first of all this is no way a 4star hotel it should be rated a 2 star hotel no joke
we had gone on a 2 weeks all inclusive with 4 children and hated it our first time in our lives we wanted to go home straight away
hotels true ratings
bedrooms: cramped and not cleaned very nice and also the toilet leeks all the time
food: uncooked and very poor in taste and the choice as nothing reali to eat
all had stomach upsets and vomitting plus we meet other british their
complainin about stomach upsets as well, juice machines not working they
give warm juices out of them and pure more fizz than the actuall juice,
NO ENGLISH TEA just lemon, chaep plates and glasses
AND no way near nice food always uncooked turkey that eventually makes you
sick and theyll give you chiken afta 3-4 days and for breakfast they serve
no eggs only afta the odd 3rd day theyll give you a egg
cleaness: not hyginic inside looks very dirty walls look molded carpet disgusting
pool area dirty especially inside the pool,
these were all mentioned on their site that
they had
a heated pool never on , air condition they said not working its neva workin a worker told us, no mini firdge in the rooms they ask u to rent of them for £2 a day and also water you have to buy it outsid unless you have to come all the way downstairs just to get a drink of water, tennis no courts in sight, snooker charge 50p a game every game also charge you for a lot of games if you would like to play, no entertainment in the hotel durin the day and night
we meet alot of the locals taxi drivers who said this hotel we booked was the worst hotel to choose
my advise to evrybody families, couples ,singles that DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL YOU WILL REGERET IT. IT WILL BE A WASTE OF MONEY AND TIME
FAMILLIES MY ADVICE TO YOU IS THAT THIS HOTEL IS NO WAY A FAMILLY HOTEL THATS MY PROMISE

Having read the reviews of this hotel I was dubious about my holiday. However, my partner and I returned yesterday from a wonderful weeks holiday.
The hotel probably doesn't deserve the 4* rating probably more 3*. Some of the hotel looks a little tired and they should definitely sack the decorator (he seems to get more paint on the carpet / tiles than on the walls). Bathroom a little dated and could do with re-grouting. That aside the staff all very friendly and helpful. The whole hotel was very clean. Food OK. in am a vegetarian so did find it a little limited but still something for everyone.
Hotel right on the beach, pool lovely.
The all inclusive package was good, Basically food, Beer, wine - all day. Spirits and limited cocktails in the evening.
Entertainment OK. not the best.
If you fancy eating out then head to the Saloon Bar. (come out of the hotel and turn right, Top of the hill on the left) Biggest burger I have ever seen. Cost about £20.00 inc Bottle of wine and two main courses. (nice for a change from the hotel food)
Little train thing goes from Sousse town to port el Kantoi worth a go if you cant be bothered to haggle for a cab. Was 2.5 Dinar (£1.25) each to the port. Just flag it down out side the hotel. (runs about every 30 mins but not always on time).

As a regular pleasure traveler, the hotel isn't that bad but its worth 3and not 4stars.Astonishingly,everyone at the hotel had runing stomach which is very unusual. The state of hygien isn't uppermost but acceptable for a third world destination. The food is varied and one can always find a choice accept if you are there just for the food(we already have and eat enought good food in Europe).I was there for the sun and to disconnect from daily stress and depressive weather. The animation team was good but lack the means or infrastructure to amuse or animate the hotel. The pool area need some relooking and maintenance and the pool seats and beds are horrible wore out.the rooms are spacious and regularly but symbolically cleaned. The machines in the gym are completely obsolete. The destination itself is worth it.I WILL GIVE THE HOTEL A 65% PASS MARK

For all of you worried about the negative feedback on this hotel, then relax. It isn't a bad hotel at all. The hotel is very clean, all the public toilets have full time cleaners. the pool area is beautiful and immaculate right on the beach front and the sand is gorgeous. Our room was big and clean and the bathroom was fine, we had a very powerful shower that had endless amounts of hot water. The food was fine. I didn't find anything at breakfast that i liked. But there was always bread rolls if you were desperate. Lunch and dinner were great there was always a pasta station to fall back on if you didn't like the buffet. The Al a carte was lovely also. The only negative regarding the food is that it finished at 9pm so if you got hungry after that then you were a bit snookered. Also fresh water was hard to get a hold of. You cant drink the tap water and there was no fridge in the room so if you wanted water during the night then you would have to settle with warm bottled water that you had bought yourself. Entertainment was OK if that is what your into personally we didn't get involved with it much. Most of the guests at this hotel are French, German, Polish etc so if you like to go away to make friends then this probably isn't the best hotel for you. One last thing to mention is that this hotel a long with most in Tunisia i think is not very No Smoking Friendly. The only place that is no smoking is the buffet resteraunt. But like we were we told ' It is Africa'. Overall we had a brilliant time at this hotel.
Some other things to note, The pirate boat trip is a complete waste of money you just sit on the boat for 3 hours and you don't even get a transfer back to the hotel in the price you have to make you own way home, avoid like the plague. The camel trip is fine much better value for money but if you are an animal lover you may be upset by the condition of some of the animals. Also do not pay more than 2 dinar for a taxi to the medina. Taxis to and from the airport shouldnt be any more than 30 dinar. And Port el Kantoui is worth a visit. its lovely. Hope you enjoy your holiday.

Intial first impression good. Very large hotel caters very much for German and French tourists, though a fair few English were there. We were fully inclusive and the food though looked ok was more often that not luke warm. very little food was supplied between meals as an option of a snack compared to other fully inclusives I have been on. Be aware that they do water down the spirits quite drastically, diet coke is not supplied. Overall the hotel was very clean and amenities adequate. No facilities for disabled available i.e rooms with walk in showers. Would only suggest this hotel if you get it at a good price. We paid £300 for the weeks fully inclusive. It is quite centrally located and the beach front nice. A must is the 2 day Sahara Dessert trip if you want to feel like you've achieved something on this holiday, its excellent value for money. Be prepared to be hassled something chronic in the medina - very off putting. Been there, done that got the Tshirt!!!! Would not go back but glad I done it.

My first holiday abroad, and what can i say,,,,,,,,,,some of the other reviewers on this site must of been staying in a different hotel and NOT the riadh palms,,,,,,ok, the food was very repetitive, but all in all was ok, the rooms were kept spotless and the guys and girls who entertain you at the pool side during the day were hilairious, the main guy, (cant remember his name but he always wore an arsenal football shirt) was always up for a laugh, and would take great pleasure in pushing anyone into the pool (first making sure they could swim though of course) and the pool was thoroughly cleaned on a daily basis!
poolside food was always good, from local fish dishes to good old beef burgers and chicken done on the BBQ,
went to the medina, and thought it was good, just wasnt keen on the store owners/assistants dragging you every which way trying to coax you to buy stuff from their shops, loads of stuff to buy, all fake designer labels, but very cheap, and you can always barter on their prices, quite often knocking the prices down to under 1/2 of what they originally wanted for them.
if you go there, the one thing you DEFINATELY have got to try is the form of transport called the tuk-tuk taxis, 3 wheeler vehicles, able to seat 8 people + the driver, the guy that was driving the one we were in must of been tunisian grand prix driver, he thought he was driving a formula 1 car, very hair raising, but great fun, try and visit port El-Kantoui if you can,
I WOULD DEFINATELY GO AGAIN

Very good hotel with good views from the room balcony's. The rooms where a good size with a very clean bathroom.
I would advise you to eat out as it so cheap and the food in the hotel is the same thing everyday although it is very nice you soon get fed up with it. We ate out not realising how cheap it was going to be. You can feed the whole family for around 6 or 7 pounds and it is very nice and filling.
The pool area is very clean as it is cleaned every day. The beach is very nice and the hotel has beach security so you don't get hassled by the local traders.
The bar is not well stocked the only choice is wine, lager, vodka or whisky. The animation team are very friendly and a great laugh to watch, if you ever go watch out for Tigana on the animation team, you will soon know what I mean.
The locals are very friendly with english people and are glad to see you there and they don't like the germans and will share a joke about them with you. If you go into the market at first it seems a bit scary because there are small smelly alleyways but but the locals help you if your lost and protect you. Barter for everything I bought a football shirt he wanted 100dina I got it for 10!
Overall a great place to go and would definitely go again.

The Hotel lobby and the views were very nice. I have to say the food was...well not the best. It was pretty much the same stuff everyday which makes you dread having dinner after a while.
The pool was freezing cold (you'd think they would warm it up for the colder days, but no), so hardly anyone was brave enough to go for a swim, the entertainment people were not that good. We got quite bored in the evenings.
The hotel was packed with Germans, only met one English family, and the bar didn't have wide choice of drinks.
That said, it's Tunisia...so you can't really expect an awful lot. So much for a 4 star hotel!

Just returned from a two week holiday and wish I could have spent longer.
Hotel was clean (maybe in need of a little redecoration but clean nonetheless), staff were friendly and facilities good. Food was a bit repetitive towards the end but what else do you expect from an all-inclusive package?
Weather was ideal at this time of year. Hotel entertainment team were brilliant and know how to keep all ages entertained. I would personally go back.

We have been to Sousse almost 8 times and stayed at the Riadh palm twice including 10 days in Nov`08. For the price we paid (about £10 per night HB) you can not fault it.
Yes there are issues relating to service and general cleanliness which every 3/4 star hotel is faced up to, the over all holiday experience is absolutely marvelous.
Room facing the beach and palm trees, hot sun shine, lovely sand on clean beaches, friendly people, good food, slow and relaxed life. (Would you get any of this at all back in England and at the price - of course not)
So why not go there enjoy it while you can and make the most of it and stop moaning and complaining about petty things. So what if there are French, German and Russians staying at the Riadh Palm - they are decent enough people mostly aged and looking to have good time like me and you.
Please note that Tunisia is a Jewel in the Mediterranean Crown and an excellent place in the sun to visit with good respectable and friendly people. It is not part of the EU but is doing its utmost to welcome the people from the EU and doing a damn good job of it.
Our advise, dont listen to critics with high expectations, try it yourself and you will enjoy your stay at the Riadh Palm.
