Britannia Aberdeen Hotel

Despite reading all the reviews and dreading a stay, we had a great time over Hogmanay. The hotel was clean, warm and reasonably smart. The staff were pleasant, helpful and did their jobs well. Our room was quite large, comfortable and reasonably well appointed, the bathroom spotless, and everything worked well. The only down points were the somewhat limited TV choice - 6 channels, and some noise from the lift. It was quite a walk to reception, but the lift worked well and I have had longer walks. All right, it was Hogmanay, and the hotel was full of revellers, but not one seemed disappointed, and those on our trip were generally complimentary. We did not eat in the restaurant, but en masse in a meeting room, and I was very pleased by the quality of food and the table service, better than many places I have been in. In all a very enjoyable stay, and it may be that the adverse comments have had a good effect. I would certainly go back for a similar break.
