My partner and I spent 7 nights at Le Coco Beach Resort over Christmas and New Year and had the most amazing holiday. Our room had a stunning view over Palm Beach and was very comfortable and clean. The staff were simply fantastic and incredibly helpful and responsive to any requests. We have visited approximately 30 countries and we have never met a more wonderful or friendly group of people like the Mauritians.
There is so much to do at Le Coco. If you like lazing by the pool or beach, you will love this place. If you like a holiday with a bit more action, you will also love this place. We went water skiing, played tennis, table tennis, went sea kayaking and snorkelling. They also have a gym which was well equipped.
We hired a car through the hotel (Avis has a desk near reception) and the restaurant packed us a very nice lunch to take with us on our day trip. We also found ourselves an excellent tour guide in Curepipe who took us around for the whole day showing us the incredible sites in and around south and south-west Mauritius. Such an amazing holiday and Le Coco was a fantastic place to stay at with wonderful staff.
- Advice: Mauritius is an incredible holiday destination with wonderful people.
- Activities: The coloured earth, model ship workshop.

le coco beach has a lot to offer families who want activities during the day and night.
The food was out of this world, breakfast, lunch and dinner in the buffet resturant was cooked to the highest standards. the curries and asian food was cooked in front of you the crab curry being superb, however if plain and simple is your style every night a roast was on offer as well as italian, and the staff could not be more helpful.
The entertainment was basic and loud however it was aimed at younger people and children.
Being all inclusive the drinks were local and were to a good quality, the planters punch cocktail being a favorite.
We did not want the hussale and noise of the evening entertainment so each night we would head for the quite of the boat house bar and grill which was the Al a Carte resturant now for a supplement you could have the al a carte which i have to say the food was even better but what was good your drinks were still all inclusive.
The hotel is showing it,s age everything was clean, however our bathroom was less than acceptable with the grouting between the tiles being black, we were offered other rooms but they were the same.
We were disapointed with the Thomson rep she was only at our hotel twice the first week because we were the only customers and the second week twice, she also looked after the Hayes & Jarvis clients they seemed to get better service from her, we were told if we needed her to phone her that was going to cost 3.5 euros per minute.
Two things you must do when you go to Muaritius that is Walk with the lions at Casela an experiene you must have and the underwater walk with Aquaadventure both trips are superb.
Overall good value for money based on the fact that every thing is expensive and all inclusive is a must but if you like even more luxury and quitetness go for a higher star rated resort on saying all of the above it was overall excellent value for money for Mauritius

Myself and my wife got married at La Pirogue (see my other entry for that hotel) and finished off our 11 day holiday with 3 nights at Le Coco Beach.
To be honest we probably would have thought it great but having stayed at La Pirogue beforehand, there really was no comparison for us.
So to compare some aspects for those people considering both destinations...
The staff were younger and obviously far less experienced in giving the very best service. Sometimes a little half-hearted and nonchalant.
The food was okay but the variety and quality was a step down from La Pirogue
The hotel as a whole was very funky and aimed at people with families but it just seemed like an upmarket kind of butlins! I found it a bit tiresome. Tables in the restaurant all had plastic place mats that felt a bit sticky - like they were catering more for the kids than the adults. I know which place our kids would have preferred to stay!
The rooms were bigger than La Pirogue but we may have had an upgraded room as part of our package, we're not sure.
The watersports were more accessible at La Pirogue but the beaches at Le Coco Beach were arguably more interesting (three different coves). The snorkelling at Le Coco Beach was much richer with Angel fish etc. inhabiting coral just 10ft from the water’s edge.
Overall, not a place I'd like to return to but if you like what you see in the brochure and it is just like it is depicted, you probably won't be disappointed. For us, we wanted a bit more class for our £1500 or so each!
Hope that helps.

What a fantastic hotel. We got married here. The staff were amazing, professional, and very hard working. We were a little worried about the weather as we went towards the end of winter but it was great, not too hot.
We stopped all inclusive and because there is half board we had to sign for everything which did become a little tedious towards the end. Maybe a wrist band would be more suited, would save the environment.
The food was good always hot and a good variety. The Boat house restaurant, which is not all inclusive was great, very reasonably priced and you receive 400 rupees towards it as part of all incl.
We were upgraded to a superior villa as we were getting married. These were a fair walk away (we stopped in room 806) so away from hustle and bustle. Rooms were cleaned to a high standard everyday and mini bar re stocked every morning.
The pool was clean and plenty of beds etc, although might be different in the height of summer. Beaches are beautiful and not too many people trying to sell you stuff.
We went on a couple of trips, did an undersea walk and a paraglide.
The only downside was the entertainment. We chose le coco as we thought it would be the liveliest, again I’m not sure if it was because it was winter and the hotel wasn't booked up but it wasn't very entertaining and most nights had ended before 9.30 pm.
Other than this it was a very memorable experience and we would definitely love to return to Mauritius in the future.

We went for 16 days, and this was a fantastic holiday. plenty of beaches which get full by 10.30 but by 13.00 you have the beach to yourself, staff are great and will do anything they can to help you. Hotel is very clean and tidy, rooms done every day. Would recommend this to anybody.
Sorry but now the down side that made this 9 out of 10,
Food is not the greatest and tends to be the same over and over.
Beach hawkers are mostly ok but you get the odd one that won’t leave you alone.
We were all inclusive but you still have to sign for everything even if it is a bottle of water, this can become a bit of a pain in the neck after a while.

This place is fantastic!
We got married here and took 6 adults with us on this 2 week break.
The staff could not do enough for you - especially the waiters in the main disco bar who kept the drinks flowing all evening!
Food was excellent, lots of choice at breakfast, lunch and dinner of all varieties, fish, meats, Chinese, Indian, salads, pizza, pasta etc etc
The Beach House restaurant is not included in all inclusive - however they do a Seafood BBQ twice a week which I think is about £30 each - it is well worth it.
ou receive a 4 course meal with all the seafood being cooked in front of you! Oysters delicious - we had our wedding meal here and the view is just beautiful.
The wedding itself could not have gone better and all the things I worried about beforehand were taken care of for me!!
Word of advice re: currency - take rupees for hotel and tipping etc and dollars for excursions - we did quad biking and dolphin catamaran which were great value. Ille des cocos wasn’t!
Weather was excellent when we went too - a light breeze some days but we all got a lovely tan.

Our part of four (three adults one child of six) visited Le Coco Beach, Mauritius, recently. What a bad experience!! Below the details:
A. Sleeping arrangements not prepared for three occupants
Our party consisted of three adults and one child age 6. The request was that the child shares a room with two adults as the third adult occupies a room on its own – this is apparent as an individual supplement was paid for one adult. On arrival there was no third bed for the child. On request there appeared confusion on the side of the resort personnel – a bed base eventually arrived.
B. Bed base in poor condition
The upholstery was torn at both ends of the bed base. Further to this, only on the third day was a bedspread provided.
C. Counter top damaged
The melamine was peeling of leaving the pressed wood exposed and splintering off.
D. Cupboard doors
The cupboard in one room had no doors – after enquiry into this it was stated that the room that did have doors (the room occupied by the one adult), was an “example room”. Clearly this is misleading if used for marketing or other purposes?
E. Bathroom
Only one small bar of soap was available – a larger one for the bath/shower was eventually provided on request as well as additional towels for the third occupant.
F. Air-conditioning
Despite being dirty and rusty on the exterior, these units were noisy and in poor working order, viz. fan speed on one unit could only be regulated by means of inserting a sharp pointed object (a pocket knife in this instance) into the switch. The other unit’s thermostat remained at one temperature despite preferring higher settings.
G. Poolside equipment
Sunbed mattresses were tattered and torn (unfortunately no images are available as at that time we were too in a hurry to book out of the hotel). The majority of these were in a bad condition. These were neither cleaned (just a wipe-off even) for the next day’s use by another customer – emphasis on hygiene should be considered.
H. Room service
There is none. Not a pre-requisite for our party but most probably for some. Light meals ordered at the poolside bar are put into polystyrene containers for one to enjoy in your room. Room service would have been nice as the weather was very windy during our stay and poolside dining was unpleasant.
I. Dining room service
Used dining equipment such as plates and utensils were slow to be removed – we ended up placing them on adjacent empty tables.
J. Dining utensils
Unfortunately no images are available as at that time we were too in a hurry to book out of the hotel. All white coloured plates were badly scratched and marked due to scouring – surely these can be replaced? Glasses and carafes were a mixture of both glass and plastic (no, not the ones for kids, but for adults!).
K. Availability of consumables
The acclaim to ice-cream being available (all inclusive package) is sporadic – on occasion ice cream was not available until 12h00. Choice was limited to only vanilla or chocolate – a misnomer for the “all inclusive” package in terms of slowly chipping away on the value for money issue.
L. ISO accreditation
This hotel boasts ISO accreditation. Surely with the poor condition of equipment, late arrival of stock (e.g., ice-cream; ISO requires amongst things, processes and standards linked to stock taking and replenishment), slow or no service, poor condition of room furniture and furniture standards not being the same, its ISO accreditation needs to be removed.
As being involved with ISO methodology ourselves, we will subsequently request the ISO authorities to do an audit to determine Le Coco compliance. Rumour has it that Le Coco is soon to be totally revamped – surely this is no reason for quality and service to be compromised for existing clients.
M. The reason for our complaints is not from being purely difficult – it rests in two beliefs. Firstly, that we expect the same standard or better that we experience in our own home, i.e., my own dining and pool equipment, furniture and air-conditioning (yes, I have two units in my home) is of better standard/condition than that of my destination accommodation (in this case Le Coco). We would welcome you to inspect the condition of our own home and its contents.
Secondly, value for money is at stake – what we pay for is not reflected in the price. We are of the opinion that the “all inclusive” package is a way to attract clients but fails to deliver in all round quality and good standard.
Le Coco is branded as being a family resort which is totally acceptable but being a family resort does not imply that quality and general conditions must be of poor standard.

What a fantastic holiday - the friendliest, happiest hotel I've ever been too!
We went to Mauritius at the end of their winter so were a little apprehensive about the weather, however we needn't have worried, the temperature was lovely, just right and tanning was easy - although the pool was a little cold!
The place is very bright and popular with families so we were warned by our tour operator it would be very noisy, however going in term time we had no problems what so ever, only a few younger children, and being so far away and a long flight I guess not many parents of toddlers were willing to risk it! We asked for a quiet room and it was fine.
We choose a larger resort because of all the facilities available, lots of included free activities and we made the most of them. Tennis, 9 hole golf (1st hole a water hazard killer! but the greens were amazingly well kept) water skiing, snorkeling and lots of water stuff. We also paid for a private scuba diving lesson and sea dive which was great fun and quite reasonably priced. The gym was also well maintained and plenty of good equipment. A massage was also professional (although extra). Also a good games room with air hockey, pool, fuse ball etc.
Food was great, lots of variety, with quite a strong Asian feel, but pizza, pasta and roasts available for the less adventurous, although a little confusing to start with as you have to sign for every meal/drink - even though all inclusive so was worth double checking everything until you got the hang of it.
Make sure you do an Island tour, lots to see from Tea/sugar plantations to some waterfalls, giant tortoises and great beaches. The connections tour we did was very reasonably priced with food in a great restaurant.
A great place, highly recommended!

When I first arrived my first impression was GOD this is BRIGHT paintwork. I got married here and the staff bent over backwards for us. Fruit baskets, champagne swan towels rose petals on the bed, birthday cakes for my mum in law.
The beach and sea was amazing there is a reef for snorkelling which the equipment is free. There was also small sailing boats, pedaloes, kayaks, and wind surfing which were included in AI package. A free scuba dive lesson in the pool and a free water ski lesson. Me and my husband was also taken out in one of the water ski speed boats for a ride up the coast free of charge.
The food was excellent they had one buffet style restaurant which was open for breakfast lunch and dinner , in the evenings this was a right feast, foods such as pasta pizza, Chinese dishes, fish dishes, carved fish and meats potatoes rice’s loads of curries and curried veg about 10 homemade chutney's and naan breads etc. loads of vegetarian dishes , salads . one night there was aromatic duck.........need i say more. There was also a pool side snack bar which served fresh made pizza, salads, chicken kebabs, burger fries and desserts.
There was also the boathouse restaurant which was ala carte it was free in the day and included sirloin steak or white tuna steak, at night you had to book and pay to dine here, i dinned here there times lobster was amazing.
Drinks were locally produced spirits, house wine by the carafe or glass, local larger which was good and some cocktails as part of the AI package branded spirits and some cocktails where charged as extra and not cheap.... £5 for a Bacardi. Give the waiter a small tip for the first couple of nights and you will get a repeat drinks order without even opening your mouth....this is only ok if you want the same drink again.
Our accommodation was ok, we was upgraded to a villa with sea view and balcony as part of our wedding package free. mini bar with water and larger, coca cola, sprite and fanta kit kats and crisps for free as part of our AI package and refilled everyday. Hairdryer and TV. our room was cleaned everyday and fresh towels. An ironing board n iron was available free at just a call to reception.
The wedding was stress free my coordinator did all the work so i could relax, i could recommend it to anyone who doesn't want alot of stress.
I would definitely like to visit le coco beach again.

We've spent several holidays at Le CoCo Beach and each one has been fantastic. The last time we took our grand-daughter who was age 4 at the time and she loved it. It's good for families and couples. The reef is good with lots of tropical fishes to be seen when snorkelling. The food is also good, and there is a terrific local restaurant nearby if you want something different and special. I can'r recommend it enough, and after the refusbishments have been completed we'll certainly be going back there.
