I read all these comments with disbeleif after i booked this holiday . one comment suggested i contact my travel agent and book into a different hotel
the reps were useless , the cleaners were rude , the pool was dirty , the food was inedible . the trips were a rip off
if you have already booked reconsider your booking even if it costs you more money it would be worth it
i was glad to get out of bulgaria
i had a pedicure and manicure which was really good and cheap , there also some good fake desighner clothes and lovley paintings on the markets. sunny beach is a good place to shop

my partner i and my two children spent two weeks at the yavor palace and we had a fantastic time.the food is basic but ok.the hotel is situated in a great spot close to the beach and bars.a trip to nessebar is a must it is a beautiful place.we found the staff friendly and very helpful.there is a lot of really good restaurants if you want to eat out.only bad comment i have to make is there is a lot of prostitutes about the streets at night who try to home in on men to steal mobiles from their pockets.it is cheaper than most other holiday resorts but the prices are rising.we have booked another two weeks for august 08.

What can be said about this hotel and holiday "thank god we were in a party of 12", the company was fantastic.
The rooms: All showers were broken or leaking, the carpets stained dirty and very dusty. When used extractor fan in toilet the smell is disgusting.
The food: Well lets see; rotten, cold, tasteless overall very bad. On 3rd day of 14 when eating ice cream I felt something hard in my mouth when looking at it the object was a metal screw if that would have been a CHILD WHAT WOULD HAVE HAPPENED? I never ate in hotel again.
The reps: When told about metal screw were not interested, worst reps I have ever came across. When returning from hotel to airport on flight back home to Glasgow told the guests plane on time no problems, when we got into airport flight 4 hours delay on departure board and reps had vanished!
The hotel: Dirty flies in bar, every guest came home with bites, mind you the bar staff were brilliant and the barmaid was fantastic very friendly, helpful and joined in with the guests.
Sunny Beach was fabulous, but few reports of muggings! The shopkeepers were not very helpful. Restaurants were fantastic specially BISTRO BILLYS, also the restaurant at the rear of the hotel.

Not long back from two weeks in Sunny Beach. The beach may have been sunny all right but it was filthy, covered in cigarette stubs, fruit stones, and other unmentionable rubbish as was the whole resort.
I have rarely seen anywhere so dirty and this is a purpose built resort! The boat trip to Nessebar is a rip off - take the bus but beware of gypsies pick pocketing. Nessebar is well worth a visit and the food in restaurants there was excellent.
The hotel was dirty, noisy and filled with cigarette smoke so that our throats were sore for the entire two weeks. The rooms, carpets, bedding, everything reeked of it and there was no escape. We couldn't sit in the bar or the foyer, people smoked even in the lift - incredible.
One of our party smoked herself but found this to be just appalling.
The maid was excellent but was mostly working alone to cope with all the rooms. We collected clean towels and loo rolls ourselves from the trolley as she was so overworked.
The food was plentiful at breakfast but all bread, cakes, and pastries were stale and inedible as was most of the rest. The food in the resort was atrocious but we did manage to find several passable places - Condor, Djannies - and one excellent restaurant - FAR...a - which was superb for food, setting, and service. Avoid Mamacitas like the plague. It's horrible. Coffee at Sea Eyes is good but more expensive than some places.
Certainly won't go back to Bulgaria or the Yavor Palace again.

Found the hotel to be ok, room was kept very clean, bar staff great, breakfast ok but the evening meal, if you could call it that was terrible; my wife & grandson could not eat it!
When we complained to the rep her reply was (well it is Bulgaria). And a lot of people complained but nothing was done, 4 days before we returned I felt ill but put it down to the heat however on our return I was taken into hospital with Salmonella & Campylobacter - I was in hospital for 7days.
When we wrote a letter to first choice we were told that we would get a reply within 1 MONTH well we are still waiting.
That was our 3rd time in Bulgaria and the worst yet, they should stop selling half-board holidays until the food issue is sorted out.

My party of four have just returned from a week’s break at the Yavor Palace in Sunny Beach and will never return. We have all suffered stomach upsets at least once. The food is on a new level and do not be persuaded to eat it under any circumstances. The hotel itself is basic and usable for a base if you want it cheap, you will certainly know it’s cheap. The resort itself is the usual collection of stalls, bars, and restaurants. Every single one offers the standard menu with little variety. The beach is of a good standard as long as you are ready to spend on the sun beds and umbrellas. Overall, despite the reports of robberies on lower floors, the gut wrenching food, erotic bar at the rear, lack of kids facilities, and to cap it all off the supermarket next door constantly trying to short change you, it could be said that a four letter word best describes our experience, so I guess you live and learn, with the diarrhoea being the sting in the bitter tail. Well you have been warned.

Stayed at the Yavor Hotel for two weeks. Hotel not very clean, maids did their best and gave us clean sheets and towels when we asked for them; could not fault the staff they were lovely, The room was very basic, carpet very dirty and stained, curtains were falling off the windows, bathroom very smelly, shower broken. All in all the room was a dirty and smelly.
I never saw the pool cleaned in the two weeks that we stayed there, glasses and cups were left around the pool from the day before. Our view from the room was in to the flats across the road. A party of four stayed at this hotel we will go back again to Bulgaria but will never stay at this hotel, it is a very dirty hotel and the food is rotten.

It was the first time we have been to Bulgaria. We really liked the resort in Sunny Beach & the hotel was excellent. The staff were great, the beds were made every day.
We always ate out so we did not know how the food was in the hotel.
We would recommend the hotel & the resort to anybody & we would definitely go back to the hotel & the resort, we had no problems.

We visited Yavor Palace for one week, half-board at the end of August. On arrival the staff in the hotel were pretty organised. When we got to our room, we were surprised to find that we had an adjoining room; my two children were pleased to see it too as we thought we would be sharing the one room. The room was clean & tidy, but the shower was broken. Our room was cleaned daily and towels were laid out very nicely.
We did request a room overlooking the pool, but was given a room overlooking the waste disposal bins in the entrance. They were emptied every morning at 7am. Cars playing load music speeding up and down in early hours.
I was shocked to see that there were x-rated adult films on the television after 12 midnight. I came across this, when my daughters were flicking through the channels.
The bar staff in the hotel were friendly enough. But the Bulgarian's in the resort were quite unpleasant. The entertainment was lacking. They did have karaoke every night from 9:30pm, but it was very basic. The staff really did not promote it well enough.
The food in the hotel was warm, not much variety and always swimming in a sauce. The counters were never wiped after visitors had sloped their food everywhere. The crockery was chipped. The cutlery was hidden. If you requested anything it was effort. Lucky enough the food in the resort was cheap enough. So we ate out the majority of the time.
Overall the hotel was a let down for us as a family. We will not return to Bulgaria in the future.

I found that this hotel was reasonable for only a 3 star. Upon arrival the staff were very efficient in seeing that we were all dealt with quickly, as we did arrive in the early hours of the morning. There is only one lift and it is small but the hotel only consists of four levels anyway, therefore its not much of a struggle to get your suitcase up.
Food - we were half board and ate there once and it was a bit like slob in the evenings but eating out was really cheap so was no problem for us as there are plenty of places to eat and choose from. Breakfast was good and there was plenty to go around as they WOULD cook more and put more out of the cooked food. Worst hassle was the toaster, it would take ages to toast and would always create a queue in the morning.
The pool was a good size and there was enough sunbeds for everyone only thing was the sun would not be on the whole of the pool all day and you do have to move by midday to catch the rest.
The resort its self was very busy and very tourist like, there was many bars and restaurants as well as little stalls full of stuff to buy from clothes to DVD's and CD's that do work when you get them home!
As a resort it was perfect everything for everyone. You do have to pay 0.5 0f a lv to go to the toilet and there is a lot of people having you on to get a spare bit of cash with cons going out so keep your eye out. But overall it was a good holiday plenty to do, no hassle and cheap.
To put this into context - room was big and cleaned everyday, food was bit of issue but plenty of places to eat out at and for cheap prices, plenty to do for everyone and overall a really good last minute holiday for those who want to spend as little as possible. We spent £660 for 2 weeks ate out every night, went on excursions, bought a bit out there and the rest was for your daily needs i.e water and snacks.
I would go back as it is a perfect sit back holiday!!!!!!!!

When we went to Bulgaria (Yavor Palace) the plane there was delayed; we flew from Newcastle then we had to land in Manchester to get the plane fixed. We were there about an hour, then we took off it took 3 and a half hours to get there. The flight was fine, we got there early hours of the morning and didn’t get to our hotel until about half 5.
When we arrived at the hotel our suitcases were taken to the room by a bellboy but the elevator was only small, being able to hold 350kg. The room was lovely and clean and the maids come every day. I wouldn’t go half board; there was a wide variety of food but it was disgusting. We got some chips and it was like they had been cooked and then put in the freezer; all stone cold.
You have to watch your money as sometimes the shop owners tip themselves. No cockroaches - a few wasps. Some Bulgarian people were nasty, some ok. The beach was fine although it did have a strong current and lots of jelly fish. Things were cheap but prices must have gone up. It was very hot.
On the way home (stayed for 10 days) we got delayed by 8 hours; we were in there airport from 2:15am til 9am the next morning. The seats were metal and uncomfortable, you couldn’t leave your seat as they were like vultures but they didn’t realize how long we were there.
Was nice holiday apart, but would not go back!

Just returned from the Yavor Palace Hotel. Cannot fault the maid service, room cleaned immaculately. However food was always cold in the restaurant, eventually provided a microwave in order that we could heat the food up. On one day we ordered a cheeseburger at poolside and the burger was served raw. Rep was very helpful if you purchased a trip from First Choice, otherwise didn't seem interested in guests. Building work all week next to the poolside of the hotel with the workers staring at the young female guests (one had a pair of binoclars). Had a back room with balcony and we had a lovely view all week of a rubbish tip from the builders, which was visited regularly by the local gypsies and stray cats. The road outside the Hotel was badly lit on a night, and could not walk on footpaths because of all the building rubble and dirt. The local people are friendly, but be careful of your belongings, there are regular thefts in the resort. There was no entertainment laid on in the hotel, even though we were told there would be on booking. Little entertainment in the resort unless you like watching sky football. Had booked the room on the final day until 6pm and when the final day arrived we were told we didn't have a room and so we waisted 1.5hours on our final morning along with another couple waiting to have the room extension confirmed. The Hotel is classed as 3 star by First Choice, I would certainly rate it at no more than a 2 star. Must say I am glad we only went for a week because I would not know what to do on the second week, though entertainment was slowly being put on in local bars on the last evening. Would like to re-visit again in a few years when all the building work is finished in the resort but certainly in no hurry to return.
