We stayed in the Lodges which are run by the Marriott hotel and are situated on their grounds. As such, you are able to use the hotels facilities (swimming pool, gym, restaurant, etc). The lodges were self catering although there are shops and butchers nearby where you can... more

It's nice to be able to stay in a hotel you know is going to be good quality. Not outstanding, or amazing but good, friendly service and everything is as it should be. Aberdeen itself has a different feel to alot of other cities, granite dominates the skyline and oil work... more

Great hotel but could do with some work
I visited the hotel in feb 2006. The hotel is not much to look at from the outside but inside it is lovely. The rooms were nice and large but a little on the cold side. The heating system was air-conditioning set to either hot or cold air but this was so noisy we had to turn the television up.! The leisure facilities were nice enough but the pool is really just for playing about in and 8 strokes takes you from one side to the other. The food was really nice but beware of extras. We were on a DBB basis so we presumed that we would have nothing to pay for except drinks. Not so. Included in the dinner is just 2 courses ie. starter and main or main and desert. We were not told this until an extra £15 appeared on our bill.!We never heard anyone else being told this either so no wonder the Marriott group makes money. In the room the teacups were not cleaned overnight and the facilities wer not re-stocked. Overall this is a nice hotel but I think it could do with a good shake-up and some of the finer details ironed out. These are the things that make your break extra special and we were a little let down by this.!
A big chain hotel with a homely atmosphere!
Maybe its the small town atmosphere ( the hotel is located on the outskirts of the city) or the compact nature of the building but this hotel managed to provide a level of service that belied its big chain label. I stayed at this hotel on an overnight trip and found the accomodation to be very clean and well maintained. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and seemed happy to be of service and not in the sometimes "forced" way that can be evident in other hotels. Overall I was very happy with the Marriot experience and I would definately stay at this hotel again.
Superb hotel
Superb hotel, rooms, breakfast and facilities, what else can I say? It is a few miles from the city centre but well placed for the airport. I would suggest an outward facing room as some look directly onto the dining area or swimming pool and don't leave much to the imagination.
Room very clean and comfortable
We got a great deal through a VISA promotion booked through marriott, so we feel that we got good value for money. The location is great, if you have a car and are using Aberdeen as a base to explore the surrounding area (e.g. Castle Trail). It is way out by the airport. As North American tourists, it was nice to stay there because it felt "North American" - spacious room, bright lights, big bathroom, etc. We were originally staying there for 3 nights, but extended our stay. It was nice to come "home" to, after a busy day of touring. The only negative was that the breakfast service was slow, and they seem to have a problem with their dishwasher!
An oasis of comfort
This is a great hotel for a weary traveller. The two dining rooms offer a variety fare, the rooms are very comfortable and the fitness facility, including pool, is excellent. Transportaion to the airport is efficient. Great value!
Very comfortable and friendly
This has some of the most comfortable beds ever. It resembles a US motel from outside but is very clean and the staff are extremely friendly. I stay here regularly and notice that they have a very low turnover of staff and it makes for a very personalised experience. The only criticism is that the gym is very hot as it's by the pool and the wine in the bar is stupidly expensive. Overall though it's well worth a look in and the breakfast, although expensive if not included, is first class.
Fab weekend
Had a great weekend at this hotel - best so far in Aberdeen!! Lovely rooms and leisure facilities - stayed here with grandchildren who enjoyed the pool. Ate in the bar as felt the resturant was a bit expensive but no complaints with the food - good variety for breakfast and very pleasent waitress - nothing was a problem. Will stay here again and rate was very good especially when staying with children.
good value
Got a late deal at a weekend here and thought it was good value. Hotel does not look great from outside but inside it is fine. Staff very helpful and friendly and pool suited our 5 year old perfectly. Breakfast also excellent and no hesitation recommending the hotel to others. Dinner not cheap so go for dinner included package if you can get it.
Standard Marriott, but Scottish Charm
My company are regular users of the Marriott in Aberdeen and it's the best that the Airport has to offer, if not the city. It's had a few names over the years, Holiday Inn before the Marriott brand was taken over (I seem to remember!). The bar staff are very friendly and everyone else is generally very helpful - which is good and makes it a bit of a home from home. The only thing is it's very popular with the local companies and the airlines so it tends to fill up early - book as soon as you can is the message!
