not a hotel which makes difference.
For such a cheap price it was brilliant. We had relatively clean room, clean towels and a perfect terrace.
I think it is a perfect place for a young party people!!
Really I would recommend it.

Booked this holiday on a low budget as have done so in the past but this hotel was horrendous! Floor was dirty when we walked on it, when we first arrived. Had requested a double bed and there were just single beds with paper thin mattresses. No airconditioning at all and had to hire a fan at an extra cost. Bathroom very dirty and overall room was dated and very dingy. Plugs didn't work and staff weren't helpful at all. One key per room only and had to hire safe at extra cost. Couldn't possibly stay so moved a few doors up to Green Fields which was excellent!

Los Salmones is a very low budget hotel, it needs alot of work done. The floor in our apartment clearly hadnt been mopped before we got there, so wear flip flops at all times. If you go out clubbing till the early hours this place is perfect, as most people get in around 4.30am. The complex is made up of 4 blocks and they allocate the rooms accordingly, so one block was for spanish, one for familes and the other two were for young groups. Please make sure you hire a safe as a few people got broken into whilst we were there, and on our last night somebody tried to get in our room-twice! Luckily we were in the room and they quickly vanished as soon as they heard us! If you go all inclusive dont expect fine dining. The breakfast is either continental or their version of full english(streaky bacon, scrambled eggs and beans), lunch is at the pool bar and that consists of either burger, hot dog, pizza, chips or salad! And dinner was varied each night, but if your a fussy eater or vegetarian you will struggle! There is always a meat dish, pasta, chips, veg and big salad bar. The all inclusive drinks are all local spirits, but BIG measures! Evening entertainment isnt every night, and isnt advertised anywhere, and it always seemed to start at 11pm, i think to keep the all inclusive residents at the bar spending money, as the all inclusive finishes at 11pm. There is no kettle in the room, but you can hire one from reception for a couple of euros. Be careful of the plug sockets, some are very lose in the room, we even managed to blow all the lights in the appartment! This was reported to reception, and he said nothing could be done until the morning! So we located the trip switch and fixed it ourselves! Also the sun loungers NEED to be reserved (with towels) before 9am, as there clearly isnt enough for the amount of people staying. All in all the hotel is what you pay for, if you want a base for your holiday is great, its within walking distance of the beach(2mins), the kasbah centre(bars and clubs 5 mins), irish centre(2mins) and the yumbo centre(gay centre 10-15mins). If like us (2 young women) you dont like to wander the streets at night taxis are easy to hail down and cost under 5 euros for most journeys.

Where do i start? We had a worm coming from our plug hole! My boyfriend awoke from the first night with him & his bed covered in ants! My friend had a cockroach in her bed! We were all inclusive & vertually had to beg to be served a drink......MARTIN the barman wanted to see your empty glass or he wouldn't serve you. And each person was only allowed to get 1 drink at a time which meant you couldn't get 1 for your partner. They would only have 1 person working the bar which meant serving drinks, serving food, cooking & waiting tables. Which left customers waiting!
Our towels in our rooms were taken to be washed and not replaced. We practically had to beg for more at reception! The floor in the room was filthy.
We only tried the food once & throughout the holiday we were all ill. 2 of our party were diagnosed with salmonella when we got home & had to take time off work.
We spent as much time out of this hell hole as possible during our stay. We named it "the salmon" because it stinks!
The resort was good but i strongly recommend paying that bit extra & staying somewhere else. I have never stayed anywhere like this before! We only wanted somewhere basic, clean & close to everything! BASIC is the only wish we got!
We would have had better service & treatment in prison!

Good Value

I booked a last minute holiday for myself and my daughter aged 19 and neice aged 11 through Teletext.
After I checked the reviews for these appartments I was absolutely dreading going away.
However please do not take the reviews as gospel.
There were a lot of families in the appartments and we were in block 2 and experienced no rowdiness from club 18-30's. Everyone we met were extremely polite.
The room was very basic and dated but clean enough. We did see cleaners and from what I saw they work extremely hard.
The food was acceptable there was nothing we could not eat and it was plentifull although lunch menu is very limited to Pizza hot dog burger chips and a small tuna salad. But if you wanted to pay you could choose something else.
Beware the bar clock is set 5 mins fast and under all inclusive they are very strict at charging you for your drinks after 11.
Entertainment is a waste of time we were there for a week and saw the snake show and the eagle show. Just selling photo opportunities!
There is no entertainment /organised activities at all during the day.
The wifi is very good as long as you stay in the bar area you can pay to use a PC there if required.
There is definately a shortage of sun beds and towels are always put down to reserve them (I suspect at night or they are left on the beds for the duration of a stay. The sunbeds are very hard and do not adjust so it is very uncomfortable if you want to read.
The Yumba centre is a 30 min walk from the appartments too long to walk in the heat of the day but there is a nice shopping centre if you walk straight from the appartments towards the sea. Never found out how you actually get on to the beach but it did not look very enticing anyway.
You need to ask to hire a TV and carry it to your room they are old and cumbersome and not worth the effort.
Balcony only has 2 chairs and a small table buthas a little dring area where you can air your towels/dry swim wear.
Overall we had a good time. Please do not be put off by the bad reviews I was pleasantly surprised after all I am a great believer in you get what you pay for.

When we arrived, we were given 1 key to our room. Upon enetring the room, we discovered that lightswitches and curtain rails were hanging off the walls as well as toothpaste on the sink and a smashed mirror in the bedroom. When we booked, on request we asked for a double bed, pool view or sea view. We were given neither and was told that no room in the appartments had double beds and that they were unaware that this was advertised on websites. However we were given another room out of a choice of 2 to pick to see which we prefered, these were not much different although clean. The appartment is situated in a great place, the people are friendly and nightlife is pretty good with plenty of pubs and restaurants. The pool wasn't very clean with black patches at the bottom of it (dirt). Basically you get what you pay for. When we first arrived we were in two minds as to what we thought. Overall had a really good holiday hovever, dont think we would stay again in this hotel. Reasonable for price though

Well after reading some of the reviews on here and already booked to go I was at the least a little aprehensive about staying here. These apartments are clean and very basic but for myself my husband and grandaughter they were just what we had paid for a cheap base. The apartments are very basic with no kettle or toaster and just 2 rings to cook on, but i took a cheap asda kettle with me and we ate out for the week. The apartment was cleaned and towels changed every other day. We didn't see any insects in the room whilst we stayed there but definatly pay for a safety deposit box.We drank in the bar few times prices were good, and there are mini golf 3 euros, tennis (not syre of price)and childrens playground available.
If you want good food at a reasonable price try turning left out of the hotel and go to Cheers, breakfast is 3 euros, pint is 1.50euros and dinner time they do a fab steak and a drink for 10euros can't be bad! We had a fab holiday and would definetly go back again, you get what you pay for if you want 5star pay 5star if you want a bargain holiday then this is the place for you.

Dont Believe the Bad Reviews

We have just returned from a 1 week holiday staying at Los Salmones over Xmas and New Year 09. Before we went we read many bad reviews on the hotel but I can assure you that this hotel is very clean and the food was nice.
We had all inclusive and the breakfast was options of english fry up or continental. Lunch was at the pool bar and was burger, pizza, chips or salad and the dinner every night was buffet and was always meat, fish, salad, veg. A really good choice for everyone.
The room was clean, the only issue was the single beds. But we managed ok! Our block did back onto the main road so we could hear the noise at night but we got used to it after a while.
The location is superb, walking distance to the beach and playa del ingles ammenities.
The staff were all lovely too.
