We have just came back from Bulgaria hotel Yavor after 2 weeks. The hotel was very nice and all the staff were very friendly and spoke quite a lot of English.
The food was ok, there was a lot of different things to choose from and always something for the children. The rooms where very clean with the cleaners coming in every day. Although beer is cheap about £1-£1.30 not everything is as cheap as you might think. There are loads of shops and restaurants/pubs, but they are quite similar.
The hotel is central to everything but not too near to keep you awake at night. The only thing lacking about the hotel is there is no entertainment day or night apart from the swimming pool or pool table. But it has a nice atmosphere and when we where there most people where British and a lot of families. I would recommend this hotel.

Was there last Sept for 2 weeks and going this year in August for 2 weeks, room was spot on and hotel very clean, staff helpful, top marks go to Cissy in bar 10/10.
Just round corner from centre of resort and all the nightlife, only one complaint though, some English there who thought that everyone in Bulgaria should speak English (get a life) hope there aren’t any there when I go in august, roll on 14th!

When arriving to the hotel I didn't know what to expect because, I had read some good and some bad reviews on hotel Yavor palace. However, upon entering the hotel I was impressed at how clean everything was, and the staff looked happy and welcoming (even though it was 4 or 5 in the morning!)
There were 12 of us with 2 in 6 rooms so we had a wide cover of the top floor of the hotel, there was a funny smell in our room and some of the others, but we opened the door and let the room air which did the trick perfectly. The room was very nice, not too small and the fridge was very useful over the holiday. The shower and toilet facilities where also of a high standard, the balcony outside our room was also a nice place to relax and take in the general hustle and bustle of sunny beach.
The food was very varied both at breakfast and dinner, if personally enjoyed most of what they had to offer, which ranged from traditional Bulgarian food to your typical chips and burgers. Some of our group weren't too impressed with the food although I think this was mainly due to fussiness rather than poor quality.
The surrounding area is brilliant, with loads and loads of bars, clubs and restaurants to take your fancy, I would recommend eating out some time as the food is very cheap and delicious.
Nessebar is an old medieval island that is definitely worth a look if you want to see something that was built more than 20 years ago. The restaurants here are amazing. Pub and Pizza Ponko served amazing Bulgarian/Italian style pizzas and pasta dishes.
The beach is very clean, and you can go a long way out without it getting deep so hiring a pedalo was great fun.
The weather there can get extremely hot, unfortunately the weather did break on a few occasions, which was disappointing considering that the previous week was baking hot. It is however, very unlikely that you will see a rainy day if you go between July and August.
Overall I very much enjoyed this holiday and if I was the type of person to go back to somewhere I had been previously, sunny beach was definitely worth going back to, the night life was great and day time holds much to do also. A week was not long enough for me.

Just arrived back on the 1st July 06 from the Yavor palace hotel in Sunny Beach, what a fantastic place this is, our first visit to Bulgaria and indeed Sunny Beach. The hotel is basic in decor and rooms but it is spotless!! Sky TV, Fridge and an actual working hairdryer in the rooms!! Beautiful pool view rooms and no bugs.
We enjoyed a week at the Yavor and breakfast catered for everyone from cereal and toast to salad and full cooked some thing for everyone!! Evening meals much the same pasta, rice salads, chicken, kebabs average but much nicer and cheaper to eat out at the local bars and restaurants over 200 to choose from. Highly recommend the kebab style bars that cook on the outdoor bbq's. There were 7 of us 4 adults and 3 kids and we would have a few rounds of drinks, starters, mains and kids having desserts and us coffees and liquors and the bill would come to 90-100 lev (£35-£40) that’s for all of us.
The hotel is very central and you couldn’t be better placed, away from the noise of the bars but a short step from the restaurants, only about 50 yards.
The beach only 100 yards away is beautiful and safe for the kids as there is no wash or tide and is lovely and clean. Watch out for the bed and brolly people as they charge around 18 lev (£7.20) for 2 beds and a brolly so if you like sand take a lilo or a towel!!
Overall thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Sunny beach and cannot wait to book again for next year!! Start saving now as still getting over the shock of all day and night shopping.Especially with Mr Paul Davies.! Boy that man can shop.!
Go on book yourself a holiday in Sunny Beach you wont be disappointed.

First impressions of the hotel were positive, our room wasn’t the largest but was a comfortable size and had all the amenities we required. Air con wasn't working however and I could imagine it being very uncomfortable in the summer with the higher temps.
The food the first week was varied and all cooked to a reasonable standard, with plenty of main courses to choose from at the buffet style restaurant. The second week however was the complete opposite, with the food being bland and lacking in any inspiration. We opted to eat out and were shocked at just how cheap it was, around £12, 25-30 Leva for a decent meal and a couple of drinks.
The pool was central to the hotel and was of a decent size, was still warming up when we were there which made it ideal for a quick dip to cool down. Shame about the number of ignorant Brits taking up all the sun loungers, meaning if you got there after 10.30am you had to pounce on the one or two scattered around.
I would strongly recommend going self catering or at most B+B, the money you'll save will pay for some great food out and about.
For days and or nights out, Aqua Paradise water park was a good day out, and Khan's Tent was an un-missable evening.
I'd be happy to travel back to Bulgaria and to Sunny beach but would go for a 4* hotel instead.

This is one hotel I will not be going back to. The hotel because it is a 2 star not 3. Location, spot on. Staff, spot on. Rooms, rubbish.
Food is at best canteen food. Same every night. Cant believe people queued up every night and day for it. Eat out its so cheap you wont believe.
Would go back but not Yavor .eat at condor a few hindered yards on right. Watch out for gypsies begging, selling fruit.
Don’t cash euros in hotel go to crown next to Kuban I got an extra 14 leves for 70 euros.

I went to the Yavor Palace hotel on the 2nd June 2006. I was pleasantly surprised when we arrived.
The hotel staff were very nice and the rooms were lovely and clean. There was a fridge and a hairdryer also a TV. The room was very spacious and the bathroom was a decent size. This is the first time I have been to Bulgaria, I loved it.
The food was excellent. I am a very fussy eater but I ate everything they cooked in the hotel, try the potatoes, they are the best I have ever tasted! I am hoping to go back to the same hotel in September, I also met some really nice people there and we are arranging to go back in may next year.

Just come back from a two week stay at the Yavor Palace Hotel in Sunny Beach.
Had a great time, if you go please say hello to Peter at the pool bar from us, he’s a lovely lad, although he speaks good English he needs to practice, so it would be great if you could spend a bit of your time talking to him. Try and take small denominations in Levs as the staff are not given floats so don’t have change.
We had no problems with the food, they have had an English consultant chef out there to get tings right, we could always find something that took our fancy. The staff are very good, rooms clean, and the drinks at the hotel are cheep as long as you stick to the Bulgarian drinks, try the Bulgarian brandy better than any of the French cognacs. Love the Bulgarians love Bulgaria, we're going again as soon as we can.

Just returned from Yavor Palace, stayed for one week Half Board. The food was excellent, really varied and plenty of choice.
The hotel was immaculate and the standard of service excellent. The location was great, close to the centre but none of the associated problems you usually get. I could not recommend this hotel enough.
The only drawback was the huge number of Scots who moaned about everything and sat around the pool each day gorging on McDonalds.

Sunny Beach is a great place for cheap beer, clothes and meals. I didn’t expect to see how commercialised it was. When you think you have seen all of sunny beach you find another corner with plenty more shops, bars and restaurants. The atmosphere is brill. I would advise ladies to hold onto your man as mine nipped to the toilet only to be propositioned by a call girl and when he went to the bank later that evening as well. Another annoying thing is all the strip club flyers they hand out. They don’t care if you are joined at the hip with your man, they will still hand them an erotic flyer, the place is full of erotic clubs. Other than that fantastic place. The hotel Yavor palace is not so good. The breakfast was greasy so we eat out on a morning and the evening meals were the same every night. To say we spent a total of £1.000 for one week for two H.B I would have expected a little better food. Plus the customer service you receive is not with a smile. I have stayed in 3* plus hotels before so I am not a snob, but this hotel is not a patch on them. I must say I am very disappointed with this hotel it ruined my holiday.

Just back from 2 weeks stay at Yavor palace, very clean hotel, good selection of food, lovely pool, my only problem would be no entertainment at hotel.
Would recommend Yavor to stay, because its near everything, yet away from the noise.
One other thing nobody warned us about were mosquitoes, there were 50 of us went on holiday together, and we were bitten quite a bit.
Loved sunny beach would go back but would make sure I had protection against mosquitoes.
