Well for starters I wouldn’t feed the food to my dog! Had an ant infestation in our room 3 times in one day, after each time the staff claiming they had been sprayed. We moved rooms, to find earwigs in one of the beds and a spider in between them.
When we moved for the 3rd time, the room was okay and we didn’t see one bug, thank god!
The reps were really nice and friendly and very helpful to us whenever we had a problem. The reception staff and porters were very friendly and also a good laugh.
For anyone going with First Choice I would recommend the reps cabaret and the bar crawl!
We could rarely get a sun lounger at our own pool despite being up early as people had towels down even though it is supposedly not allowed, nothing seems to be done about it when it is, so most days we paid 5 lev to sunbathe at the neighbouring Kuban hotel.
Had a great holiday apart from the food and our six legged problems but I would recommend it!

Stayed at Yavor Hotel beginning of June, hotel staff were very friendly, very clean always someone cleaning.
Rooms done every day our maid was very nice even folding clothes.
Only disappointment was the food but it was cheap to eat out. Very central but constantly pestered by touts trying to get you into bars and restaurants, apart from this it is a nice resort, great beach.
There are so many streets we were still discovering new ones on the day we left. We hired a mini bus drivers name was Mikal, he took us to his home town in the country, we had nearly 2 hours there, called at a pavement cafe had 3 espresso coffees, pint of lager, 2 bottles of coke bill came to 7 levas approx. £2.50, afterwards took us to a Bulgarian village where we had bean soup, salad fresh bread and national drink raki all for 2levas each.
We were away for nearly 6 hours and only cost 20 levas, £7 per head, really good value. Would consider going back to same hotel if something could be done to stop touts on streets.

First impressions to this hotel are not great but as soon as we woke up after arriving we realised there was more to it. We read all the reviews before we went and they were not good! The food is nice (the same as any foreign resort) you can’t be fussy on holiday, the place was so clean, and everyone was very helpful. We don’t usually go to welcome meetings but as Bulgaria was new to us we did and in any other hotel the reps are quite stuck up and not helpful but our reps were the best ever! They told us to go on the bar crawl the first night it’s a great way to meet people they said. It was great, people went from all ages 20 - 55, we met some great people there. Our reps looked after us the whole holiday making sure we were safe. The only lazy thing we wanted to do was go up in the lift, but it’s very small so get fit and use the stairs! The pool is a good size very family orientated; no rush to get a sun bed, the pool side bar does good food to. The rooms had more than enough space for me and my boyfriend, lovely bathroom and mini fridge, def pay for a pool side balcony or you will get a view of the erotic bar, but it’s not what people say, it’s the back entrance to a adult bar, it’s not like you see anything! We are off again in August to the same hotel, we had a fab time!

Yavor Palace is a perfect hotel but it can be spoilt by other people. The food was excellent and the cleaners were in the rooms cleaning every day.
The pool was nice but it was cold for most of the day, the paths were bad as you could trip over.
There was not a lot of places open, there was a lot of cheep stuff e.g. Clothes toys. The reps done as much as they could to stop arguments and done a good job of it.

We went with First Choice 7th May 2007. Hotel very nice, but big problem with noise!
Hotel rooms are very close together, you can hear people speaking in the next room! First choice reps not willing to control noise situation, and hotel seemed to think it was ok for a group of hooligans to spoil everyone else’s holiday.
You are driven almost to insanity with the touts trying to drag you into the restaurants, and there are beggars everywhere, although the resort is very clean, the footpaths are dangerous.
Toilets are charged for 0.25-.-0.50 lev.
Try The Condor on the main road, the food is excellent, and the drink very cheap, staff are friendly, and the loo is 0.20lev!
We went on a jeep safari; it was an excellent day out.
Nessebar is beautiful, and only a short trip by bus (10mins.), or about 20m minutes by boat.
Bus 0.80 lev, boat 15levs each. Didn't think much of Bourgas.
Don't change money on the streets, apparently it is fake, and you wouldn’t know, as they look strange to us anyway!
We won't be returning, holiday spoilt by others at hotel.

Although this is not the best hotel in the resort it is still quite nice.
The staff were as friendly, as any other hotel staff that can’t speak English and unless you have paid a fortune. It is a good place to base yourself.
I would never rely on a hotel for all meals as it is a fantastic place to explore the vast amount of restaurants that are really cheap.
There is a great little water park right next door to the hotel, although you have to pay each day you use it, it is great value and our kids loved it making lots of friends, they are still in touch with a year on.

Went to the Yavor for the first 2 weeks leaving end of August. Found the hotel not too bad food was a bit on the dodgy side in the restaurant but you can eat out cheap enough. We ate chips when they were available every 2nd night & the ice cream was delicious.
Found the staff friendly enough they seemed to be helpful.
Maids cleaned the room everyday & my daughter seemed too like them was always getting sweets from them. Towels and bedding were changed regularly.
Hotel was clean enough but we did find that the carpet outside the bathroom door got wet after having a shower and the room door didn’t close properly unless locked (room 118).
Hotel was close enough to the beach, shops, pub & clubs. Found it hard to spend money as everything was very cheap. Tips: Give a tip to staff in pubs as when you get served the next time you will get a bigger measure & usually free drinks by end of night.
Pool was very cold & could be hard to get a sunbed due to people reserving them even though there were signs saying not too. Staff did enforce no pool use after a certain time as some of our party & friends we made in the hotel were penalised for doing this in middle of night after coming back from drinking/partying sessions.
Watch out for beggars & prostitutes they would come up offering their services to men even in company and with children around.
Only use crown booths for exchange as others will rip you off. I found that withdrawing cash from ATMs gave me a better exchange rate though than currency exchanges over there and back home. Will get more Lev there than here for your money though.
Pay for a room with a view or you will be looking on to a back street & strip joints!
Will go back to Sunny beach might even use the Yavor again as the location was good.

The apartments were new last year.
The rooms were fantastic there was lots of space. It was very clean. The maids were great; they made us different animals out of our clean towels.
The pool was lovely, very clean. The staff was very friendly.
You had to cross a busy main road though to get to the main part, which could be a task in itself as they don’t stop for you to cross.
Highly recommended.

We had a week in the Yavor Palace and really enjoyed ourselves.
Food was fine, a lot of choice, and we did eat out as well as it was so inexpensive.
Hotel was clean, staff were friendly The only gripe was the holiday rep, charm and smiles were not her strong point and wouldn’t dream of putting herself out to help.
Going back again in June for 2 weeks this time.

Went to the Yavor Palace with my husband and two children - 6yrs & 13yrs and would highly recommend it.
There was always something for everyone to eat; the food was varied with breakfast having a choice of fruit, bread, cheese, cold meats, juice and the usual ''English breakfast''. The evening meal was casseroles, salads, cooked meats, soup, bread, various vegetables, cakes, fruit and various ice creams.
This is the third time we have visited Bulgaria and would recommend this hotel above the Globus, which although this is rated a 5 star we all ended up with the trots here but nothing like that at the Yavor Palace, not one of us had an upset stomach for the 2 weeks we stayed here.
The rooms are basic but clean. The shower is massive and powerful with a hairdryer in the bathroom. The fridge is great for keeping your bottled water in, as I would not drink the tap water here as this is recommended by the holiday reps.
The maids come in every day to make your beds and change your towels three times a week but if you leave the wet towels outside the bathroom you will get fresh ones every day. The only down side to the rooms was the smell in the bathroom from the pipes but you get used to it after a while.
The hotel staff are not the happiest, but will always help you when they can.
The pool was too busy for me. I felt that the rule of no swimming after 6pm was ever enforced as children and adults would be in it till late at night without any lifeguard.
We would rather go to the beautiful clean beach which is only 5 minutes walk from the hotel.
Take plenty of insect repellent as the mosquitoes love eating you alive.
Bulgaria itself is a beautiful country with a visit to the old town of nessebar well worth the 15 minute journey by bus.
Eating out is so cheap with a good variety of bars and restaurants to choose from. We loved the de la mar which is below the Alba hotel, a 2 minute walk from the Yavor. The children loved the ice cream sundaes which were enormous with none costing any more than 6 lev.
A great centrally located hotel which we have booked to go back to in July 2007. So if you are looking for a clean hotel with good food then this is the hotel for you.

We went to Bulgaria for a week at the end of august. The hotel was always clean and tidy and the room cleaned every day. You had to be about early to get a sun lounger but that wasn’t a problem.
The pool was clean, the staff are friendly. We went b&b the food was ok if you don’t expect too much, especially for the price of the holiday. We have 2 kids aged 13 and 9 they both enjoyed themselves. Sunny Beach itself is commercialised but Nessebar is nice.
There are plenty of places to eat and drink and very cheap. Would recommend it. We have booked to go back next year.

I thought that the hotel was really nice to begin and the staff were all very helpful and polite, if you had a problem they would fix it.
The pool was cold but cold is better than warm in Bulgaria, and people complain that the pool is cold but if it was hot they would still complain, but it was nice.
It is pretty cheap out in Bulgaria and the Sunny Beaches resort and the organised trips are good but not brilliant, if you do everything then that’s it because there is nothing else to do.
The reps were good but failed to do anything about the noise that was happening about the hotel and warnings were given to everyone and the noises continued and often spoiled the night.
Again all the services the hotel was offering were excellent the maids cleaned every day and tidied everything in your room and the bell boys and the reception were very helpful.
The airport is a nightmare and the size of it doesn’t help but once you are in that’s in and you can enjoy a relaxing time with an assortment of shops.
The only downfall and everyone will agree the PR's were a nightmare. They were outside every cafe and every restaurant and bar and no matter what time it was it was "come on in and eat" and they pestered you and it gets really annoying.
The hotel food was o.k. and a lot of people will disagree and say it was crap and that’s not true because the food that was on offer was of mediocre quality and was o.k.
I would recommend Bulgaria to anyone that is looking for a relaxing holiday.
