I stayed only for one night because my flight home was the day after. I didn't expect for anything fancy from a two star hotel so I knew beforehand that maybe it wouldn't be squeaky clean. I was ready for a bad tv set, bad service etc. Well I can't say anything negative about the service, the receptionist was very polite and nice and every time I went out for a fag she smiled and greeted me (I don't know if you can smoke indoors, I like to go outside). My sheets were clean but the bed was horrible, the springs almost stood out and the pillow was worse sleeping on than a folded sweater. They had surveillance cameras on every hallway and in the staircase. I have seen worse carpets on 5 star hotels, maybe this one was more dirty, I didn't really go on all fours and check. I did check out the mattress though, both underneath and under the sheet for bedbugs, got a little paranoid when my dad mentioned that hotels with less than 3 stars usually have bed bugs, I found none and was not bitten. All I can say is that if you go to a two star hotel then you can't really complain, you go to a cheap and bad hotel because it IS cheap and BAD. It was ok for one night but I would not want to stay there longer.

I don’t think these other people was staying in the same hotel.
Yes it looks a bit run down from the outside but inside our room was lovely.
It was all clean the sheets etc had all been freshly but on.
The only complaint I have is the people working there. The guy that served breakfast was not very good at understanding English, but that was something we got used too.
They was very good in the hotel, letting us make a mess of the room and making as much noise as we liked, they even let us have an extension on the leaving time of the room.

The outside of the building tells you all you need to know about this establishment. It is run down shoddy dilapidated and dirty.
The rooms are a shambles the curtains or what passes as curtains are smelly and dirty and hanging off. The bathrooms, Yuk, are distasteful in the extreme. The shower trickles out, leaving you feeling less than refreshed.
The fact that the majority of the rooms are Smoking Rooms means that all your stuff smells if you leave it in the room. I left my clothes in the car it was that bad.
If the hotel has any redeeming factors, the breakfast isn’t bad, but, beware, it’s only served between 8am and 9.15 am and that includes Sundays!
The location of the hotel is good, it’s handy for the city centre, but it’s the same price as Premier Lodge in Charing Cross, which you could see from your hotel window if there wasn’t ten years of grime on them. Avoid this hotel like the plague, unless you're into squalor, and all the park benches and railway arches are full.
The really sad thing is this hotel has real potential, but it needs a fortune spending on it just to bring it up to any sort of standard, never mind any star rating.

The exterior of the hotel was very unwelcoming but the interior was worse. The decor was in desperate need of upgrading with pieces of broken furniture lying around the hallways. We turned up at 4pm and the room had not yet been cleaned.
The room was disgusting with a very smoky smell and you could hear everything from the rooms close by. the bed had been slept in and we suspected the bed would just be re-made rather than the sheets changed. We left after 5 minutes to look for somewhere else. Avoid this hotel!! The sign outside said 3 stars from Scottish Tourist Board - maybe 10 years ago!

Well, for £50 a night B&B, in the city centre, you can't go wrong. Our ground floor room was clean, a bit small and furniture a bit flat packy, but the shower was good, duvet clean and as many pillows as you wanted for the asking.
The curtains, well, we thought they were fab. Yes, upstairs was shabby chic and the restaurant decor was interesting, but the breakfast was good and filling (avoid the potato scone).
The breakfast staff were friendly and helpful as indeed were the reception team.
All in all, we liked it; we stayed 3 nights and would certainly go there again. It was great being able to walk into Sauchiehall Street and the all the bars in minutes. And probably best of all we parked outside the hotel for free on Saturday and Sunday.
